“Utter shambles”

★☆☆☆☆

written by mitchellbrickwork on 31/03/2020

Complete and utter shambles! Vodafone have left me with no network coverage for 6 days now. What should have been a simple upgrade has now turned into my business losing money because of their incompetence! I have spoken with 6 different Vodafone representatives now ( on the web chat as no network for phone calls ) and each one "assured" me that I would have no further issues and it would be sorted within 20 hours!! 6 days later...….still waiting! A new SIM is supposedly on its way but I hold out little hope they have even sent it! Stay well clear!

“I bought a 12 month contract for a Vodafone wifi...”

★☆☆☆☆

written by Batemanxc354 on 26/06/2019

I bought a 12 month contract for a Vodafone wifi dongle at £9 a month. THERE IS NO CAP AT ALL IN PLACE to begin with. If you exceed the monthly limit, data charged at £2.50 per 250Mb, so £10 per Gb! After being hit with a £100 bill, their Filipino call centre was not prepared to reduce or eliminate the charge, so I put a cap in place and thought I had learnt a lesson. The next month, the same thing, an overcharge of around £100! I cancelled the contract which should have cost about £120 or so for the year. They then ruined my credit rating pursuing me for £200 odd quid which I had to pay. Have complained to the Ombudsman, as they cannot or will not send statement of all charges and payments on the account. Only other option to sue through the County Court, which of course costs a lot of time and money that I don't have. Now with EE, who automatically put a cap in place. VODAFONE ARE RUTHLESS!

“I’m am not sure why Vodafone is legally allowed to...”

★☆☆☆☆

written by enocholumide on 08/03/2019

I’m am not sure why Vodafone is legally allowed to run as a service provider, because they have terrible customer service. Earlier in Karlsruhe, I went to PostGallarie to get a DSL connection. The guy at the counter told me to my face i will only pay 35EUR every month. Few days later, the Vodafone technician came and installed the router in my apartment. Few days later, I got a surprised debit of over 150EUR from my bank account! WTH! I asked Vodafone customer care via their sms customer service line, the guy told me that they charged me about 60EUR installation fee, another 45 EUR for the router, and the rest for international calls that my wife made! I was surprised and at the same time alarmed! I let that one slide, the next month, I got another surprise debit of 232EUR from my account. Who on this planet spends about 400EUR internet within two months?!! I asked the customer service via sms, they guy totally refused to answer me and asked me to stop typing in English and find someone else to write him in German! Then I went to their boot in Kaiserslautern, Lo and behold, Vodafone was taking money from my account on behalf of third party, worth over 150EUR and they are charging me for the SMS they are sending to my phone!! WTH?! The guy at the counter in Karlsruhe, told me I would pay only 35EUR per month!! I had to totally take out the Vodafone SIM cards, break it into pieces and stop using their services! Now I’m stucked with their evil contract and currently looking for a way out!!! Vodafone is such a terrible provider and they should be strippped off their liscense to operate!!! Will never recommend!

“never again in my lifetime”

written by gb482 on 14/07/2018

I got a contract for 1st time with them in 2017,and soon as I got phone it was always loosing connection, but according to them, nothing wrong with the phone, problems kept occurring, but because of a little crack on left hand side, warranty was no good, problems kept persisting, they even started lying to me, I made a complaint, but nothing was done, in the end my phone lost visual, wouldn't respond to touch, but would keep ringing, was told by them at shop it wasn't worth fixing, but when rung customer services, they told me to take phone to shop I just laughed, because none of them communicate with each other, I recently rung them and asked for customer services, I was put through to a completely different department, then I was told I would be put through to customer services, half an hour later, I ended the call, I have never known such rude people, at the moment I'm seeing citizen"z advice bureau, but I wish I had never gone into the Vodafone shop that day, I would urge anyone one to keep away, you will regret it if you don't, they are very unhelpful, and disgusting people, when this contract is over, I will never use Vodafone again, and ill make sure many I know don't, we all make mistakes, and Vodafone is my biggest one up to date

“Appalling ”

★☆☆☆☆

written by on 05/01/2018

I have been a customer with Vodafone for 10 years. They are the most unbending, uncompromising company I have ever dealt with. Following an hour long conversation with 3 separate members of the customer relations team, I was asked if I was happy with the resolution; there had been 2 aspects to my complaint - the date of the contract end (which was 4 months beyond the 24 I had agreed) and that they had not applied my work-related discount. I was happy with the first part as they brought the end date forward, but not happy with the 2nd as they would not apply the discount. I was told that, unless I agreed I was happy with the outcome, they would not be able to bring forward the end date so they had me over a barrel and I had to agree I was happy with the outcome even though I wasn't!

“WARNING, NEVER TRUST VODAFONE!!!”

