Unreliable, Incompetent And Unpleasant

This is by far the worst estate agents I have come across in my life. They are completely incompetent, negligent and they do not have a single ounce of customer care within the whole agency. It was single-handedly the worst experience I have ever had in my life. They are not at all reliable. They cancelled mere hours before completion/keys were meant to be collected for no apparent reason. They gave no notice, showed no remorse and were extremely rude. I would urge any individuals/developers/property owners to rethink and refrain from using this company. There are agents miles better with much better customer service and reliability in my opinion. They do not respond to emails, if they do expect to have wait days, they do not answer their phone. I lodged my complaint with a senior member who said she would get back to me COB the next day and I heard nothing which pretty much sums up this agency. Their customer reviews says it all - plenty of people have had the same experiences. Tragic excuse for a real estate agents. If you’ve had any issues in the past or recently, make it a point to report them to the property ombudsman. Otherwise, they will continue to treat people badly and get away with it.

Worst Letting Agent

Since AUGUST last year we have sent Julie Twist several emails about some damp that is in the bathroom and the toilet of the flat we are renting from them. This has been reported to maintenance and the property manager with absolutely zero response from any of them.

Since late December 2016, we have been in their Deansgate office 4 times:

- First time: shop was supposed to close at 16:30, we went there at 15:45 and the person there was already shutting the door. Since all their PCs and lights were off already, he said he couldn't help us and to pop in the next working day.

- Second time: the office was open this time and there were 3 people in. However, all their systems were down and they couldn't check anything regarding this issue. None of them remembered any of it either. Felt like none of them had even read any of the emails we had sent... One of them took a note and booked someone to come in on that week to have a look. No one has been here.

- Third time: we explained the issue once again, but the person dealing with it had to go home early that day and the person in the office had absolutely no way of checking how the issue was going. He advised he'd pass a note to maintenance and we would have an update the following day either by email or phone. This was last Monday, 16th of January. Surprise: nobody got in touch with us regarding this. Not the following day, as promised, not the day after. So we went in the office again last Thursday, 19th January...

- Fourth time: this was last Thursday. The person dealing with the issue was in the office this time. The person at the front phoned her so she could come out to speak to us for an update on the issue. For some reason, she couldn't come out to speak to us, so we were promised an update the day after. Another surprise: no update received.

So, as a summary: since August last year, no one has come to look at the problem, no one has given us an update and no one has ever replied to any of the emails we have sent. And it goes further back: in the 2 inspections before 31st August, this was already reported. One of the girls who came to do one of those previous inspections even took photos of the issue. Not sure of what exactly they use their inspections for.

We'll pop in the office once again on Tuesday to see what's the excuse this time. This is causing us trouble with our health, apart from a ridiculous amount of time and effort.

It's not the first time we have similar issue with them. The previous year, we had to threaten to stop paying our rent for them to fix the alarm. They fixed after this threat, many emails and, again, many visits to the office. It took a year to fix the alarm...

Unreasonable Deposit Deductions

Just finished my tenancy via this agent. Generally acceptable service throughout, nothing above average though. The lady from maintenance was the most helpful. Rating 1 star because my opinion of them dropped massively after being charged (amongst other things) £90 from my deposit for replacing the bath sealant, and being told they are using an £18 tube of silicone as they don't use substandard products. Which surprises me as I'm sure the sealant was done just before I moved in and was already going mouldy after a couple of months! It would have been nice if the multiple flat inspections highlighted any issues and gave me a chance to fix myself before leaving. I'd also lived with a damp smell in the entrance and toilet for the last 6 months due to a leak, but had to live with it as it was down to the landlord to resolve.

Worst Letting Agent In Manchester

Rude, incompetent and unprofessional agents. I have just started dealing with them as a tenant and getting worst I can imagine. Staff are rude, never answer your phone (evidently intentional) and when they talk to you, they are rude too.

Worst Agent I Have Ever Used

The worst agent I have ever had to deal with.

Slow, rude, incompetent.

