1983 Cm125
I bought the cm125 in 1988 & was a 1983 model. Vgc condition & was purple & a nice looking bike, paid then £415 which today would be about £800 there abouts. I found it sluggish for a twin when fully opened the throttle but it is a cruiser. I noticed the ht wire would make the bike run on one cylinder on & off at times just like my honda cb125 superdream tdc which is the same engine used. Proberly a break in the ht wire that caused the problem.complex & expensive engine to repair when goes wrong. Keep an eye on the oil level as it can drop & wreck the engine. Nice bike but i would still prefere my 2005 honda cg125 than the cm125.

The Honda Cm125c Is Still The Best 125 On The Road
The Honda CM125C is still the best 125 on the road today. I have never had a 125 that rides as well as the CM125C. She is a dream to ride.

Decent First Bike That Will Happily Sit At 60-70 M
Decent first bike that will happily sit at 60-70 mph all day long with no trouble at all. My only gripe is that I've been trying to get a right hand side panel for a month now with no success. But an altogether excellent bike.

Had this bike a while now, its an 1984 model, the only difference between this and the later types is a disc brake at the front. Repaired the bike myself (was a bit tatty when I got it) and its easy to work on with basic tools (get a haynes manual first)
Like the bike so much I have hung onto it although I had to buy a Chinese bike last year as it started burning oil-had done 20000 miles plus though!. I am currently rebuilding the engine.
Only snag is parts can be a pain to find-try breakers ads in bike mags, as some parts from the other honda 125's such as the rebel will fit.

Excellent Bike To Learn On, Very Forgiving But Als
Excellent bike to learn on, very forgiving but also fun. My bike has done over 70,000km and is still going strong with only minimal maintenance.

I Fell In Love With This Bike's Looks, And It Was
I fell in love with this bike's looks, and it was love at first sight. In my three years I have travelled all over the UK in relaxed comfort. I fitted a large topbox, windscreen and I use throw-over panniers and a tank bag, and I notice minimal performance problems (maybe slightly more sluggish getting up to speed, but that's expected). This is a heavy bike for a 125, and it looks like it should be much larger. I once had to show a police officer the capacity stamp on the back of the cylinder head to prove it was a 125!! This bike (like my current ride, the XL125V Varadero) is my recommendation for a ideal learner bike in preparation for advancement to a bigger bike, or preparation for Direct Access.
If you can find one, buy it. You will not be disappointed, and you will be perfectly prepared, whatever your next step in motorcycling is.

In One Sentence To Explain How Brilliant The Honda
In one sentence to explain how brilliant the Honda CM125C is - its brilliant, i'm thinking of keeping it even after i've passed my main test and when I do get a bigger bike i'm still keeping this one for sentimental reasons (if you know what i mean).

When The Honda Cm125ccame Out In 85/86? It Was The
When the Honda CM125Ccame out in 85/86? it was the coolest bike of its kind on the road, the best of the 125cc range, I had one for 3 years, never had nothing wrong used it all year round, I had more fun and more eye catching with this bike than i did with a 1000cc kawasaky, which I used to have at one time. Sure there is no comparison when it comes with power but the Honda Custom 125cc was a dream for first timers and those who don't like or can't handle big bikes, because when 250cc was abolished for learners, this was the answer to ride a 125cc that looks like a 250cc and you felt you were there with the boys, if you know what I mean, I use it to work everyday from east london to west end, never failed on me once, and it was already a second hand the one I had, it was perfect to get around traffic, no matter how heavy it was, where other bikes used to get stuck in some way or another, the honda custom 125cc ruled the way in every way, I remember when I used to get big bikes passing me on the A13 waving goodbye, but once they headed in to the city I soon used to catch up and leave them behind, because it was just fast enough and great to manuever, through heavy trafic, better than a big massive bike. I learned how to be an experienced biker with a honda custom 125cc than I did with the big bike I had before, for I realise that what makes a good biker is how you manuever your bike and not how big or fast you can go, and this bike had everything, from quick start to slow down smooth to manuever in and out of spaces with ease, to me it handles like a dream, and it has just enough of everything you need from a bike.
I have just got a cm125 c in a lot of bits and am looking forward to finishing it and riding it as ive wanted one since the 80s so can't wait
You could try ebay or David Silver Spares (Specialist Honda Parts Dealer)
Rob
I have a CM125 - it's an 1986 model and the only bad thing I can think of is that parts are very hard to find, I only need a clip to make the throttle work and I can't even find one of them.
