The website is easy to use and there are convenient drop off points. Those are the good points. The bad points: they don't pay much for items and cheques take the full 21 days to be issued and printed. Then you have to wait for them to be posted and arrive. Plus when you contact customer services they say the cheque has been posted when it hasn't because you get an email two days later to say your cheque has only just been printed. Still at least it's a way of getting a little cash back in the recession.

Prices seem to be dropping to about 25p for most books and CDs. Becoming very difficult to make up a £10 order due to low offer prices so should move to minimum number of items rather than value to complete a sale like Music Magpie. If a sale can't be completed in 7 days then open list is reviewed by Zapper and items are usually rejected by Zapper as no longer required. This makes the process of finding the average 35-40 items required to complete a sale more difficult. Frustratingly, if you re-input the rejected items a few days latter Zapper often offer to buy most of them again! Website is easy and quick to use with very good response times and cheques are sent out much and received much quicker than Music Magpie.

Took a while for money to arrive. Would really like items back if deemed damaged or unsellable.

I have loads of books I need to clear out, and this site looked ideal. When I came to input them however, most of the books were rejected and I ended up having sixteen or so out of forty two accepted. To be fair, they do say only twenty per cent of books will be accepted, but i was surprised at some of the ones they declined. I received the grand total of £16.30, of which £5 was for one text book. Also, Zapper only pay by cheque (which took over a week to arrive) whereas I've since come across other sites that pay by bank transfer. It's possible to sell a few books/games/DVDS and get a little bit of money, but by the time you've dropped the boxes off then trail down to the bank with a cheque it's a bit of a faff for the amount of money you receive when you knock off the cost of petrol. There's still loads of rejected books to deal with too. I'd probably do this again as even a few pounds are better than nothing but I'd use a site that does bank payments.

Zapper doesn't give the best prices on much if you compare your items on different companies doing the same thing. they seem to have recently dropped thier prices making it hard to hit the 10 pound min order. They also don't accept many items when you type them in. Then they reject at depot. On my last 3 orders I chased my cheques 3 weeks after being told they'd been authorised & funnierly enough I was told they were just put in the post today! They seem to be the only company that only pays by cheque, which is a bit of a pain in this online banking age.

Fairly straightforward and good to post books free although can be difficult getting lots of heavy books to Post Office. Used them a couple of times and process everything quite quickly keeping you informed UNTIL that is it comes to payment. They hold out as long as they can - have spoken to others who use and they say you have to chase them a couple of times so my advice is if you haven't received cheque within 5 days of them agreeing the deal send them an email and follow up again until they do pay up. Am exploring other sites so will post whether they are any better.

A bit on the slow side but they DO pay up. Zapper don"t take too many CDs DVDs.

2nd time I've used Zapper and both times it's taken longer than it states on their website. However it is good for giving you a great deal and the website is very easy to use. It's a shame that it doesn't accept all products but I appreciate why it might not want certain books/cd's that are very old. If you are prepared to wait longer than they say it's worth it money wise!

I have used Zapper several times, along with Music Magpie and We Buy Books, according to best price offered. Of the three, We Buy Books are consistently the fastest payers, usually crediting the money to my bank account 5-6 days after posting off. Zapper and Music Magpie are much slower, don't have a bank transfer facility, and Zapper does not let you scan in barcodes. With Zapper and Music Magpie my cheque normally arrives about 4 weeks after posting off the items. Twice with Zapper, I have had to email customer services to chase up my parcels, which were described as "waiting" 2 weeks after posting. That said, I received prompt, curteous replies, and have always been paid in full. Eventually. In summary, a useful service, but not if you are in a hurry for your money.

I have used Zapper a few times and have found it a convenient way of selling items I no longer need. I find the website easy to use and I really like the FREEPOST/courier aspect of the send/collection service. However, each time I have used Zapper, the time period between sale and receipt of cheque has become longer and longer, which I find frustrating. For example, last time there was at least a two week period between the confirmation of my sale and receipt of my cheque. I think this aspect could be speeded up a little. Perhaps it could be made clear to sellers that the cheque may take a couple of weeks to arrive.

Good service, but We Buy Books offers much better prices for books (especially) on about 99% of items, so would recommend checking them first. Free shipping still with Zapper is good though.

I have found Zapper to be useful for recycling Games, CDs, DVDs and a few books. However the prices offered are often so poor that it is not worth doing. Also many items are not wanted. I have several times given up because I felt it was a waste of time. Other sites have given me better prices. Good prices have however been paid in a few circumstances and games are accepted where other sites do not do so. I wish it was easier to know what items are likely to be wanted.

I have enjoyed using Zapper but unfortunately have not yet received my cheque which is a little diappointing

After agreeing to sell most of my books and dvds, I carefully boxed and wrapped them. Believing in the effifiency of our postage system and the company, I expected to be payed on the day that these goods were received. Instead, Zapper made me wait about three weeks for a cheque to come through the post. They desperately need a BACS system for transfering money more efficeintly. As well as this, some of the prices they offered (3 measly pounds for a DVD box set of a rare and great series: Band of Brothers & Secret Army!!) Everything else worked ok. I would have liked to have been informed how long payment receipt would have taken before I even attempted to sell my goods. I regret using the service now. Not value for money.

Zapper is a reliable and straightforward service to use but as some items are only worth pence on the site you really do need to have quite a large collection of books/cds/dvds etc to sell meet the £10 minimum requirement.

Fast receipt and sorting of goods sent but slow at sending payment in return. Has now been 2 weeks since I was told my cheque was authorised but I haven't received it. now I'Ve written this I bet it's waiting for me at home!
