Landscape of green acres in alrewas is a total shamble the curbs are dangerous, overgrown land and bushes look a mess no new plants shrubs or trees have been planted around the development most home buyers have had to re landscape the front of there properties for a hefty price tag starting at £380,000 for a small 3 bed it’s just unacceptable I get that you have tried to preserve the trees but making a Ireland out of one on The Shotts is a blatant big mistake the tree is in the way no where on the shotts is there enough room to fit cars passing either direction and no where to safely stop to give way! The Flatts is just as bad again not a road wide enough to fit car passing either direction with a curb that comes out 3 times what is the point the path is not wide enough to even fit a pushchair or wheelchair on ! Why is it there? Do us a massive favour dig all the overgrown trees and bushes up and do it properly the first time it’s a obvious hazard and I don’t know how crest have even got away with building roads like this a development of 120 houses there is never going to be just one car going up these skinny roads sort it out crest ! It’s a embarrassment the development just looks crammed together with false advertising picture perfect views of what exactly overgrown land?

The build was delayed by 6 months with no communication. We then moved in and are constantly having to chase to get the snagging done. If you want to work full time chasing a company who do not care if your house is safe then go ahead. If not stay well clear.

Use covenant in your deeds to entrap you into paying for unadopted areas . In my case roads were deemed unfit for adoption however we were already in the property for 2 years and bough property , quality of build terrible , leaks from condenset pipe from boiler behind the plaster , probobly leaked from first installation. Extractor pipe from bathroom to roof not fitted properly indeed had to shave joist to fit so was knowingly just placed on so moisture in roof dripping . Phone line substandard so not going to dig up from under concrete so will have to get BT to put new line in etc etc

Where to begin? Firstly, will confirm that all incidents mentioned past or present (mainly all still present!) in this review can be proved via emails sent/received with Crest. You may not see this review for long as we know for a fact Crest try and have negative reviews removed on most review sites, that is why we are starting to leave reviews on a many as possible, to warn as many people as possible. Do not buy your ‘dream’ home with Crest and IF you do, please, please, please research carefully first and take note of the negative reviews. I would normally bypass bad reviews myself thinking it’s easier to criticise than to praise, but please these negative reviews are all genuine and ALL of them we can relate to 100%. Each and every one. So it will take me more than one review to express the utter disgust my wife and I have towards Crest. We purchased a new build at the Sevington Lakes development in Ashford, Kent. Nine months in, we still have major snagging and works outstanding. Nine months of being treated with utter contempt, fed lies, no proper answers to questions asked, no empathy or respect. Nine months of shoddy workmanship; A completely wrong kitchen installed, which they tried their very best to cover up. No dishwasher that was ordered installed and in a working condition for almost three months. One of the most serious issues being a 5-month internal gas leak caused by poor installation, therefore no less than 3x gas certificates issued…our list of issues with them is endless; We are having to have our front cladding completely replaced due to storage and water damage before installation. Repointing to the entire back of our house, they have tried to patch it no less than 3x times. We are still awaiting our porch/canopy to be fitted. This was due to be fitted the week we moved in (1st week of May 22) then it was June, July and we still await. They tried to pass plans for a canopy not agreed to either. The driveway needs to be completely ripped up, releveled, and re-laid due to flooding. Electrics not installed to 2022 industry standards. Lofts not vented properly causing condensation and await extra vents to be fitted. A bit too late as insulation now wet through and in some houses the rafters are wet through too. Will they replace the insulation etc? maybe but there will be months and months of constant fighting and wrangling with them. The street lighting is only just being properly worked on now, it has been dark throughout the dark winter nights. Drains constantly blocked and being pumped out at least once a week. Once they have your money, you are nothing. For them it’s onto the next fool. Their supposed mantra is “We want you to be happy”. Absolute nonsense. They treat us all like tenants instead of homeowners. Communication is a nightmare. When you do finally get answers, they are never in the form of a direct reply to your concern or complaint. Always swerving the difficult questions or not answering them at all. The Eastern MD just hides behind his secretary and uses her to reply when he needs too. Staff turnover is beyond a joke we have literally had at least 4x site managers and 4x customer service managers over the past 9 months. We wished we never bought a home from Crest in the first place. What an indictment that is. But they don’t care anyway. They absolutely do not care what anyone thinks of them at all. End of. It’s all about the buck, OUR buck. So, we feel it is best for people to be warned rather than fall into the trap that we have. It has affected our mental health this past year it truly has, we wouldn’t wish that on anyone else. It was meant to be our dream home in our dream location. We have waited to live in Finberry for nigh on 6 years. They genuinely turned that dream into an absolute nightmare. Please feel free to ask any further questions, will be happy to assist.

