I have just bought this helmet to replace my old Arai and so far I'm shocked at how quiet it is. The wind noise has been reduced so much that it now almost feels like I'm riding a different bike. I have gone for the Journey TC-2 (White, Blue and Red) model and the colours are great and the shape is amazing. The inbuilt sunvisor is so nice to use and when filtering it makes the helmet so much more usable. In the hot weather you can ride with the Visor open but the sun visor down, this is allowing so much air in to keep you cool but your eyes are still protected.

Probably not a good idea to ride with the main visor up and sun visor down. It will not protect your eyes if something hits it and will shatter if a stone flicks up. And also there is no treatment on it so you will end up with the surface finish degrading quickly, getting pitted from grit etc following vehicles. This goes for all the internal sun visor helmets.

Shoei said the QSV-1 internal sun visor is of the same quality as the face shield and it "exceeds ANSI Z80.3-2010 standard for non-prescription eyewear". It is optically correct and anti-scratch and anti-fog treated.
