I've bought a number of things from OverClockers UK, in fact, almost everything computer related I buy from them, including my computer itself (Titan Goliath). The card arrived one day late and I was refunded the P&P costs for that which satisfied me. The card it seems was faulty, they RMA'd it for me and it was returned unfaulty. I'm still awaiting further results as to the truth of these matters since everything points to a faulty card, OcUK says it is not. However, I've had pretty good customer service throughout. I've been using the forum and webnote, I'm unsure how they are over the phone, but through these services they have been okay. I'd give OcUK 4/5. Except from this card I've never had a problem. I love their website, I find it far more user friendly than most other companies and I think it just has a nice look and feel to it, it's what attracted me to OcUK in the first place. The products are usually very good and prices are mostly cheap. On top of that they have a friendly, active community on their forum.

Ordered bits for my PC off them, normally next day delivery, and if there's ever a delay they're quick to sort it. Had to RMA a product due to it not fitting properly (my fault for not checking before hand) and they processed the RMA under the DSR very quickly, and sent out a replacement that did fit to arrive the next morning. As a member of the forums I get free delivery, so making the prices even more competitive than they are now!

Overclockers UK www.overclockers.co.uk ... what can I say that probably hasn't been said before... I've bought a few items over the past couple of years from the above company and can honestly say I've never had a problem with either their service or deliveries, everything from ordering to enquiries has been easy, prompt, first rate and 100%. I'm one of the eighty-four thousand plus members of their forum, which in my opinion, is one of the best and active PC component forums in the UK. The level of knowledge from those at OCUK HQ is second to none. They are very helpful in everything you enquire about, they are honest, sometimes blunt (which isn't a bad thing imo), sometimes funny but most importantly of all, they are courteous and professional in all their dealings with their customers and forum members, whether you are a seasoned PC component specialist or a complete novice. I've never needed to call their customer service department or had the need to return any item so I can't comment on that side of OCUK, but from the few posts I've read over the past few years, those who have had to use either of the above services have all (to my knowledge) been satisfied with the outcome. The only negative I have about OCUK is that their pricing is a little high compared to other E-Tailers. There has been occasions where I (as well as others) have had to use said other E-Tailers to save quite a few pounds for the exact same build, which is a shame as I usually like to stay loyal, but I, like many others, do have to look after the pennies in my pocket. If OCUK could/would, bring their pricing in-line with the other E-Tailers then they would have me (and I suspect others too), as a customer/s for life.

Normal everything is sent fine and cost are brilliant. The odd times where things do go wrong the customer support team are superstars and always sort out issues for me.

My old PC packed up with the current Next-Gen games coming out, it just couldn't handle them. I looked at different website's like Alienware, etc, but found these were all way overpriced for what they had in them. Also from the reviews i read, the customer service of these big companies was shocking.
I came across Overclockers UK and their pre-built units were cost effective and gave good room for personal customization. I had my own choice of graphics card put in and after a week of build time and postage, it arrived.
I am very pleased with my unit, and it works in every way i want it to. I am currently buying more hardware off them to put into this PC, giving them another £300, that's how much i like their service.
As for the customer service, it is the best I've ever received from both supermarkets and online stores. When my PC arrived it came without a power cord, i phoned them immediately and i had it within 2 days. I found out 6 months after my purchase that i should have received a free game, i contacted them and they gave me a copy for an even better game that had just been released.
Overall; Their product range is excellent, their customer service is the best, they made a few mistakes, but who doesn't? The fact is they fixed these problems within 2 days each, making me feel they want more than my money, they want me to come back, they value me as a customer.

my product came a week late because it was out of stock, and i wasn't even told; that is my biggest qualm with the company.
other then that, the complaint service is amazing, they kept cool, they understood the situation and acted accordingly.
what i do love about over-clockers is how good the pricing on they're products.
i would of love to know that the creepy message asking for extra deatails was actually over-clockers, and not some stranger who has logged into my bank account. that could of have been avoided with a simple over-clockers logo on the email.
the ATI RADEON HD 5870 works great no problems, even on a 500watt psu. great product
but big shout out to Steven L. he was really professional. thanks again!

when buying computer components, you expect to occasionally have problems, but whenever I have had to return something (either for myself or on friends behalf), OCUK have been helpful and polite, very proffessional, and in most cases have ensured I am without my PC for the shortest amount of time feasibly possible. all I would say is you are better off using the forums than phoning them, as the phonelines are always busy, and the staff are nearly always watching the support forum!