The hob broke- I was told to wait and that it'd be healthier for me to use the cooker anyway.

The roof grew mould and dripped water- their solution was to paint the mould white and drip white water over my stuff.

I wanted to renew my contract 2 months before it expired- I got an answer 3 weeks before the contract expired and was told it wouldn't be possible for me to renew it.

I moved out and they attempted to charge me £80 for a blind I had broken- 4 weeks later they admitted they were wrong and simply hadn't bothered to establish if it was broken when I moved in.

Glad to be rid of them.

Give Estate Agents A Bad Name!!!

took me 4 days and 4 phone calls to arrange a viewing, not one call ws ever returned

finally booked a viewing after getting rather insistent on the phone

turned up for viewing, zero degrees, waited an hour to see this property, no show from Julie Twist. Called the office to the told that the property wasnt ready for viewings, it was cancelled. They neglected to inform me, plus I somehow doubt that was true because a different member of staff told me 4 days previously that he had 3 viewings the next day and he would call me back if it was still available after those.

professional? no way!

courteous? no way!

efficient? no way!

landlords/owners and prospective tenants SHOULD AVOID!! YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED

Avoid At All Costs

Julie Twist properties, in my opinion, are the worst kind of company. They charge a fortune and provide no customer service to their tenants and through this do not properly maintain the property, letting the landlord down. As a tenant it is clear that your custom is not important. The flat i rented was filthy when i moved in despite being "professionally cleaned". I have been told by other tenants that JT charge you a fortune for this cleaning service when you leave regardless of whether the property is clean or not. It is impossible to get through to anyone regarding maintenance. No one calls you back unless they are asking you for money (extension fees etc.). The staff are poorly trained and exceptionally rude and in one instance, very patronising. However disappointed I have been with their service, I know that the landlord will be horrified when he sees the state of disrepair the property has been left in under the management of JT.

Please Don't Go With This Estate Agents

Absolutely terrible service. Very expensive fees for the lack of communication provided.

They started off badly by delaying our tenancy agreement when we initially wanted to moved in making us run over on our old lease. They were very hard to contact, left us in the dark the majority of the time.

Since being a tenant with them they haven't once took anything we've said seriously, they never call back, calling them nearly always results in going to answer machine (if you want to get hold of them ask to be on hold rather than go to answer machine they rarely call back). We are now trying to negotiate ending our tenancy with the landlady however they haven't even contacted her yet three weeks after we asked them too, so whether she agrees to cancelling it or not she hasn't yet been given the option. We put very little faith in them managing to replace us as tenants. They are also withholding the landladies details so we can't just ask her for them, despite that actually being against property law.

Terrible

We had a terrible experience with this company. The fees were very expensive with shocking service in return . We moved into a property that julie twist had advertised a few months ago and have had so many problems with them. They did not disclose important information about the flat that would have affected our decision to move in until after we had already signed the contract and paid the non refundable fees. Our shower is broken and the landlord has told us it is irreparable....our landlord said that we should have been told this by Julie Twist before moving in. They then refused to take responsibility for not disclosing this information, blaming it on the landlord. This left us very confused and not sure who was in the wrong.

The place was dirty, dusty and moldy (this includes the walls, furniture and even the mattress) although they demand we clean it top to bottom before we move out, and then pay them a \"check in/check out fee\" for the pleasure of doing so. The check in check out fee is an extra £120 on top of the agency fees and we are still not sure what that money is for. Communication was difficult during the entire time we dealt with them and we waited days to have our phone calls returned. Once the non refundable fees were paid it seemed they lost interest.

We are relieved they are not managing our property because from the sounds of some other reviews that could be nightmare. I am not sure how they maintain a functioning business with the lack of service we have seen from them. We have written a formal complaint which was handled appallingly and they flat out refused to give us a refund or take the complaint any further. We are very dissatisfied. These are our personal experiences and we cannot comment on anything but that. I would recommend going to any other estate agent before using Julie Twist.
