“AVOID: Awful customer service, will never use them again ”

★☆☆☆☆

written by fbeath on 03/08/2023

If you enjoy terrible customer service featuring incompetent patronising staff who do not seem to want to listen to you (and prefer to spend their time belittling how you have set-up & manage your PC) and also cannot even order in a very common part in less than a week and carry out a simple fix then 3000rpm are the people to use! Please for the sake of your sanity and health AVOID 3000rpm (Brown St, Dundee), there isn’t a barge pole big enough in the universe to not touch them with as far as we are concerned. If you want to read the detail of just how bad an experience we had - check out the 3000rpm review on trust pilot (experience date 4th July 2023).

“Unprofessional rude liars ”

★☆☆☆☆

written by 43Sanchez on 04/03/2022

Terrible service the staff were extremely rude and unproffesional getting flippy and emotional after I had brought up the fact that they had kept my computer gathering dust in storage for nearly 2 full months. Once or twice a week I would call them for updates and everytime they would lie saying I would get it in a couple of days and they were currently working on the repair until eventually towards the end of the second month someone finally told the truth and said look I dont know what everyone else who has been on the phone with you has been saying but we don't actually have the parts so your computer has just been sitting here. I came to collect my computer and not only was it covered in dust the frame was damaged had a crack down it from when they opened it, screws were missing one of the fans protectors was gone and initially I thought they had broken the battery but in fact they just didnt put it back in properly. After all this I called asking to speak to a manager or higher up staff member or possibly customer care and the person on the phone asked why and I told him the whole story and again unprofessional and flippy attitude about how dare I accuse them of any of this and denied me speaking to anyone and ended the call. I have just recently called again after quite a long time about a DPD parcel being delivered and again recieved more rude flippy attitude and responses before again having the call ended on me. From my experience they are rude arrogant children who don't know how to run a business or treat their customers. Further update I went in store to retrieve my parcel that was delivered and they refused to give it to me saying that they had a parcel but not for me even after showing an email about it being delivered and after leaving wondering if there has been a mistake or if they are yet again just being extremely petty and unprofessional I checked my emails to find a picture taken by the delivery person of the parcel being left at the store after being recieved yet again I have been rudely treated and lied to and are refusing to give me my parcel.

Another update...I called the supplier of the parts and they confirmed the parcel was for me and that it was delivered to the store they have picture from delivery person and has been confirmed it was recieved at the store. I called 3000rpm again to ask about a parcel I should have at the store and was told they can't reveal that information and I mentioned the other day I was in about a parcel that was delivered and was told there was one but not for me and he asked my name and went to check and said yep there is not a parcel for you. I then mentioned the fact I had spoken to the supplier and they confirmed that the parcel is there for me in my name and has been recievedand there is picture evidence. He then admitted he was said person and started to change his tune and story about the situation saying that it is in fact for me and I can come pick it up. So finally with evidence he has basically admitted to lying to me this whole time trying to take my parcel and further confirming that fact when I did have my computer in with them and each time I called different people lied to me and they returned computer more damaged with parts missing and well yes...how dare I accuse them of such a thing. This business needs to be investigated and shut down.

“Use at your own risk”

written by Leekirkbride on 30/10/2017

They are inaccurate about fixing times and when u complain they tell you to take pc back. I waited 12 days. Told stories twice to me then refused to fix after I confronted them about lying. They may well be good at fixing pcs but are absolutely useless at customer relations

“Poor service - due for a fall”

★☆☆☆☆

written by lbPennington369 on 04/07/2014

Bored? Why not call 3000rpm and kill some valuable time. Yes, you too can listen to endless messages while on hold: "Did you know...did you know...did you know...did you know...did you know..." Then, after holding on for a few years, a final cruel message tells you they're too busy to answer the phone (by the way, this holding on stuff happens EVERY time you call). So, you leave a message and a number. Do they call you back? They might; they might not. As others have said (aside from the one suspicious glowing review), really poor customer service - a company showing all the symptoms of thinking they are too important and can therefore treat customers as mugs (the technical term is hubris). This is the age when even the biggest can fall, and as soon as there are viable alternatives people will avoid 3000rpm like the plague (ironically, they might then actually answer their phone more quickly).