Quick delivery, All products came through correct. Good details and information on the site, whether you're new to computers or a wiz' you can understand as all the infromation you need is there.

Have brought many parts from them and so far no trouble. Have had a few deliveries that didn't make it on time. I would say this - RMA, never had to do. But when I do I will more likely suffer as others here have!
Do I trust OCUK? No! But then I don't trust any of them, i.e., nova and others. Your money is all they want. Customer service after, always come second, period!
It's a minefield out there. Just pot luck with any of them! One thing I will say for them - They seem to be quicker than others at getting new technology as it comes out and a better variety.
I hope you find my review helpful - It is an honest one. Too many company scamming reviews get placed on many a site, which makes it hard to tell who is telling the truth now days

I was rushing to buy the parts for my new computer in time for Christmas when I realised that I had inadvertently ordered two power supplies from Overclockers. From recent experiences with Dixons, I was worried it would take a long time to cancel the order, and I might have to return it as it would already have been delivered. I submitted a support ticket and went to bed.
When I woke up, I found the order had been cancelled and I had not been charged at all. I re-ordered - a single power supply this time, and despite the current snow-related postal disasters, it arrived in three working days.
I would highly recommend Overclockers. Their website is clean, accessible and frank. The product categories are also well-defined and help a lot. Pricing varies so I'd always recommend shopping around, but for several computer parts I found Overclockers was the cheapest.

I ordered a complete system with an upgraded graphics card last Tuesday. The machine was dispatched on Wednesday and arrived Thursday morning.
Sadly when the machine arrived the Graphics card was DOA. I called overclockers who told me to send the card back. Recieved an email on Friday saying it had arrived and then another saying a new card was being sent. The card arrived this morning with no problems.
While it sucks it was DOA I can't see how overclockers could have handled it better. Oh and they also covered my postage costs.

The graphics card I ordered was faulty, I reported this via the webnote system on their web site and Overclockers replaced it in a timely fashion. The new card works fine. Cost of return postage was refunded. Don't know what all the complaining here is about.

My experience with Overclockers UK hasn't quite finished yet, but my review comes from my knowledge of them so far.
I am incredably anxious as to what will happen now after reading all of these incredably negative reviews - i feel incredably worried, as in total (including my harddrive which i purchased) i have spent nearly a grand on their website.
So my overclocked bundle arrives, all boxed up in the original packaging. I slot it into my HAF 932 tower case (more than sufficient to cool anything) and turn the PC on. Within 2 minutes, the PC cuts out. I try again and it does the same thing only quicker. I go into the bios and see that within a minute of booting the computer, the IOH (northbridge) is at a temperature of 70 degrees C (ouch) and rising fast. The PC cutout point is 100 degrees, so this would explain the reason for the PC cutting out.
I call up customer support, and after 4 minutes, they do eventually pick up and a very polite man responds with helpful advice, and seems to know his stuff technically wise. He reccomends I remove the northbridge heat sink and apply some more thermal paste to it. If not, then he suggested it may be a fault with the motherboard, and that we would need to get an RMA number and send it back.
I get parcelforce to come and collect it, and two days later it arrives at overclockers who immediately update the status on the RMA web form from 'We are awaiting to recieve this item' to 'This item is currently going through our testing procedure'
All I can say so far is that their service has been great, (not brilliant as surely an overheating problem this collosal would have been detected by their overclocking technicians), but right now I am absolutely sh****ng myself, after reading the reviews, as I don't know if i will ever see my 800 quid or my motherboard every again.
Overall: I would say avoid this company, because just from looking at other reviews, i can see a lot of people complaining of faults with their products. I have to admit too that my items arrived with only the most basic of wrapping, and a semi-falling apart box. If you really want to order from them, but dont wish to be dealing with returns, whether or not the service is good, then probably you will be best off avoiding them.
I gave them 4 stars because as of yet - I haven't had any blatent issues with their customer support or delivery service / speed.

