Appalling, A Truly Horrendous Companny
I bought a Ford Focus C-Max from this shower in December 2008, which broke down a mere two weeks later, on Christmas Day. We were towed home, with a clearly ruined Christmas on our hands. As GoCar were closed, and it was critical that we had a running car for my wife to travel to work, the repairs were done by a local garage (knackered dual mass flywheel - £800 repair).
GoCar completely brushed off our plight when we explained what had happened, saying they needed to examine the car in it’s disrepair. Fair enough, but we had the clearly defective dual mass flywheel which they were not interested in taking a look at. This all happened, despite the car being sold to us with a full RAC points check. They were dismissive on the telephone, didn’t care, were rude, accused me of incorrect use of the clutch (nonsense, and remember, we’d only had it TWO WEEKS!), and they could not even rustle any sort of goodwill gesture to help pay for the repairs, which definitely would have help in gaining repeat custom from me in the future.
Please, for your own good, avoid. This sorry episode happened a couple of years ago but it still annoys me to this day!

The Car Has A Few Small Problems And Within 1 Mont
the car has a few small problems and within 1 month warranty, however they are impossible to contact on the phone and have not returned letters or email contact.
Also Bought tax with car for a year. But received a letter from the post office saying that the cheque use to purchase the tax had bounced. I have to pay the road tax again or receive a fine. very stressful and a huge waste of time trying to deal with these scam artists
Gocar went bust in January 2011.
I live in the area and unfortunately the company you are trying to contact appear to have gone into administration - that or someone has stolen all the cars and furniture.
Hope this helps.

I Have Just Purchased A Vw Golf Which Is My 5th Ca
I have just purchased a VW Golf which is my 5th car from gocar, and once again I am more than happy with the level of service I received. After searching the internet for weeks to find the car I wanted, Gocar once again could not be beaten. The car was the cheapest and the best presented I had seen, and was exactly as described by the salesman. They even beat the quote that I had for my loan. I wouldnt hesitate to recommend them to anybody.

Bought an Audi A6, but test drove a BMW 5 series. Both sales & management were extremely helpful& friendly. There was no sales pressure & a pleasure to deal with. When I collected my car it was fully valeted to a high standard & the sales person Chris did a full handover of paperwork & demonstrated the car controls etc. This is my 1st car purchase from Gocar & would buy again from these guys.

Buying The Car: M
BUYING THE CAR:
Me and my college visited the GOCAR site in June 2010 to view there range of cars, within 10 mins I was approached by a salesman (as expected). I showed interest in a Mazda 6 Sakata, I asked the salesman what the Sakata model had that others may not. He clearly knew nothing about the car as the then told me, the wheels where different and it had a 6 changer CD player and neon lights.
I requested a test drive, this was fine .clearly I do not carry 6 CD's around with me but the salesman showed me the load button for the changer. I had no reason to doubt the salesman after all he worked for GOCAR selling cars for a living.
We got back to the showroom following the test drive, I sat down at agreed a deal on the car and paid £7000 over. During the negotiation I had noticed the car was also due a service after pointing this out was told this "would be taken care of" for me.
So at this stage I understood I had bought a Mazda 6 Sakata Diesel that had some great features including the 6 CD changer and neon lights. I also was told the service required "would be taken care of".
I had a private plate on my old car which I requested GOCAR to arrange the transfer, they informed me they could not do this and filled in some forms for me to sort out. When I visited the local DVLA centre they informed me the garage should have done this and it would have only cost £80 not £200!
During me signing the paperwork for the new car, the finance manager was moaning to me about people who remove radios, CD players etc from there part exchanges telling me in fact this was theft.
THEN COLLECTION AND AFTERCARE:
I collected the car, as its always exciting getting your hands on a new motor I went over to GOCAR to collect the car with my wife. When I got home a looked through the paperwork, handbook etc NO SERVICE BEING DONE. I called GOCAR to be called a Liar, they said service inspection! I called my college thinking I had gone mad, who confirmed they had agreed to service the car. GOCAR refused this was agreed pointing me to the contact I had signed.
I let this go and tried to enjoy my new motor although did not like being called a Lair! A few days later a good friend of mine required a car, I took him to GOCAR thinking over all they had been ok, good car at a good price. He also bought a car for £6500 that day, when I was at GOCAR I informed the salesman that sold me the Mazda, I could not get the 6 CD changer to function. He told me to speak to service and they would sort it out in front of another witness.
As I don't live in Scunthorpe I took the car to the main dealer Mazda, who informed me the car does not have a CD changer or neon lights. As you can imagine I was mad! No service, No CD changer I had been stolen from!
I called them salesman who then admitted it was his fault and he was sorry he said his manager would call me back. His manager true to his word called me back "after speaking to the salesman, he said he never told you it had a 6 CD changer" despite the sales admitting 20mins before he did.
All I got is nothing we can do, look at your contract, we never advertised the car with a 6 CD changer (I never viewed the car via an advert).
GOCAR had in fact legally mis-sold me the car it would seem!
At this stage the car was in a local garage un-driveable due to another major fault not covered as they only give a 1000 mile or 30 day warranty.
After speaking with there Sales Manager I had agree to get my wallet out again, after fixing the Mazda to in fact return the car and part exchange on another losing a further £1000, this was agreed. I then got a call from the same sales manager who informed me they did not want the Mazda as a part exchange or to deal with me again ..
SUMMARY:
1. Was mis-sold the car
2. Robbed of a Service
3. Had a 6 CD changer stolen from me
4. 8 weeks later had a car I could not drive and was in the garage
5. Called a Lair on several occasions
All this despite having witnesses and getting them a further sale .
I need legal advice on this ..
SORRY about the spelling, web spell checker changed it to american setting i think.

