I Purchased A Vauxhall Astra From Them A Few Weeks
I purchased a vauxhall astra from them a few weeks ago that came with a 30day warranty from themselves, I had a breakdown lucky while it was still in the driveway due to faulty computer (granted there wern't to know) I called them that same day someone came round to look at it for me this was the thursday and said that they were unable to fix it and would have to call a computer engineer. He took the keys from me as I work most days and said someone will call round tomorrow to collect it. Monday morning my car was still on the drive I called them to ask when they will be fixing it and they said it will not be till the tuesday!!
I now have my car back in full working order (fingers crossed) im just dissapointed in there aftersales care. Would it have been so hard for them to call me on the friday to let me know what was going on but other than that i found them ok, got a good deal on the car and came with 12months MOT 6months tax and half a tank (never hurts to be cheeky) and from date of purchase to when i could pick up the car was less than a week.

I Am An Lady Of 71 Years, Who Works As A Carer In
I am an lady of 71 years, who works as a carer in peoples homes. I need to travel long distances to get to work, and part of my job is providing transport to elderly and frail patients. I was sold Vauxhall Astra by this garage, for 300 over the book price, after I had explained the work I do to him.
When I got back I found that the service light was on, taking it to kwik fit I found that it would cost £184 straight away for a new cam belt. This I discovered was part of its service schedule, which I had not been informed that it needed prior to purchase. I went on a job to Bradford, and when I got there, I found the alternator had failed. I found Mr Stokes most unhelpful on the phone. I had to pay for recovery to the main dealer in Bradford, where I discovered it needed a new alternator, and was told that the clutch had also burnt out. It also had a number of electrical faults, including a faulty brake light sensor, fuel gauge (which could have left me and my patient stranded!) and Antilock Braking System which could have caused an accident.
Thankfully my Local garage, Riddings Service Centre essentially rescued me by arranging recovery back to Scunthorpe and fixing the problems thoroughly at a very reasonable cost (including a box of chocolates!), and all within 24 hours of me returning. I had been without a car for a fortnight. I can thoroughly recommend his services, the same cannot be said for R. Stokes & Son, Brigg Rd, Scunthorpe.
