“Awful, absolutley awful do not trust!!!”

★☆☆☆☆

written by MotorcycleCrashMan on 23/05/2019

Not impressed with this company, they tell you different year of bikes to get a sale and higher price. I bought a 2008 CBR1000RR Fireblade, they delivered a 2007 CBR1000RR fireblade!! I could get the same bike £1000 cheaper, so not happy one bit. DO NOT TRUST THIS COMPANY! They even tried to work there way out by sending me photos of the listing, minus the details that were actually there when I bought it. Luckily for me I have been done over before by an online bike shop/seller so took precautions this time, screen shots of the actual autotrader ad. I sent this and then they never responded knowing full well they are now in trouble. Will see them in court.

“Worst "dealership" I've ever encountered ”

★☆☆☆☆

written by SCOOBY9R on 22/02/2016

I was all set to buy a Ducati Diavel Stripe at £10000, I put a holding deposit on the bike as I wasn't able to see the bike for a week as I work offshore. They held the bike no problem, I then travelled from Edinburgh to Manchester to have a test ride as I'd never ridden a Diavel before. On arrival, once the salesman had finished on his call, 10 minutes. I was dealt with in a proficient manner, but was then told that as it was raining a test ride would be out of the question!! FFS! I'd done a total round trip of 460 miles and wasn't granted the promised test ride. Not to worry though I loved the bike and we hammered out a deal,as a cash buyer I thought there would be some bargaining, negotiated waiving the administration fee£99 that was it on top of the derisory offer of £1500 trade in on my mint 02 R1, I was still not put off. When asked about the possibility of fitting a Scottoiler the salesman confirmed my suspicion that his motorcycle knowledge was scant at best, "Oh not sure that's possible, we'll need to contact Ducati" Eh? It's a Scottoiler! Not a jet engine! Still not to be put off I asked for a day to think about the deal and said I'd call back on Sunday. I call back on Sunday, fully decided that I'm taking the bike, salesman was busy, message left to call to call me Asap, 16:50 and no return call! Called again spoke to another salesman and by this time I'm mucho peeved off, tell him that this is not the way to broker a £10,000 deal and get salesman A to call back toot sweet! Salesman A calls back full of apologies, it's been manic! Too manic to seal a £10K deal? At this point I'm having severe misgivings about doing any business, but I really want the bike! I ask salesman A to get back in touch first thing Monday, he doesn't so that's me decided, the deal is off! I call him inform him to refund my deposit as the deal is off "That's fine no problem thanks" I mean What the F! He's just lost the deal and he can't even be bothered to come back with some kind of counter or query as to why the deal is off. I'd have had more interest from my local newsagents if I were to cancel my subscription to MCN than he mustered for an expensive motorcycle sale. If this is what they're like buying the bike then God help you if you have any subsequent issues with it. My advice avoid!

Reading between the lines, I believe I understand and I share your frustration, I too have missed out on a deal on something I really wanted.

To be fair using your own account you appear to have talked yourself out of the deal,

The chap you dealt with in your words “ I was dealt with in a proficient manner” is somebody that I have worked with for over 20 years and he will be grateful for your kind words.

Prior to you travelling down to see us, as part of the negotiation to buy the bike, we fitted two brand-new tires on your behalf in with the price, these tires had not had the opportunity to be Scrub in.

Brand-new tires can catch you out on a bike you have ridden daily even on a clear day, so a bike this size and power with brand new tires on a rainy day is a recipe for disaster something we mentioned in Conversations you had on the telephone before you chosen take the journey to us.

That being sed you had travelled considerable distance so I understand your frustration with the oldham weather.

With accessories to be fitted we would always consult with a trained mechanic or the manufacture to ensure you receive the best solution.

Finally as a company policy we find it best not to force a sale/contract, if you requested refund for your deposit this is done without question, over the years I've seen the dealerships forcing a sale and we are not comfortable in that type of sales environment.

If you was to give us a second opportunity I would happily deal with you personally to ensure the best experience.

“rubbish after sales”

★☆☆☆☆

written by Karendou on 02/08/2015

My husband purchases a bike at the end of may. It leaks fuel and has been back several times for replacement parts. The after sales manager has now said no fault can be found even though he confirmed when he collected it on one occasion that there was fuel on the barge floor and the fumes were over powering. Kare n in after sales who I think is an illusion will only communicate by email.we have not had one conersartion with her. I have written to the m d at his home address and he couldn't be bothered to contact us either. The bike is still faulty and it is now august. Do not waste your money here go to a reputable company.

The resolution to this matter was a full refund, this was upsetting for all parties involved as your husband made it clear he liked the bike.

There was a intermittently faulty manufacturers part, a small petrol pipe that connected the fuel tank to the bike which was weeping from the manufacturer sealed joint.

