Accident Which Wasn't My Fault
I had a car accident a couple of years ago which wasn't my fault. The driver who hit the back of my car accepted fault straight away and the police were present too along with witnesses and dash cam footage. When I rang groupama to explain what had happened they tried to make the accident look like I had caused it. I was asked to look at the damage and compare the front and back of the car ?to see which looked worse? Never again will I go with this insurance company. Stressful as hell!

House And Contents Insurance With Grouparma No
I had Building and Contents Insurance with Grouparma for two years .I thought they were supposed to be an efficient caring company, till I had to make a genuine claim during the bad weather of January 2013 and was thrown out.I had water damage to my property via the heavy snow on the roof.As my roof was not new and appeared to have felt damage due to age and was put down to wear and tear, that's how the water got through allegedly.It was a genuine claim .As I do not make a frequent visit to the roof to inspect it each year apart from cleaning the gutters out as routine,but this company did all they could to block my every comment or request in the end I was accused of being very negative towards there company.I think I had every right to be.Most folks need insurance ,perhaps we should start to do without them .The insurance ombudsman should really start to look at these companies as miss sells .
So my advise go for renown old firms such as the CO-OP insurance group to get trust in a company.

My car was hit by a drunk driver whilst stationary in July last year. I called Groupama straight away, and the car was sent to my local garage for repairs, so far so good.
The garage faxed them detailed photos and an estimate of the damage, however they delayed authorisation of the claim for an entire fortnight as they "didn't have enough staff in that department". Once someone finally did look at the photos, they saw the severely damaged headlight and refused to authorised its replacement as the damage was only cosmetic. Needless to say words were had, and eventually they paid up in full.
Then came handling the claim. Now bear in mind that the other party was approaching four times the legal limit, was locked in a police cell and had been charged with drink driving and dangerous driving. The evidential breath test gave a three figure reading and he has now been given a prison sentence for the accident. There were independent witnesses, CCTV, two police statements and a police report. It was pretty cut and dry, to put it mildly.
So you'd think they'd settle it quite quickly, eh? No such luck. First they informed the other party that the damage was to the wrong side of their vehicle, which led them to dispute the claim. Easily mistake, easily corrected? Alas, no. Groupama only called or wrote to the other party's insurers when I asked them to, they did no chasing of their own accord. Their staff were rude on the phone, told me constantly conflicting information, and later it turned out they had simply been lying. I complained and the manager told me it was because they had a lot of inexperienced staff. All in all it took until December to resolve.
Do not insure your car with these cowboys.

They are cancelling my home insurance with them as I did not tell them that I paid for repairs that were not covered under my home insurance. According to their legal definition, it is a loss if the policy does not cover and the policyholder pays, so I am informed by Click Insurance. I only called to ask if it was covered, but that's a loss according to these highway bandits... Please please please DO NOT get cover with Groupama. They will take your money, make your life a living hell, not have a care about you and drop you if they want to. Had full insurance for 17 years, made two or three small claims and now I'm practally not insurable as they decided to cancel my policy. They are an absolute joke and I do hope that the Financial Ombudsman sees fit to find in our favour through the claim we are making against them.. AVOID...
I tend to agree with you .Groupama seems to design insurance polices never to pay out on genuine cases ,They have clauses for all occasions. I had home contents and insurance with them for two years .I had a building roof issue during January 2013 due to the severe weather .I ended up with water in the house .But they refused to help .Yes the good old wear and tear clause came into the equations and they would not help me naturally if it was a new roof then the builder would have been at fault ! It seems you have to take them to court via the Ombudsman if you want to win your case. So yes do not whatever contract with them .I was a genuine customer with a genuine claim,but because I had very little money to fight them .I ended up having to walk away very bitter.

Wish I'd Never Heard Of Them
I got a quote for car insurance. I had to complete endless paper work, get evidence, take photos, (of my odometer) and all the while I had no disc/insurance. My protected no claims was disputed; I ended up paying 2 additional bills. Altogether £10 MORE than if I had just stayed with my previous insurer. I'm annoyed because the insurance is inferior and it was a truckload of aggravation.

Terrible, Terrible, Terrible Insurance Company.
I have been waiting several months for this bunch of thieves to pay me on a claim. I lost (through a burglary) by their own estimation, over 20,000 GBP of valuables.
They said they would send me directly some goods to replace - that took several months and I am still waiting for some items. Then they said they would pay me 7,500 GBP for the over 18,000 GBP jewelry I lost - some of this was irreplaceable family treasures. I reluctantly agreed and then waited several weeks so I thought I should contact them. When I did they said the cheque was in the post – I am still waiting.
I called them again recently and they have downgraded the amount I am owed to reflect goods sent to me! So now I am waiting for a 5,000 GBP cheque that has still not arrived. I threatened them with court action and as if by magic they said they would pay me by electronic transfer.
This is the most unprofessional bunch of thieves I have ever dealt with.
PLEASE NEVER USE THESE FRAUDS!
You have my full understanding I have had my fingers burnt by them with a genuine Building and contents claim from weather damage to my roof during the January storms of 2013 ,yes water got into my house .Grouparma have a let out clause for all occasions in my case it was down to wear and tear ! It is about time the Insurance Ombudsman started to look at these firms on a miss sell basis.Genuine claimants have no chance of seeing justice with this Insurance Company when they have a claim. We are all treated as fraud claimants even with genuine claims.I was accused of being very negative towards this company when I had a good go at them .so there you have it. Don't insure with them unless you live in a brand new house ,go round in a padded suit and in any case it would be the builders fault if the Building failed in anyway electrics included !
Dishonorable, Worthless, Ripoff
I should have given the money to charity, perhaps one that pays for bike thiefs in their later careers. The GROUPAMA are a complete waste of money and time. I purchased insurance though the AA ( a reputable company one would think ) only to find that having to deal with the underwriters Groupama refuse to honor the contract when my bike was stolen.
AA should drop this ripoff company.

Had A Non Fault Accident In September My Car Was D
Had a non fault accident in september my car was deemed beyond ecconomic repair the following day by their own recomended garage three months later still waiting for settlement on my car from Groupma . Every time i call its another excuse about staff sickness ,computers down or high work load i would not recommend Groupama
