Complete Rubbish

i purchased car insurance from the policy shop , they put my insurance with a partner company midas , who after 4 weeks went into receivership, , my insurance was cancelled and no refund , was told i might get ten pence in the pound in the distant future, phoned 4 times across 18 months , there system to deal with situation is to put on hold and leave till you give up, or cut off call after a while, these are complete and utter rubbish company and i would advise you don't touch with a barge pole

customer services admin are so unhelpful and rude I recommend admiral for any car insurance etc lovely people

Rip Off Charges Hidden

good competitive quotes and policies until you try to make a policy change .When i came to change vehicle due to engine failure them wanted £45.00 to make any change to the policy .Deciding this wasnt good value I took insurance elsewhere . When I rang back to cancel the old policy which had 4 months to run they insisted on charging £75.00 to cancel the policy so i did not receive any refund ,When I queried this charge they said it was in their terms of business which had been sent to me . I have spoken to 3 of their customers none of them have received this rip off terms of business letter . .you have 2 choices good value insurance for a 12 month period .

Bunch Of Unprofessional An Incompetent

I write this review 10/10/2016 just after cancelling my insurance with this company. I got insurance from them and as we all know the owner has to send the log book to DVLA they requested the new keepers slip which i sent then and 3 days later i recieved a letter telling me they will cancel my insurance if they do not get a copy of the log book. I was shocked as they clearly know its in the hand of DVLA and it takes up to two weeks to get the log book updated, I read review on this site and was not pleased at all so i decided to cancel the policy as i can not deal with such a incompetent company. And guess what Churchill gave me a cheaper quote including roadside cover and legal assistance than the money i was still to pay with these guys if i had stayed with them. Fair enough they didn't give me my deposit back but overall my decision to go to Churchill saved me £50.

Stay away at all cost

Avoid This Company

Terrible. Told me I had put 20 years No claims but theres no way I would have. Sent me an additional bill a week after insuring with them. Avoid this company.

Couldn't Be Bothered To Contact Me As Promised

I had a quote to buy on line but it said "call us" so I thought i would. After a 10 minute call confirming all details they say "Oh, you've previously had subsidence, our underwriters will need to be contacted and they're closed now" (my previous subsidence, which was 20 years ago, was fully mentioned on the quote search) so I agreed to be called back between 9 and 11 the following day.

It is now the following day and they simply couldn't be bothered to call me. If this is how they treat potential customers, who knows how badly they treat ones that have already paid. I'll go elsewhere.

Do Not Use The Policy Shop Useless.

The policy shop car insurance.....I've never dealt with such incompetent people, after sending all the documents requested registered post, I get a email a week later saying they needed more within two hours or the policy would be cancelled...so it took them a week to contact me and then threaten to cancel it...again I send documents straight to them within that hour...thinking I'm not going to be covered....only to get a call the next day saying policy cancelled...I phone back again waiting on hold...only to be met with hostile customer service saying yeah it's cancelled....I explain what's happened and can they please check that I did actually send what they asked for......oh yes you did send it....I know I did!

So what will happen....well a manager has to speak with you,oh no manager here, will get him to call you first thing....no call again I call again manager is on the phone maybe he'll call you today.

As far as I know I'm not covered.....still waiting

Please don't use this company they are rude on the phone and speak to you like your a child.

I'm totally disgusted with The Policy Shop. I wouldn't even give them a 1 star.

Total Rip Off

I found this through a comparison site. Looked a good price, could buy on line so clicked through. Filled in loads more details, except at end unable to pay online, site advised to phone, needless to say premium number. I was advised that a few details needed to be checked. 17 yes seventeen minutes later we still weren't there! And it had gone up. I refused to go ahead with the purchase, if customer service is this bad before purchase I dread to think what it would like to make a claim.

Don't Waste Your Time!!

I would recommend pay extra and go elsewhere.

- The policy shop have no one to answer your calls so don't expect to speak with anyone if you need help, not without spending a fortune on minutes!

- When you do finally get to speak to someone they will be rude, patronising and invasive. I had one guy question my employment because he thought I was lying about how many times I was going to use my car and he knew my job better than I did!! How rude!

- When you finally get through to someone to set up a policy the quote will change and they will add an extra £100 on.(It will also take at least a week to get insured as you have to do it over the phone and send lots of proof of this that and the other

- there will be lots of complex questions that will be asked to you at the speed of light in legal jargon just to make sure you don't understand a word and so you feel incredibly stupid when you have to ask 'please can you slow down and explain what you just said' for every single question.

- you will get threatening letters, texts and emails that they will cancel your policy if you do not send your documents only 1 week after setting up the policy when you have a total of 21 days.

- and once you have had enough and say look I give up you guys are rubbish, you still have to pay them for the poor services and wait 30 days for them to give you your small petty refund from your huge deposit you have paid!