“Poor customer service ”

written by Garrett189 on 20/05/2014

I ordered a laptop from 3000 RPM on ebay - as the listing stated next day delivery if ordered before 3PM. I waited two days before trying to make contact with them after having nothing delivered. I got no reply by the ebay message system so tried 7 times on their website using live chat over two further days, despite it always showing 'online' nobody answered. ive also tried twice to email them through their website - no reply. it has been a week now almost and still no laptop and no contact!!!

“Unprofessional and ill-informed customer service.”

★☆☆☆☆

written by whuMichael on 16/04/2013

I have found 3000rpm to be one of the most unprofessional companies that I have dealt with in sometime. Their customer service has been almost non-existent and only initiated by myself. When I did manage to contact someone I found their knowledge to poor and even below the standard of private sales. On ordering a product, a laptop screen, and waiting the few days until it was anticipated to arrive, I contacted 3000rpm and was told that it had not arrived and that they had no idea when it would arrive (almost the exact quote I received). Now, even I know that tracking products in today's world is relatively easy and if a company such as 3000 rpm cannot do this then I do question where they receive their merchandise from. In addition to this, when I called a few days later after not receiving any contact from 3000rpm, (6 days after my initial order, when it was supposed to take 3 days) I was told that they had received 2 screens. One was broke and they did not know if the other was working. They said that someone would be in until 8pm and to bring it in and they would see it if worked. I turned up at the shop at 18:30 only to be told by some poorly mannered sales assistant, who seemed more interested in causing offense than providing basic customer service, that the technician had already gone home. I also have concern as to why 3000rpm did not test the second screen almost immediately. Surely one of the first priorities of a company is to return any goods to the manufacturer that are delivered faulty, especially with a customer based company like 3000rpm. To me, my dealings with this company highlights a complete lack of administration and management within the store. I am somewhat disappointed with their approach and attitude and sincerely hope that most customers do not have the same experience that I have had with them.

“Poor Customer Service, Repair Service Ripoff”

★☆☆☆☆

written by bradleykins on 07/03/2013

I phoned the company on Tuesday just passed: 05/03/2013. I spoke with an employee about my laptop, explained that it had been knocked to the floor and the screen cracked, also explained i needed a quote to go through the insurance. He told me there would be a £5 charge to find out what was wrong with it. Which i pointed out i knew what was wrong with it, a cracked screen, and that i was using it externally on the telly. He told me, after some consultation, that the £5 fee didn't matter then just pop it in and a quote could be given. I said that was great and planned on popping by later in the week. So far so good. I drove 25 miles from fife to the shop, past many other companies, to the shop. I found it closed at 6.30pm with no information on where the other part of the shop was, but a statement saying the other half of the shop was open. I decided to call the phone number and waited on the shops repair centre line (this told me it was open till 8pm and the repair centre was 300m away from the shop) i spent a good 5-10 minutes on hold, and eventually the automated system told me that "customer service is their top priority! leave a number and a short message and we will get back to you" Pretty useless when im standing in the cold trying to find out where the other part was. We popped into a local pub and i asked for directions, having gotten these we eventually found the centre. I waited behind another chap for a few minutes then explained the predcament again to the young fella behind the counter, having showed him the damage an explained i just needed a quote, he went to ask about this to another employee. When he came back he informed me that i needed to book it in, and that it would cost £30 to diagnose the issue. I immediately informed him that i didn't want to leave it as thats the charge that PC world charge and at least there i know they are professional. I personally cannot believe a company i have recommended so much to other people (i am seen as the IT guy in the family - they have had a lot of business come from me) is being so bad. A cracked screen... Kinda obvious whats wrong. It works when i don't use the screen.... You want £30 to tell me i need a new screen... Very unprofessional, very poor. I shall never recommend this company to any of my friends and family or professionally, and i will never be a customer. I hope the shop understands that i would be reimbursed the diagnosis fee, but i resent driving a 50 mile round trip on the premise of a free quote to be so offended that i vow never to give any money to this company, ever. So the few hundred quid that i would have been paying for a new screen, it can go to someone more professional and much better customer service. Don't use this company...
