I bought a pair of diamond earings off of bidzs for $500, they did have a flaw in one of the earings,a blkack spot.. I took it too a jewlery shop and they told me for bigger diamonds that was common and appraised them at $1200.00, not the deal excpected but still pretty good. That was a couple years ago. the GF still has them and loves them. even with the flaw..so mt experiance wasnt bad. Read the and learn about clearity of diamonds befor emaking a purchase like that. Many Characteristics go into the ratting of a diamond.

We would also want you to know that appraisals from the jewelers may vary depending on a jeweler. In case you want to get a correct estimation it is best that you go to a certified gemologist not just a jeweler. The reason for that is that a lot of jewelers would try to give you a low estimated price on the item and then offer to buy the piece from you convincing the customer that he would not get more anywhere else. They would turn around and sell the merchandise later for a higher price because the real price is higher.
