I Purchased My Saab Areo Convertible From New In 2
I purchased my SAAB Areo convertible from new in 2007. It's a superb car that turns heads all the time. Great drive. Its image is way better than BMW or Audi!! Google "BMW drivers" before buying a BMW.

I Purchased My Saab 9-3 Convertible Last April (08
I purchased my Saab 9-3 convertible last April (08) nothing but regrets, the cars noisy, equipment is poorly built and basically rattles, furthermore when having it washed you see water coming in (not loads but you see it running down the front side two windows) not to mention wind noise, not happy at all and am selling this pretty soon and go back to the Germans, my mate has the Audi A4 convertible and its a dream compared to the Saab, I previously had the BMW 325ci sport, problem free and such a nice drive. I bought my saab privatley with only 14K miles and one owner with full service history and remaining 6months warranty, however the warranty ran out October, and since then the heater blower has worn out and now will cost me £260, the windows have a mind of there own, keep going up and down (something to do with the anti pinch sensors) again more money!!! Perhaps I got a GM production error car, but the car's terrible which is reflected on used Saab aero prices, these things can be bought for peanuts, where as its rivals are still holding value.

I Contemplated The Audi 2.5 Tdi And The Bmw 330ci.
I contemplated the Audi 2.5 tdi and the BMW 330ci. Audi to slow, Bimmer too expensive. So the best compromise is the Saab 9-3 aero 210, and I have no regrets so far.

I Get A New Convertible About Every 4 Months And T
I get a new convertible about every 4 months and this Saab 9-3 Aero Convertible is the second one I have had and I've never been disappointed with mine! I must admit that the satellite navigation screen is simply put there so we can look the part, as it really doesn't help! My postcode searches 60% of the time doesn't work! But who cares? It looks good and the car is fast but doesn't put a hole in my pocket because it returns an average fuel economy, unlike my old Mercedes SLK, which really put a hole in my pocket. All my cars are all bought and not company leased so I run them myself, so I always go for a fuel economical jeep like my XC90. I'm saying this because it just proves how environmentally friendly it really is.

I Disagree With Austin Re The Phone - I Get Good R
I disagree with Austin re the phone - I get good reception and I suppose its down to your phone service supplier. The sat nav has basic post code search so you can search, say WC2 and then find your street from a list - It is a bit cumbersome having to turn the knobs, a nice touch screen would have been good but it does cover Western Europe.
Good boot space - even with the top down I can get a full set of golf clubs in but not the trolley. The hood remote opening is great (I looked at the A4 Cabriolet which had a little shelf which you had to put down manually and then go and press your button to lower the roof - doh!)

I Have Had My Saab 9-3 Aero Convertible 2.0t Auto
I have had my Saab 9-3 Aero Convertible 2.0T Auto 210 bhp 2005 Sports Car for three month and it has been great fun. A real peformance car with good looks and good road manners that turns heads. Beware of the sat nav which is a heap of junk. It has no postcode search and for business users it is hopeless as there are no business parks listed. The integral phone is hopeless too. The sound quality is appalling when the car is moving. This option cost £1600. Forget it!
I agree with this review - my sat-nav + GSM phone are rubbish! I disagree with the bad fuel economy though!
I agree with your comments on the Sat Nav, My old Omega had a better system! Mine often locks up, the traffic info is unreliable and it is not as intuitive to use as some, and I agree it would be easier if you could locate by postcode as well as address.
1 year and 18,000 miles later, I still would recommend this car, despite minor niggles with interior trim quality not quite being up to BMW/Audi standard.

Wow! This Saab 9-3 Aero Convertible 2.0t Auto 210
Wow! This Saab 9-3 Aero Convertible 2.0T Auto 210 bhp 2005 sports car really puts a smile on your face every time you get in it. Forget the miserable Mercedes, boring BMWs and dowdy boxy Audis, the Saab is superior in every way, more fun and is a great drivers car. The interior is vast compared to the competition and the seats are worth buying the car for alone. Take a test drive and see for yourself.

Just Taken Delivery Of 2005 Model Saab 9-3 Aero Co
Just taken delivery of 2005 model Saab 9-3 Aero Convertible 2.0T Auto 210 bhp 2005 sports car to replace a much loved (but impractical for high mileage) S2000 Honda.
This is the second Saab I have had, previously had a 97 model 900 Conv 2.0T, which was a great cruising car but show it a corner and it went all wobbly, and so did I very often!.
The new car is a quantum leap forward in build quality which I think matches or exceeds Audi/BMW (no contest with Mercs, which are total rubbish and the dealers a joke).
I looked at the Audi A4 3.0, but the spec is so poor compared to the Saab. The spec I have got on the Saab would have been about £43,000 on the A4 and it is not £10K better than the Saab if at all. Nice engine on the 3.0 A4 though.
I have got Sat Nav, full 13 speaker stereo (awesome - well worth it) in fact more toys than Hamleys plus a very refined and fast drive.
After the S2000 it seems a bit slow, until you look at the speedo! The performance is very different from the old Saab that was frantic and scrabbled for grip, the new car feels very secure and is unbelievably quiet with hood up at 3 figure speeds. The auto box could be a bit better, it seems a bit slow on the changes, but I have got the "tiptronic" option so can take over manually if I want.
Still running in at the moment, and it does seem very tight and fuel consumption on spirited (not too spirited, honest Saab UK!) cross country runs is about 22mpg which is a bit heavy I think.
I have a dodgy back (used to need a crane to get out of the S2000!), and I think Saab's have the best seats of any car bar none for comfort.
All in all very pleased, I wanted a refined long distance car that looks good hood up and down (wind deflector is a good investment) and the Saab is excellent value and if the reliability is as good as my last one I will be delighted with it - so far so good, no faults on delivery and an excellent handover from Ballards Saab.
update - after 4 months and nearly 9,000 miles I am still delighted with the car, it has been faultless, not used a drop of oil (my last S2000 used as much oil as petrol!). Still think the auto box is the weakest link, a VW/Audi DSG type would be better, but still for my use, lots and lots of traffic jams I prefer the auto. It could use a bit more go, but at least the fuel consumption has got better as the engine has loosened up and it's now around 27 mpg average, which is still a bit low but better than a chelsea tractor!
