Thanks for the feedback and please accept our apologies for the inconvenience caused.

Unfortunately, we are unable to inform our clients if an unlock code is available in the system prior to processing the request. Normally, it takes between 1-3 working days to receive an answer, however, it can take up to three weeks depending on the make/model of phone.

“Phone already unlocked?! ”

Having purchased my phone on a pay monthly contract with Three I assumed it was network locked. Purchased an unlock code and at the same time ordered some PAYG Sims from O2, Giffgaff, EE and Vodafone. Every one of the PAYG Sims was recognised on the network by my handset. Not prompted to use the unlock code. If the phone was already unlocked wouldn't it be listed as such on a database before I was sold the unlock code?… Read Full Review

Unfortunately not. The entire unlock process is fully automated and we have no way of knowing in advance if a phone is already unlocked. The moment you submit your request, this incurs a cost to doctorSIM which cannot be recovered.

It is for this reason that we state the following in our terms and conditions:

It is the responsibility of the customer to check whether their phone is already unlocked prior to requesting an unlock code. We do not issue refunds for phones that are already unlocked.

This can be done by inserting two SIM cards from different networks and seeing if you can make calls with both. For iPhones users, we also have a locked/unlocked phone check service which will eliminate all doubt.

That's because he tries unlocking them through ATT for you. He gives a cheap price then it cost him nothing to take a shot and submit a ATT form to ATT to see if they'll unlock it without him spending any credits on his unlock membership. ATT will unlock the phone for free if you don't owe money and it's been so long. If you notice the quote for a iPhone 6Plus says 1 of 4 don't work because they're newer, the quote for a 4S doesn't say that, it just says sometimes I don't work in case he has to save himself and charge $80 for a 5-10 credit.

“Not a complete success”

The promised and quite expensive permanent unlock of the telephone worked only partially. Every thime the phone is swiched off and on again, the unlocking procedures have to be repeated. And the unlocking instructions are not clear, you have to change the order of the proceedings in order to succeed, at least partially. Really too much money paid for too little… Read Full Review

I choose this site because of the good rating but was left disappointed... I was excited to see, time to unlock 1:05:34, one hour, five minutes to unlock and "In most cases, the delivery time to process the unlocking code of this model is 1 to 24 working hours, even though it could occasionally take a little longer." When I contracted this service there was an option to make a YouTube video to upload online to receive the unlocking for free if you had a Sony device. I ticked the box, I paid the fee and I waited for the email with my code and the directions of how to make the video, which I was told would be sent to me. I only received an email with the unlocking code. Phone is unlocked but not impressed with the false advertising. Will not be using this service or recommending it… Read Full Review

“Good and bad”

Let's get the 'good' bit out the way first; DoctorSim provided me with a code that unlocked my phone. Now the bad; Having paid for a service and sent off the required details, I get a reply saying, 'we are sorry, we can' t unlock your phone'. However, they then go on to tell you that there is a 'premium' service they provide that could unlock your phone. This premium service nearly doubles the cost. We are sorry about this. We tried to unlock your phone with the basic and less prized service because the 85% of the requests are enabled to be unlocked. Sometimes we receive a no-code answer and the premium service is the only way to do it. We always offer the refund and try to explain that we use the basic and cheaper option first.

When I saw a low price to unlock my phone, I thought great. Unfortunately it couldn't be unlocked unless I paid a premium price. Yes the code supplied did unlock my phone, but this was £7 dearer than had I gone to EE. I wonder how many more are being treated like this!… Read Full Review

Hello,

Unfortunately this is a problem with Samsung phones that is affecting all customers since late January.

We always probe providers with lowest prices and best delivery times, but sometimes, this means worse success rates. When no code is found, we offer the premium service, which is more expensive.

Ideally we'd hope we could service every customer on the less expensive services, but it is simply not possible.

We are working, however, on making it more clear from the beggining.
