Shocking Company, Sold My Dad A Car, It Broke Down
Shocking company, sold my Dad a car, it broke down within 6 months and caused about £2,000 damage. Not in the least interested when we contacted them, took them to the small claims court, and having not replied to the summons, we won the case. They then asked for the judgement to be set aside, arrived without sending us a copy of their defence, and then just told a pack of lies. Lost all faith in the small claims system as a result. Avoid these people like the plauge !! You have been warned.

As A Previous Review Has Pointed Out If You Go To
As a previous review has pointed out if you go to Ian Shipton Cars make sure you ask to see ALL the paperwork including Ian Shipton Cars own service paperwork because they had told me they had serviced the car so I assumed any issues would have been addressed but when I had paid for the car they produced the service paperwork and the car needed front discs and pads, this was never mentioned and in my view was purposely kept quiet. Also they advised they would MOT the car and when I came back to pick it up it hadn't been done. Then when I had arranged for the MOT they then tried to charge me for it. So you may think you are getting a bargain but at the end of the day you probably end up paying more in the long run. Unfortunately I certainly wouldn't recommend them to any friends and I would be extremely careful and thorough with your questions if you do decide to visit them.

Ian Shipton Cars Have Reasonably Priced Cars. I F
Ian Shipton Cars have reasonably priced cars. I found that they try to sell you everything to go with your vehicle, extended warranty, wheel protection, service plan, new for old insurance where you pay to keep the original value of your car in the case of an accident. It seems as though after Sales and customer support is none existing. Difficult to speak to a salesman. I've yet to receive the free sat nav that was offered with every vehicle sold.

You Will Stand A Good Chance Of Getting A Bargain.
You will stand a good chance of getting a bargain.
But what you save may be lost in hassle, frustration and personal visits should there be any problems.
A couple of tips from my experience get everything written down, signed and ask for a copy. Do not drive off the premises until you are totally satisfied that everything is in order. If any promises or additional work is agreed ask the salesman for a date (in writing) when it will be completed. Hopefully you will have a better experience than me.