The bike was an immaculate Yamaha MT-03 with low mileage and the fault was near impossible to detect, as it was intermittently weeping and with the very nature of the fuel evaporating.

We was unable to diagnose the fault on the first two occasions and in truth replaced the manufacturer's part with one brand new ordered from Yamaha direct just to eliminate it not because we felt it was faulty but just remove it from the list the part cost less than £10 and it just made sense to eliminate it at that price.

we replace this part very early on not knowing there was a faulty batch and our brand-new part had exactly the same manufacturers flaw as the part we had replaced it with.

we understood your husband was not best pleased, we had spoken to him at length regarding the issue at the time and it was clear there had been two attempts at repairing the bike for the same fault.

we only allow a third attempt and on the rare occasion this happens we offer a full refund, ultimately we are grateful your husband give us the opportunity to continue to investigate as he did not want to get the bike back for a full refund but understandably wanted it fixed.

I got the opportunity to get to know your husband I did say when I bump into him at the local we will have a pint and probably laugh about it.

“Rip off merchants”

written by clarkie990 on 23/07/2015

My feedback, largely, is I was left somewhat disappointed in the suggested value offered for my Honda Fireblade as a part exchange against another bike SMB were selling. My bike is an excellent condition, 2000 Blade with 4,400 miles on the clock (full details were passed over the telephone). I was offered £1,500 as a part-ex deal. Whilst I appreciate they are a business, not a charity, at the time this offer was made they were selling another Blade of the same model, with 30,000 miles for £2,950 (approx) and are currently selling a Blade without a fairing, 28k miles for £2,500. (At present, another dealer is advertising a similar mileage/condition bike to mine for just under £5,000) I feel that the offer I was made for my bike was little short of derisory, notwithstanding the fact that I assume SMB would have also been making a profit on the bike I was interested in purchasing as well. I have subsequently noted that the bike I was interested in was advertsied as having 2994 miles on the clock, but is now amended to having 10,000 miles. Overall, really disappointing. The accuracy of adverts has got to be made out when so much business is attracted on-line. Staff were polite when speaking to me on the telephone, but dismissive when I said their valuation was not remotely appropriate. I have purchased a bike from elsewhere and won't be returning/recommending SMB given my experience.

Firstly clarkie, I will like to thank you for your kind words "Staff were polite when speaking to me on the telephone" and we apologise you feel the part exchange valuation was less then you had anticipated, there are many factors that effects a vehicles valuation, age, mileage, overall condition, how many we have in stock etc etc and there is always human error, as it may seem to be on this occasion all be it I have not got the condition reports in front of me to confirm.

With our online advertising we check daily and audit monthly over the years we have found this to be essential and it seems on this occasion it was corrected. we are very grateful you have taken the time to give us your feedback and if you was to give us a 2nd opportunity to help you, give me Gc a call I will assist you personally.

“Worst service ever ”

Left me stood about for an hour after I'd bought my bike to tell me it has no mot after ringing up and telling me to collect it WORST SERVICE EVER!

Hi
I can only apologise to your self and publicly, we do not have a procedure problem here as pre delivery inspections are quite robust and most certainly cover the need for a mot. As a group the original team of people here have been working together for over 20 years and the mot box is one ticked in the early days, this was a moment of human error, our team member has work with us for 15 years and on this day he just missed it. So we both apologise and are happy you gave us the opportunity to resolve the issue Thanks Gary.

“Poor customer service”

written by on 04/07/2015

I bought my ducati 1098s from you, rode down on my part exchange bike to complete the deal. When I got there the rep advised the bike had a faulty rectifier fitted. Would give me £20 from the petty cash to cover the 3 hour journey and fuel.. (Didn't receive)! The bike was delivered two weeks later. Wish scratches to the fairings and damaged wheels, oh along with a driver who flooded the bike and flattened the battery. I then went on holiday two weeks later and the supposide new part failed and melted. As I had paid over £300 for extended warranty should have been fixed. You picked the bike up advised ordered a part and would be there over two weeks ago. Back and forward with emails but wouldn't speak to me on the phone. Eventually recieved a call from mile, who advised ducati Manchester had posted a part out and would be there next day. Had bike valeted and would raise a cheque as a gwg, now the return date has been pressed further out. Sure further updates shall be posted.

1st its important to know how this unfortunate situation was resolved, I personally as the founder of the Company spent time getting to understand the issues. As a resolution we gave a “like for better” replacement, a Ducati 1098s that was almost one full year Younger with only a fraction of the Miles.

Any vehicle at some time has the potential to develop a fault, we are grateful on this occasion being given the opportunity to help our customer he receive betterment in the form of a Younger lower milage matching model.

Our Business model and roots was passed down from my father and his father before him, my play ground from very young was a sales forecourt and in all this time, me now being 40 plus, am proud to say not one customer that has had a issue and given us the opportunity to help them, has had a negative outcome.
