Jay Landa - Elite Removals

Do not use JAY LANDA or ELITE REMOVALS who uses to be called PANTHER REMOVALS !!! We were one of many victims of their criminal scam.

They do not operate from the website address – 601 International House, 223 Regent Street, London, W1B 2QD. I went there only to find out that you have not been operating from this address for over a year if not longer.

They send a female representative to your house who will take a falsified inventory and provide you with a very competitive quote. The quote we were given included the removal of all items in our house and all packing materials 3, 4 removal men and a van that should have been big enough to pack all items into and deliver them in one drop. A total of 40 boxes were delivered as per the original quote and due to the small size of the boxes my wife had to make two additional request for another 60 boxes that Elite Removals charged an extra £120 for.

On the day of the removal 3 men arrived in a van that was clearly too small and also seemed dangerous and had mechanical failure as it needed to roll down the road in order to jump start. We mentioned this and were told that the van would do the job and they should be able to load all our belongings into the van which of course was not case.

When the van was fully loaded it was plain to see that the van was not big enough and they had only managed to load half of our belongings and a second trip would clearly be required. One of the ELITE REMOVAL uninsured removal men then decided to drive to our new address and unload. They asked us to drive in front of them and to show them the way which we did.

We then returned to the house we were moving from and at this point we were informed by one of the Elite Removal men that they would have to charge us an additional £350 to complete the job. When I spoke to the Jay the owner and known criminal on the phone he was very threatening and saying that we would also be charged an extra £120 per hour for waiting time if we did not as he put it ‘cooperate’ with his extortionate demands. As an additional threat Jay added that if we did not pay the extra £350 in cash then he would place all our belongings into storage which would be an additional charge !

As we had no choice we reluctantly paid the ELITE REMOVALS removal man an additional £350 in cash and the second part of the removal and delivery was finally done by around 9pm at night. The following day we had to make an additional 5 trips from the house we were moving from to the house we were moving to in order to complete the move as there were still many items left back at the house. We later found out that a number of our household items were also broken.

In dealing with ELITE REMOVALS I found them to be totally unprofessional, unreasonable and threatening.

Great Removals Guys - But Charge 50% More On The Day!!

This review is for Elite Removals, Bromley. I wouldn't recommend this company, unless you can get an inventory check before move day. The removers themselves were absolutely fantastic.

We received a quote based on a list of furniture items and estimated number of boxes for £420.00, which included 30 removal boxes. They delivered 20 boxes, but loads of bubble wrap. We organised an inventory, so they could come round and check what was on our list vs. what was in the flat, to get a more accurate quote. They cancelled this 1 hour before (when I had just managed to leave work early to get home in time).

On the day, some items were not needed to be moved (we'd freecycled them), but had more boxes. The removal company were 1.5 hours LATE.

Close to the end, they said the van was almost full but they'd try to fit in as much as possible. WHAT THEY DIDN'T SAY IS THAT FROM THAT MOMENT ON THEY WERE CHARGING US BY THE BOX. Once they had left the property, they called to say it would be an extra £220 - more than 50% the original quote. It was certainly not 50% more boxes, and no furniture that wasn't on the list (less in fact!).

Having all our stuff, we felt at ransom and had to pay. It really soured the day, and meant we couldn't afford to give the drivers the tip we had planned.
