Do Not Accept Quotes From This Company Or Pay A Deposit

On 9th feb 2024 approx 9pm I was viewing Pink car insurance quotes. I decided to accept a quote paid deposit & completed direct debit & questions. Due to personal reasons on sat morning I had to inform them that I had to cancel

Bearing in mind my car ins renewal date was 8th March 24 virtually a month away. I then received an email saying they would cancel Direct debit but they were retaining £20 of my deposit I understood there was a 14 day cooling off period but obviously this company have their own rules to fleece the customer.

I WOULD ADVISE ANYONE NOT TO ACCEPT QUOTES FROM THIS COMPANY OR PAY A DEPOST

I THINK ITS APPALLING!!!

Warning

Warning...My insurance renewed in november 2016 or so i thought. Received a certificate of insurance and presumed everything was ok. In march of this year i was pulled over by a police car and told i had no insurance. The car was seized leaving both myself and my 80 year old mum who's just out of hospital stranded. I find out from insure pink the payment never went through although there were sufficient funds and they said they had wrote 1 letter to me to say so. This did not arrive so for 3 months i'd been driving without insurance. Ive had to pay £190 to retreive my car and i'm facing a prosecution for driving without insurance. Insure pink had my email address and my mobile phone no but chose to send a letter which didnt arrive and they think that is sufficient. Appalling.

Avoid At All Costs!

I decided to use this company at renewal of my car insurance as they came in at the same price as my usual insurer but decided that this would be better due to the donation to charity. After i paid my deposit i was bombarded with calls, text and emails demanding for copies of both mine and the additional drivers license. Turns out that they had failed to do the checks before they took my deposit and wanted me to pay an extra £75 on top of a £25 admin fee for a new quote! It was something that they advised was "Red Flagged" as a discrepancy but failed to tell me this before they took my cash (a £30+ deposit). I advised them i was refusing to pay the £100 extra due to their incompetence and changed to another insurance company but they still charged me a cancellation fee of £25.00!!

Also 3 days later after asking for my policy to be cancelled and a refund i am still having to ring round, get passed to different departments, on hold for up to 10 mins and snotty staff (not all of them but the ones that don't like customers sticking up for themselves) and still waiting for confirmation that it has been cancelled. Very very disappointed! Do yourselves a favour, give a fiver to a charity yourself and go with someone else!

We are unable to crosscheck all your details at the point of sale and ask that you check what has been entered before paying. If it transpires that there is inaccurate information, we are required by your insurer to request the documents you were asked for and then correct the policy for you. In this way the correct premium and policy has been saved and there would be no reason your claim would be negatively impacted. Good Basic Cover

Insurepink are underwritten by hastings and provide similar cover but sometimes offer cheaper quotes and give money to a cancer charity; they were originally just for women but now with the new parliament law in effect both men and women can get quotes from them, they also offer the chance to pay in installments. Never had any issues. They never add extras unless you ask for them (if you do they offer courtesy cars, breakdown cover, legal expenses and no claims protection) and when you do their pricing is clear. Hastings is a broker and use various insurance companies as does insurepink as it is the same company; provided you get a decent insurance company there is usually no issues but be aware that they will choose the cheapest broker so always read the small print and see who is offering you the cover. Also the more information you give the better they can pick an insurance company for you and unlike some insurance companies who keep increasing premiums every year to existing customers Insure pink actually tries to get you a lower one every year. I have changed car in the course of my insurance and they have done it no problems.

Why have they quoted me £134.33 to add a named driver when it says on compare the market that the average cost is £30 which is the price they paid when added to another persons insurance in the past?
