Joke

Recently had an mvi inspector check my car for a customer. The guy checking out the car didn't know anything about it, he didn't drive it and did little more than take lots of pics to gloss up the report no doubt.

I understand people fall mostly for their sales pitch and quick turnaround. It's not worth it. I've had AA and RAC checks done to cars I've sold in the past and they are far superior.

I believe there may be other independent vehicle inspectors who could do a better job and would advise you to look elsewhere.

Same old story of a dealer with a bad vehicle - Our reports are fair and comprehensive. If your stock is good then our report will be good it really is as simple as that!

Peace Of Mind - Cheaper Than The Big Boys

I used these guys in order to save money compared to the AA and RAC. The service was probably superior in that they were able to offer an inspection the following day and report back promptly. The result was both peace of mind in that they recommended the purchase and negotiating power with the dealers in that they agreed to address some minor faults which the inspection identified. I was able to simply then drive away without pretending I knew what to look out for and with complete peace of mind - priceless.

Fantastic Service!

I came across MVIUK when I was buying an 07 Mercedes SLK200. I know nothing about cars, and was impressed with their website. I then came to this website, and was impressed with the reviews here - including their reasoned response to a poor review!

Communications were very good, and the car was inspected within 48 hours of me booking the inspection. Si contacted me by phone that afternoon, and gave me a full verbal report, explaining all the technical parts clearly. The report was good, and when I received the report documents by email later the same afternoon I was again impressed with the thorough and professional way they were done. Lots of useful photos helped me to see exactly what was meant. Si was really pleasant to talk to, and he knew the SLK series well, having had one.

When I spoke to the car dealer after the inspection, he told me he was impressed with Si's thoroughness, the length and professionalism of the inspection. He asked which firm I had used, and I think he may be going to recommend MVIUK to his customers!

I am going ahead with the purchase, secure in the knowledge that there are no nasty surprises lurking around the corner for me.

Absolute Life Savers!!

The review was fantastic. Lengthy and details, the guys communicated well with both myself and the seller. I was sent the details report quite quickly as I was due to purchase the heap of junk. The car had many hidden problems which could have potentially been dangerous and costly. This particular car was rubbish, however, for peace of mind and savings of potentially 1000's of ££££ I am willing to look again and have another inspection.

I really appreciate this kind of service. Thank YOU!!!

Inspection Of Merc Cl55 Amg

I would normally inspect the car myself, but due to working on a ship this time is wasnt possible for me. I paid MVI,and with in an hour they had arranged to inspect the car the next day with the dealer. The inspection was done and i recived a phone call from the inspector simon that evening. he gave me a detailed summary that helped build and good picture of the car. The following day before lunch time i receicved the full report with a good selection of pictures to accompany it, including lots i wouldnt of noticed my self.

After digesting it all, i struck a deal with the dealer, and had the issues raised resolved, and got the car cheaper than the listed price too.

The service was brillant and very professional. I will definately be using them again for future purchases, even if i go to look at the car myself!

I will also recommend them to friends and family.

I saw a review on here from a dealer, and after the service i just got, its clear he was obviuosly just annoyed that he had lost a sale.

10/10 keep it up MVI

Now Thats What I Call A Good Service!

Frustratingly I am an engineer but I just did not have the time to view this car prior to purchase as I am some 120 miles away. I used Mvi as my 'eyes and ears' and lets face it my time and fuel costs were well worth the fee alone. Well, I was more than impressed with the overall package and there were numerous faults shown although as stated by Mvi a lot of them were to be expected on a used car which was fine by me and a few other bits were dealt with by the seller. This service in my opinion is a must and a bargain.

Etienne June 13th, 2010 11:37 pm I enjoyed the alctire, thanks! I do however feel that the alctire would have been better described as How to engage customers on a e-commerce website using reviews & product rating or something like that. Still helpful alctire!I would love to find an alctire somewhere comprehensively explaining the do's and don'ts of customer engagement on e-commerce websites. Giving examples and detailing elements like, layout, to little vs. to much product information, categorizing of products, site navigation, focus areas, all round customer interaction, on-line support etc. I suppose that all this info in one alctire would be called a book! Anyway, it would have been nice

Saved Me £400 And Peace Of Mind

Bought the car from over 400 miles away from an established dealer but Matt still found some fault that the dealer fixed. Matt did a thorough check or should I say Ortopsy with 100 pictures taken, some which I didn't recognise. The Inspector found scratches which I have yet to discover. Cheaper than the AA without the hard sell of a more expensive product. Inspection carried out the day after with report e mailed and follow up call at 7pm the same day.

Tested A Potential Vehicle Purchase For Me

Easy to deal with, prompt response, great communication followed by a clear and concise report with plenty of photos.

On top of that price was competitive.

Really cant say any more than that. They did what they said they'd do, did it well and did it quickly!

I'm one very satisfied customer

A Scam Masquerading As A Service..