I decided to give overclockers-UK a go, as they where the cheapest online for the PC monitor I wanted.
I had to go through with a vertification process before they would process my order, but they already debited my card first.
They wanted a copy of my bank statement for the past 3 months & a copy of utility bills as well as my drivers licence emailing to them before they would dispatch my order.
I expressed my displeasure to them in an email however I also complied fully and went ahead and sent them an email with all the documents they asked for.
I never received an email back from them to confirm they have received it.
At this point I was starting to get worried and I was looking online and read many bad reviews concerning OVERCLOCKERS-UK which made me really worry.
So I decided to phone them and find out what the score was with regards to the email and delivery date.
I spoke to a guy who assured me I would receive my monitor tommorow as planned initially on sending the payment to them on the 3/08/2010.
I waited and as I was told the monitor turned up on time delived by DPD couriers on the 5/08/2010.
I am very, very happy with this purchase great value for money and fast delivery.
However overclockers-uk make ordering from them needlessly complex, as they did for me asking for so much personal info just to confirm my current address. I would have though I was applying to be a police officer with so much personal infomation I was reluctant to give them.
I still don't understand why they needed that info it has not happened to me before on any online store and why they don't accept PAYAPL is beyond me.
However the goods turned up and all is well a top spec monitor at a fantastic price delived on time.

OCUK sell a range of systems to suit all needs from basic computing to high-end gaming rigs, plus a very wide range of assessories and peripherals to suit most pockets. I chose the best specification I could afford including a Phenom II black edition CPU and an XFX ATI 4890. I installed the OS and drivers myself and configured the software as I am an IT pro (BScHons ICT A+ Network+ etc).
Cutting the story short, after a few months of mild over-clocking (within the tolerances of the ATI and Gigabyte over-clocking software) both motherboard and vid card failed. I phoned and had no trouble agreeing the return of the entire base unit to OCUK for testing.
The RMA process was fast (next day collection, following day delivery) and painless. The unit was returned the same day with an upgraded ATI 5850 in it. That was 'dead on arrival'. I swapped it for an old ATI2500 I had at home and the system worked, so again I phoned and agreed to RMA the 5850, with the same excellent after sales service. I had an email saying they would again replace the replacement 5850 and it was sent the same day - replaced by a 5870!
This company is very popular, they have a very big following as evidenced by the number of discussion on their in-house technical forums. Their tech department is very busy and sometimes the technicians doing the testing are under pressure. They can make mistakes, however, you phone them and they can tell you what's happening - communications are very good indeed.
Excellent systems, and an efficient after-sales service, have a bit of patience with them in the face of advsity and they will look after you very well in return, and even generously.
Highly recommended.

The shop, is good. Their website (old simple style and new advanced style is good. You can find what you want with the great navigation easily enough.
The cost could be cheaper, sometimes it's wise to browse on OcUK then buy on Scan or Novatech, etc.
The forum is full of great advice on a technical front and you'll normally always get a good answer to a question. On the social side they're quite strict and dare I say it, pathetic sometimes. The moderators are an interesting bunch, I once got suspended for defending a gay mans choice of lifestyle against the moderators opinions and got a threatening e-mail from another mod once after I disagreed with him. Made me chuckle. The owner, Spie has come across as racist and homophobic at times too.
Overall, the forum is great. Just a few bad apples. The reputation of the forums is known among many other technical or gaming forums too.
Would I recommend shopping with OcUK and I would, despite what I've honestly said, recommend using their forums too.
I feel this review has weighed up my personal experiences quite accurately, pros AND cons.
Please also note the recent boost in reviews is because of a recent thread asking people to come here and write positive feedback. I doubt people will lie, the majority of dealings with OcUK are positive.
Thanks for reading :)

Bought a Crucial M225 but it wasn't compatible with my system, returns was fantastic and they gave me a full refund (even for the 2.5 to 3.5" adapter I bought too!). The shop forums offer a wealth of information and advice, if you are a loyal member you can get free postage and packing on your items. Dispatch is quick and usually the same day.