I would thank you site manager in Daventry. He is a great and warm person since day one . He provided a wonderful services for fixing snagging issues. I feel so lucky to meet a site manager like you.

Absolutely ruined a dream home. Do not trust them 1 bit once they have your money they could not care less. Our house was the 1st built on the street. We lived for a year with houses going up around us. When we moved in we were told repeatedly by Crest onsite team that any cracks would be fixed as we have the works around us. Yeah right. 1 year on your refusing to fix works wrong from day 1 now your not around. The after care is absolutely awful. Try talking to the midlands MD pathetic responses hiding behind his secretary. I have been told by a crest site manager that after covid things have changed and they are penny skimping more. I would NEVER buy Crest do not believe the hype. Check social media for any development you may be interested in. Hundreds on our estate feel the same.

I could probably write a book on how bad this builder is. To start with, after you book the house and exchange contract they forget you and don’t call to report delays. The delay is not just by months but can be more than a year!! I know, ridiculous. The building work is shoddy, leaks cracks and breaks are very common and they don’t (JUST DONT) repair it, which they should. The customer service and the sales office is horrible and unprofessional. They make up stories, misplace quotations and list of choices etc but never admit it . Extremely corrupt, overpriced houses. DONT BUY

We definitely will not recommend Crest. Up to the point of completion, the service was good but as soon as we moved in, we realised how bad they are. The day we moved into our brand new house, there was a leak in the upstairs family bathroom that damaged the living room ceiling. There was a stopcock burst in the kitchen a week before we moved in which damaged half of our kitchen unit and all of our kitchen and dining room flooring. Crest didn’t inform us how bad the water burst was and proposed to only changed few parts of the kitchen unit. After moving in we realised that firstly they got our kitchen unit colour wrong and second there were more damage than what was mentioned. The whole kitchen unit had to be replaced; with the flooring and skirt board. Garden turf was done so badly that they had to be replaced. Leakage in downstairs cloakroom. Our snag list is forever long and we are more than a year into moving that Crest is still promising to get them fixed. Their customer service team is one of the worst I’ve dealt with. Their Head of customer service over promised but never delivered. We are still waiting on technician to come and assess big cracks in our garage. It is beyond ridiculous on how much you have to chase them.

Well I can't say my experience with crest Nicholson has been a good one unfortunately. It started well but slid down hill fast. Everyone has a snag list but ours still isn't complete and we moved in over 2 years ago. Promises, promises but don't deliver. Would NOT recommend to anyone sadly. We love the house and the location which is a plus. Now heavy construction traffic is come down the main entrance/ Exit to the development even though this was said it would got through another route. Speeding HGV trucks full of tons of earth , and after a complaint to the site manager, no response . Will it take a death to make these people realise.?

MOULDY HOUSE! Sold us a mouldy house! Took 2 months just to look at the problem. Took 6 weeks before sorting it and was left with no kitchen for an additional 6 weeks. Was heavily pregnant. They ruined our floor we had done ourselves and left us with an habitable home. So unhelpful, rude, belittling, intimidating. Constantly sold - well pay for new floor, electricity etc. Offered us £500 compensation for 6 MONTHS worth of stress and inconvenience. Countless days off of work for builders to come in to not even turn up! Had the regional director call me and ask to hold off of the NHBC survey until crest “redeem themselves”!!! Have been so fair to crest and gave them the benefit of the doubt and they have proved they do not care about their customers at all. Awful company, builders who take NO pride in their work

Bought a flat with Crest in 2016 and it's just been a never ending nightmare. I'd say it's been my worst financial decision. The developer (i.e. Crest) took shortcuts with the build: our recent survey found that the fire doors aren't in fact fire doors and that the anti-fire spreading material used inside the wall cavities actually SPREAD the fire. The car park has been leaking sewage since day 1 and Crest claim that this isn't their responsibility (they claim it's the leaseholder's responsibility because it was signed off by the managing agent who have no audit trail of actually reviewing and signing this off... Safe yourself some hassle and buy a house. No developer (maybe with the exception of Barratt) we've met lives up to their promises.