I R0ang Gocar Scunthorpe About A Seat - Asked Ques
I r0ang Gocar Scunthorpe about a SEAT - asked questions to save a long journey. FSH? - yes. 12 months MOT and be serviced? Yes. Open to negotiation? Only a little. They suggested I ring before visiting and it would be ready for a test drive so I did. On arrival (100 miles round trip) told straightaway - no negotiation on price so not to waste time on a test drive if I wanted to. Talking to a second man discovered there was no service history at all in service book - just 1 garage invoice of some sort at 20000 miles. When I said I had been told there was FSH I couldn't believe it when the 1st man, supposedly a manager, said it would be a salesman trying to get me to the showroom! Despite arranging the test drive, car wouldn't start and they messed around with the battery and eventually got it going. However two warning lights remained on throughout the test drive, I was instructed where to drive - about a mile up the road and back - totally inadequate. One warning light on was the engine management system, the salesman no idea what the other was - said it was ok just the battery! Manager who said he had bought in the car said FSH meant nothing - 3 out of 4 cars don't have one and women are the worst for not keeping it up to date! Finally told there MAY be a 12 months MOT depending on what was left and no full service. I contacted them by e mail the next day for some explanation but no reply. Could not give them any stars at all - be warned, what they say on their website and what the do are miles apart! I wish I had read the other reviews before I wasted a journey

We Found A Car We Wanted To Test Drive And Then Ge
We found a car we wanted to test drive and then get a quote on a part ex. We were told that unless we were going to buy the car we could not enter into negotiations. We argued How can I say I am going to buy the car if I don't know what the offer on the table is. After the guy (supposedly the manager) refused to listen to some seriously interest customers with £7k ready to spend we walked out and purchased a car from their another company who wanted our business. DO NOT EVEN BOTHER GOING HERE they obviously have no concept of customer service.

I Have Bought 2 Cars From Gocar But Never Again. I
I have bought 2 cars from GoCar but never again. I traded my first car back in to them thinking I would get a good deal, but was told I had paid too much for it so was now worth next to nothing. Alarm bells should have been ringing but my wife had her heart set on the new car. Was told the new car had an up to date service record when in fact it was overdue a service by a long way. Was also told the car had an RAC inspection but no I had to pay for this with the deposit and have still not received the report only the basic version. Never would I buy a car from these people again.
I Paid £300 Deposit To Gocar On 27th May Fo
I paid £300 deposit to GoCar on 27th May for a used Vayxhall Astra advertised as in immaculate condition. When I went to view the car, it appeared that the car had had scratched dashboard, broken cigarette lighter cover, whistling noise coming from the engine and was pulling to the left. GoCar promised to refund the deposit next day but I am still unable to recover my money. I am taking actions against them. Would definitely not recommend to anyone.
