Pile 'em high, Sell 'em cheap and don't bother with any QA. If you bear that in mind Rocky can be very useful. If you need a hood, a widget or a Tamron adapted mount the huge stock means he's probably got one. If you want a pristine, collectable one the maybe you should go elsewhere. Maybe, if you are buying a bunch of small stuff and get up to his discount level it could be worth taking a punt on a lens or camera, but only if you can afford for it not to work or some lens elements to have fungus. I've taken the punt a few times and been disappointed, but I've equally been disappointed with stuff from secondhand and junk shops or car boots. When the guy is selling a lot of his stock for less than Oxfam would you can't expect too much. So, approach with caution and the awareness that 1/3-1/2 of what you buy will be as good as you'd have hoped, but with his prices you could still be getting a good deal and consider having a bit of a punt... Just don't look for perfection.

First things first: You get what you pay for - Rocky Cameras is usually pretty cheap, with 40% off sales sometimes and the standard "Buy 19 bits of junk with what you actually want for 25% off" but be aware that you might have to clean or refurb whatever you buy, and it won't always be cheaper after doing so. I've bought about a dozen things from here. Never had anything go missing completely but certainly had things not present in the box and had to chase it up. but they always sort it out, at least in my experience. Delivery is usually fast but things are seldom as described. Case in point: an "Optically perfect" (they copy and paste the descriptions for basically every item) Leica Summaron 35mm f/2.8 for £200 needed the finder specs cleaning and the lens dismantling to clean fungus and haze from. But they go for about double that price so it was worth the risk. The focus is really stiff though. Overall if you know what you are doing, it's cheap and you can get a bargain. Don't email, RING if you have an issue. Although you will have to do it multiple times.

I have made several orders with rocky cameras, all of my items have showed up, either working or not (as specified), and as i expect with old cameras, a bit grummy, but i don't mind cleaning my own cameras. My first order took over two weeks to arrive, my second order took 3 days (maybe he has a two week post office run?), and i've just placed an order now. His customer service is awful, i'll be honest, never answers his phone and never replies to his emails, unless it's to talk about an offer on a camera. I tried to make him an offer, which he accepted, but he did not hold up his end of the bargain. This was solved over paypal. I don't think his prices are too bad, postage is a bit steep. No, he's not great, and i'd always pay with the safety of paypal or some other service like that. Don't expect wonders. Buy with a good backup like Paypal, and you should be alright.

Pile them high and sell them cheap! With Rocky you need to look at the equipment before you buy. He deals in a lot of average stuff, but there are a few gems!
