I first got in touch with Formoto as they were one of only a few suppliers for Nexus. Matt was exceptional in terms of communication and customer service, from early in discussions it was clear he was an good honest person to deal with. The sizing of helmet I required was currently out of stock but I was provide daily communications as to the status of the order. He did have others in stock it just so happened the one I wanted needed delivered. I would have no hesitation in recommending people using Formotobikes as I for one will shop here again. I base most of my shopping on service and Matt certainly nails it in that department. There were also very competitively priced, I found only a variation of a few pounds between most suppliers.

I was looking for a new helmet that was comfortable, light & stylish. This lid ticks all the boxes - so light I had to double check it was actually in the box !!! Have a Schuberth C3 and wanted something new on the head. Red about the Nexx XR1R Carbon and thought it looked very nice indeed. And I must say that it is fantastic. Much lighter then the C3 and much better field of view. Perahaps you hear the wind slightly more but not very. As for the shop, ForMotorbikers, I must say I ´m very impressed of the service. Only one day deliverytime is impressive!!

I was very hesitant to get the Nexx XR1R Carbon because of the price. I first saw it at the International motorcycle show in Washington DC last winter. I didn't buy it them because of the price although I did like the fit. Ever since then I’ve been regretting that decision, I finally but the bullet and bought the helmet. With the excellent customer service from www.formotorbikes.com it was easy. I got it from Britain to the USA in TWO DAYS!!! I can't even get things from the neighboring states that fast. The helmet itself is great, super light and the field of view if excellent. The foam padding makes for a great fit and I really like to the nose guard. It cuts down on noise really well but not so much that you can't hear other traffic. Only think I don't like so far is the little lip on the face shield, you can open the face shield with it but you close it all the way with the tab. The face shield is to flimsy and flexes too much to close it using the tab. So you have to grab it at the top with you full hand to close it all the way. That’s about the only thing my old Shoei beats this on. Other than that its way better than all my old helmets. Go get it, you won't be disappointed.

Really impressive service and helmet (Nexx XR1R Carbon). Fitted my head shape perfectly without any need for the pads (which was why I intiatially agreed to buy it online). The helmet is incredibly light and the view port so large I didn't really notice the helmet after a while. Nice finish and overall very impressive helmet for the price. I am very happy that I didn't buy Shoei or Arai, I geniuinly think Nexx are the better helmet. Excellent customer support, I will be suggesting this helmet to friends and family.

ForMotorbikes and Nexx XR1.R Carbon Review The service at formotorbikes.com (http://formotorbikes.com/) was spectacular. They got it to me in less than 48 hours (UK to Italy) and Matt kept me in the loop with e-mails above and beyond the automatic replies and a tracking link. They were also friendly, polite and professional. Price: £299 Helmet: 9/10 Service: 10/10 Did it meet expectations? - Yes, 100%. I already knew about the very minor cons with this helmet in advance (see below) from other reviews. Would I buy it again? - Absolutely, the difference between this and my Shoei X-9 is night and day. I tested my new helmet, the Nexx XR1.R Carbon yesterday when I picked up my new-to-me 2009 tricolor. The helmet is, in a word, awesome! Keep in mind I'm comparing it to a Shoei X-9 made 8 years ago (note used for the last 5) and worse helmets, but I think this lid would hold up well against other competitors in the market. I bought the helmet from formotorbikes.com, a UK-based supplier – I'll put a few link to their site later because it's the easiest way to see the variety of colours. I would highly recommend using them because of the excellent service. They deliver quickly and keep you informed about options. They also are very responsive and got back to me very quickly about all my questions. If you don't want carbon, you can save quite a lot of money (£199 or less for the plain version) and will have more design options. I actually wanted one of these, but the supplier didn't have them in stock and I needed the helmet fast. They delivered in 2 days from the UK to Italy. Pros: It really is super light (just a little over 1200g or a bit over 2.5 lbs.) - this means comfort and less neck strain, which means more safety in my opinion in addition to just feeling better in the moment. superb view through eye port – the frames of large sunglasses or my brow block vision before the helmet does. I can see 90 degrees to my right and left without turning my head. Up-down view is also unimpeded, except for the breath guard. Adjustable fit – Shoei, Arai and X-Lite were all too tight around my cheeks/jaw, while Nexx's adjustable fit (velcro stick on cheek pads) make it an excellent fit. It comes with 2mm and 4mm cheek pads as well as pads for the ears if needed. I haven't tried any yet and don't really need them, though I'll try the ear pieces for noise reduction – see below. Low noise when in a tuck. The lid makes a sound a little like a death star door when you lean forward. Padding much more comfortable than my old X-9, but newer lids could be better on this point. Soft padding on chin strap Comes with pinlock anti-fog insert Air flow very good – better than X-9, but I can't compare it to anything else. You can feel it coming in, I never could with my old one. Inside lined with Coolmax material Cons: The only real negative I've read about, and it isn't for me, is the fact that the visor doesn't have a quick change option. If you need to change frequently, this could be a pain, but I never do during a ride. If I need sun protection, I put sunglasses on underneath because I find the dark visors obscure my vision too much at night. The reason for this type of visor attachment is to keep weight down, which is more important to me, but it depends on the person. It can be changed with a small coin in a few minutes. Some noise when sitting more upright – the price of air-flow, I suppose. It's not ideal on the highway, but would be fine for the track (because of the low noise in a tuck – also, you can just use earplugs, which I don't like on the street because I want to hear the traffic when need be.