Don’t buy Crest Nicholson developed properties, otherwise you will have serious problems when you sell it. The problem lies in the management company they set up. Once the properties are completed, Crest Nicholson set up “empty” management companies so that they can sell their properties. However, most of such management companies are just shell companies, meaning that they are actually non-existing and do nothing. They don’t maintain the communal areas at all, and never appoint any managing agents to do on behalf of them. When you try to sell the properties, this management company issue will NOT allow you to complete the conveyancing process, because almost all the mortgage lenders pay attentions to this issue. Or, even worse, your buyer has to be cash buyers only and also who doesn’t care the management company. The list of such “empty” management companies (over 50!!) that Crest Nicholson set up If you find that the management company in your land register is one of these companies and they haven’t done any maintaining work, you will have serious problems when you sell it. You can try their customer service number, but their attitudes are basically that no update can be given on every excuse. For myself, at the beginning, they referred to a managing agent saying that they should be responsible. After I phoned the managing agent, I found that they were not responsible at all and never did anything on behalf of Crest. Then, I told Crest, and no update was given over 1 month. Then, the customer service told me that a development director started to work on this issue and had meetings discussing this issue. And then, coincidently this director “was out of office and had limited access to emails” right after the meeting. Until now, three months since I first raised this issue, called, emailed and then sent a letter, there is still no update at all. More importantly, I didn’t ask them to maintain the communal area, although it has NOT been maintained in the past 8 years! All I am asking is some basic information and confirmation from the management company, so that we can complete the conveyancing.

You have been warned. Customer service is terrible. Build quality terrible. And if you do buy and they offer to lay a free lawn it's because they want to hide all the builder rubble they are chucking underneath so you don't see it. Tricksters

My friends flat is 3 weeks old , damp and mould growing all over the flat. He’s been told it’s a paint problem. And to put a dehumidifier in the flat. Oh and live with it and put his heating on more. He’s just paid £200,000 for a 2 bedroom flat. Shocking! Why would a new place be so damp and except people to live with it.

Sales staff good, however their 'Customer Services' team are an utter shambles !! You have to chase chase chase even to get an acknowledgement let alone a fix. Even then they will ignore you for months, send the wrong people round, or in some cases just send anyone round to bodge it. They also expect you to inform them of every fault on day 1 (impossible) or "you didn't inform us so we're not responsible". I received several emails saying they weren't responsible for certain snagging areas only for me to have to take time out to retrieve already agreed areas, they will then apologise'for the confusion' and see to it. KEEP ALL EMAILS TO CREST - YOU WILL NEED THEM AGAIN AND AGAIN ! Would never buy another Crest house purely to avoid having to deal with anyone from this 'team' ! They act like they're doing you a favour missing the point that if they were well built in the first place there wouldn't be any snagging ! Agree a snagging time length (legally if poss) before buying or you're in for a world of frustrating pain !

Design and fittings good. Prepurchase terrible with all sorts of threats if we did not complete before their year end. Lots of interior and exterior snagging but most done reasonabley quickly. However many landscaping and drainage sewerage problems and despite the involvement of executive staff - no honest answers. Some excellent staff and some absolutely terrible.

Appallingly rude, arrogant sales staff at Portland Gardens, I'd like to bring my husband next time and notice the difference!

I bought a flat in Valentine Place development in London 8 months ago and so far the experience has been terrible. Crest hurried up the works in order to force buyers to complete the purchase by the end of their financial year. This has led to enormous quality issues. Before completion I warned Crest about water leaking from the roof in the flat and 8 months after rain is still dropping down from the living room ceiling. The Customer Service has been dragging its feet in order to minimize its costs and so far no solution is in sight. The overall water piping of the building has major issues, with many leaks appearing in several flats. The lift in the building has been working intermittently and I got stuck in it several times, having to wait for emergency services to come to rescue me. Definitely the quality of the development is too low for the price of the units and the Customer Service should be more helpful with the tenants.