Well, there's a lot of people saying how wonderful they are in faulting cars, but in the interests of balance, try a dealers view of these people...A customer who had agreed to buy a full franchised historied car from us employed this lot to inspect it...When they showed up I had a quick chat with them about their business and was very suprised to hear them say that they were looking to "volumise" their business from each instruction and hope to get 3 or 4 inspections (and fees) out of each of their customers! Now it doesn't take a genius to work out what that means..They then spent less than half an hour "inspecting" the car, which solely involved taking a lot of photos to make the report look good, as opposed to actually inspecting the car, and then never even drove it!! The "report" that they compiled then slated the car saying it needed brakes, had a "substantial" power steering leak and suspected accident damage...Unfortunately, their lack of due diligence caught them out, because if they had gone through the service history as they should have done, they would have seen an invoice from a Mercedes Benz franchised dealer only 200 miles ago for a major service...In which the brakes were renewed!!?...The MB dealer also made no mention of a power steering leak, and they are not in the habit of not mentioning any work that requires doing, as anyone who's been to a Merc dealer will well know! And on inspection by ourselves, guess what? No power steering leak! The accident damage was also nonsense...The result of which, the customer had the fear of God put up him, cancelled the deal and went off to look at other cars and obviously pay again to then have them inspected!!...Great scam hey!? Wish I'd thought of it!! I'm fully aware that second hand dealers have never had the best reputation (unjustly in my view) But I haven't met many as unscrupulous as this lot...Stay well clear, unless you want to fork out for 4 or 5 fees, and probably miss out on a perfectly decent car in the process. If you want a car checked out..save your money and get your local mechanic to look at it..He'll be far more objective, won't be looking to "volumise" his business, and you never know, he might even drive it :)

Oooh, touchy!! Well at least I agree, make you're own mind up up...Love the comments....Look underneath any 6 year old, 50,000 mile car (hardly "low mileage", that's why it was £30,000 less than a new one) and it's not pretty when you put it under a microscope with the sole intention of terrifying people!! The brakes are the best pictures....They're brand new! With surface corrosion that occurs after any car is parked for a week, that's why they put put wax on new cars!! If it had been actually driven it would have come off in 100 yards...And "the leak"' is nothing of the kind, stick your head under your own car and it'll look like that, if not much worse...I've made my point and totally agree, have at look at the pictures and I think they'll support me to anyone who has any experience of owning and buying a used car...end of subject :)

We take great pride in what we do - We are very realistic in our inspections and understand that cars do have issues and advise accordingly as most good dealers will look after their customers putting defects right. Take a look at the photos and decide for yourself bearing in mind that this is a low mileage, prestige Mercedes. But, I am sure the 'Anonomous Reviewer' will come back and state that the pictures are not of his car or have been 'doctored'. Truth hurts....... Here they are:

Sussedthemout

Complete rubbish...I offered to put some diesel in it to which their response was "Don't bother we only spin 'em round the block" And they didn't even do that!! The Merc dealer didn't mention ANY oil leaks, because there were none...There was the tiniest bit of residue on a gaiter that ANY 5 year old car will have, that was then photographed to death, and portrayed as a catastrophe in the report...

Here's the closing comments on the report :-

"We have taken lots of photographs of the vehicle for you detailing the faults found, In my

opinion I would look elsewhere for this type of vehicle. The vehicle itself is not the standard I

would expect with regards to the paintwork and the dealer did not inspire me with confidence"

Hmmm...that's objective isn't it....KERCHING!!! Next fee please....

If you can't take some criticism, then you shouldn't dish it out with subjective prejudicial nonsense I'm afraid...:)

mikemviuk

As Co-owner of MViUK it worries me to have feedback such as this. The one thing we do not and never will do is to dream up faults to try and get more than one inspection out of one buyer. We are busy enough and our GENUINE reviews say it all. This particular vehicle had MAJORITY PAINTWORK and the bonnet had been removed for what reason we do not know. Furthermore, we did not put in the report that it had suffered accident damage as the dealer suggests. The dealer is correct that we did not drive this MB and that was because the fuel guage was well beyond empty and the computer was showing 0 mile range. The dealer had at least 24 hours notice that we would be inspecting this vehicle and could and should of had it ready for us. The oil leak was written up in the report as 'Significant fluid leak which I believe is from the steering rack, I cannot be certain due to lack of visual access to this area but this definately needs further investigation'. Yes, we back up every report with numerous photographs and because this buyer was in Australia we did more than usual. In fact, we did not advise the buyer NOT to buy this vehicle, we just reported the findings which is what we are paid to do.

Great Safety Net!

As the car I was interested in was a long way away I asked MVI to check the vehicle which they did immediately. I was really happy with their report, so be aware of any 'private' sale in Salford where a lady is running clocked cars.

Worth the money to avoid the dodgy trader.