I live as a Dutchman in Italy and wanted to buy a Nexx Motor helmet. A local dealer of Nexx was 200km away and because Italians live and act very locally my choice was to buy through internet or travel twice 200 km. I chose the internet. Nexx (the manufacturer) recommended a few european internet shops and reviewing their respective sites the clarity and professional impression of the Formotorbikes site struck me right away. The choice of where ordering was made and I have no regrets. Like shopping in the physical store itself. I communicated with one single person, not with a computer. A clear and effective communication which resulted in receiving the helmet properly packed at my house in a village in Italy. Formotorbikes showed no hesitance to cross borders and guided the order and delivery process in a fantastic way. The fact the Nexx is a fairly new company on the scene it's not as easy to find at your local dealer as some other helmet manufacturers, especially here in the U.S.. I live in Massachusetts and the only dealer near me is in Connecticut, and they only carry open face helmets. I've been interested in the XR1-R carbon since last year but they didn't have one with green in it, you see I ride a ZX10R in green. Matching lid is a must. So when Nexx released a new design in green and also in carbon ,I had to have one. Again no local dealer, so I called California, the main office for Nexx in the states and they said that the carbon speed in the new style can only be found in Europe. So I jumped on the old search engine and started working right away I find formotorbikes.com so I take a look and bingo carbon speed in green and at a price that can't be passed up. I use the measuring methods that Nexx recommend , find my size and I pause.. at this point I'm a little weary about ordering a helmet that I've never even held in my hands, never tried on for size. No guts no glory, right? So I tell my thumbs what to do, and with my smartphone I complete the ordering process . The next morning I have an e-mail from Matt@formotorbikes waiting for me confirming the order. I've since have received the helmet and its fantastic,so light, great visibility, and the paint is top notch . I have been riding for 4 years and always advised to never buy a helmet online, but decided to go against that and try it out. Shopping for a new carbon fiber helmet, found Formotorbikes with a very tempting price on a XR1-R, checked the size and went for it, on the same day I was contacted by Matt, checking if he could advise me any further about the sizing and delivery instructions, that was a great experience,soon after my helmet arrived, I was contacted again about the quality of the product and if any further help was required. I was so pleased with the service, I ordered a dark visor for the helmet, that was sent to me on a next day delivery!! All my lids are now going to be purchased from this guys. The helmet is brilliant, very light with plenty of customisation, much superior than my Arai Tour X3. The service is just brilliant, much superior than any shop I have ever been in London. The price was the best I found!

Spotted the Nexx helmet after the 5 star MCN review, visited formotorbikes as I wasn’t sure which design I wanted from the images and wanted to see them in the flesh. What a really nice outfit they are, great to see someone who's passionate about bikes trying their best to provide a great service for bikers. They didn’t have my size in stock for the design I wanted but it was ordered especially for me, came when they said it would and it fits great and looks great too. Its so light, good visibility and comfortable. Also it comes with the pinlock visor that other charge extra for... I'm looking forward to a long blast to get used to it. Nice product, nice people great experience, very highly recommended.