Over the last 5 years, I've purchased 1000's of pounds worth of components from overclockers and while I've had a couple issues over that time with overclockers, on the whole, I'm quite happy with overclockers. The reason I'm writing this review is because a lot of the reviews I've seen on this site tend to be quite unfair to overclockers. While not perfect, overclockers is better than most. Ordering on their site is very simple and the layout on their site is very intuitive and well laid out. Their prices are competitive with other online retailers and their delivery charges are reasonable. Also, their online delivery dating system is the best I've seen so far compared to most online retailers. Delivery has always been prompt except in a few cases where it has been my fault as I was not home to accept delivery. Out of the many orders I've placed with them, I've had only 3 issues with them. One faulty item, which I reported immediately and they covered the expense of sending back. Unfortunately you have to wait for them to receive it before they send out the replacement, which is the norm for most retailers. And I had 2 instances where they sent the wrong item. One was due to out of stock (that one annoyed me as they should have just called and I would have chosen alternative), but it was sorted in the end. The other was because someone at overclockers accidentally put the wrong stock number sticker on the item. Fair enough. Same situation as the first, I had wait for them to receive the item before they sent the correct item, but they covered the shipping expense. Plus for the inconvenience, they through in a couple free games (Crysis and Call of Juarez) into the replacement box to make up for it. Their customer service has always been good with me (not perfect, but good), and I've had to make fewer calls to them than I have to with most retailers as they usually do what they say they will.
Now for what I think people are being unfair about towards overclockers:
Overclockers not exchanging items that go faulty before 6 months: Come on guys... This is common sense here. You have a certain amount of time to report faulty items to overclockers (items that you received faulty... Not became faulty over time) in order to have them exchanged. After that time, it falls under the manufacturer warranty. This means you have to contact the manufacturer... Not the retailer. The only thing you need from the retailer is the receipt. You can not expect retailers to exchange every item down the line because they develop a fault as the retailer may no longer carry the item. But none-the-less, it's not their responsibility. It's the manufacturer's. Come on, use your common sense. Example: My LG DVD player developed a fault 5 months after I bought it. It was outside the retailer return policy, so did bother contacting the retailer?... No.. Why?.. Because there's nothing they can do. It now falls under manufacturer warranty. So I contacted the manufacturer to resolve. It took a while to resolve, mainly because LG's ludicrously inept customer service, but I got it resolved in the end, but that was only, because I caught LG in a lie and gave them no other choice but to resolve it the way I told them to.
As for receiving faulty goods. 7 days is short, but I thought it was 14 days. But either way, this is common among most retailers and many manufacturers. Example: Whirlpools deadline for reporting missing parts from their items is also 7 days... After that, you have the buy the missing parts. But again, this is a common sense issue. Why would you buy an item and then wait 3 weeks or a month to check that it arrived in good condition. Even if your not going to use the item for a month, you should always at least check the item to make sure that it arrived with everything and least test that it's functional before setting aside for later use. Again, common sense. These were two examples of the most common issues brought upon overclockers that people complain about that are just common sense. While I've had a couple issues with them, their customer service has been good over the years and as long as you are "reasonable" with them, they will be reasonable with you.
The customer service I've regularly received from overclockers is the kind of customer service I've received from companies in the states, but rarely seen in Britain. Quite simply, Overclockers is better than average and have become my preferred 1st stop for buying PC components.

I returned (RMA) a hard drive caddy which wouldn't fit my pc tower. The process was totally smooth. No hassles whatsoever. They also gave me the option of my money back or to try another make. To be fair they do most things right - competitive pricing, quick to market, robust website, good RMA service and someone to talk to to albeit via email/web service.