★☆☆☆☆

written by on 28/01/2017

I'm absolutely appalled at how Vodafone have treated me and other customers who have had the same experience. It's been a violation of rights. I took out mobile broadband with Vodafone almost two years ago when starting university. The dongle worked well for one year then started play up. I figured it was old and just needed a replacement. I called Vodafone, explained the situation, gave them my details and they said they would send an updated replacement go free. They sent the dongle to wrong address so I had to call up and get it cancelled within the 14 day cooling off period. They did not close my account like I asked them to. Instead they re opened it, sent the dongle out (again) to the wrong address and started to charge me for product I was no using. I rang the help lines three times explaining my situation and asking them to cancel the account. Each time I called I was passed from one person to another. Some pretended they couldn't find my details and others told me it was cancelled. Every time I found out that was a lie as there were bills from Vodafone appearing on my credit report. This has left my credit score low and through no fault of my own. They even added new accounts onto my credit file that I hadn't opened. I had a letter from a debt collection agency asking for money on Vodafones behalf. Eventually I had to go in store to get staff to help me close down the account. Luckily they did close it down and Vodafone ended up paying the bill they had charged me for. However it has still left a negative imapct on my credit score that I am now having to dispute and request to be taken off. There have been news paper articles about other people who have been through the same and I discovered that one man had a two year court battle with Vodafone over similar problems. I cannot fault the staff at Vodafone shops as they did a very good job at handling case. I would however not recommend anyone whatsoever take out any sort of contract with Vodafone. Once they have your details they can try and defraud you/try to get money out of you for nothing. Do not trust them as far as you can throw them. Go elsewhere. Please...

“Miss - Sold Loyal Customer”

★☆☆☆☆

written by Coleen77 on 27/09/2016

I have 3 phones on 1 contract with Vodafone and have been a loyal customer for around 10 years. I phoned to upgrade my phone this morning, make some adjustments to the other contracts and just get some advice on how to save some money going forward. The man offered me a sim only deal for 1 and reduction on the 2nd and then for mine, I was told they could give me an iPhone 6 (16GB)unlimited texts, calls and 5GB of data for £37 per month but it should have been £54 but because I was a loyal customer they would give me a 40% discount reducing the cost! After discussing with some friends, I find out that Vodafone are actually offering an iPhone 6s, unlimited calls and texts with 12GB of data for £34 per month....As you can see I have been offered a lower phone model with less data for more money - how does that work? I am absolutely disgusted with this and as I work for a very large company who pride themselves on an exceptional customer journey, I know this isn't right and morally just! When live chatting with an advisor, I was passed from 1 to another and placed on hold, only to be told that I could cancel if I wanted to and should call back tomorrow to check the contract! In the world of today and given the amount of options we have for mobile phones, I would have thought that being loyal meant something......Clearly not!

“Sim Only Contract”

★☆☆☆☆

written by Duckworthmk326 on 28/07/2016

Picked up a sim only contract. Nothing on the website or when I picked it up from the store to explain it can take up to 48 hours. Strange a sim works as soon as you take it out but this takes so long. No help from online chat except one who tried her best. Waste of space.

“Vodafone UK: Worst Customer Service Ever”

★☆☆☆☆

written by O'Brienxd39 on 22/07/2016

I would rather cut off my finger than have to deal with Vodafone's customer service again. 8 weeks of hell to try to get back money they incorrectly charged me through a system error. I spent 20+ hours on the phone, more on web chat, sent mails, tweets, facebook posts. I gave up trying to claim back all the expense that I lost from Vodafone. I didn't even receive the phone I ordered, after 4 different store visits to collect and countless reordering to my home address! Each time the person on the phone promises to sort it out and call you back but they NEVER do anything. Incredibly frustrating, it also appears they keep no record whatsoever of previous support correspondence so you have to repeat the whole story a million times. They have the lowest customer service levels of any company I have ever dealt with in my entire life. Never again. Shocking that a company with such poor customer service is allowed to operate in the UK.

“Worst company in Britain”

★☆☆☆☆

written by dani_cali on 14/03/2016

This company has nearly brought me to my knees. More than once. I am stuck with them, purely because where I live is rural and other networks are even worse reception. Let me list the faults- none of which ever get resolved 1 - automated top up is long winded and riddled with problems, takes you through loops where you get nowhere, then you cant get help 2 - 191 customer service is Egypt based, and they not only cannot speak proper english, but they don't give a ____, and they lie to you - tell you they have done something, or they will fix the issue, and they don't. They still charge you for the call, though. Queues can be up to one hour to get through. 3 - staff in vodafone shops. Useless. I dont know why they are even employed as they are unable to do anything. managers won't do anything for you, either. appalling attitude by store managers with useless staff who can only phone 191 for you. 4 - so called rewardz points you try to redeem. you redeem your points online, it takes your points away, then you never get your reward. Calls to customer services go nowhere, and shop manager wont do anything for you, either. 5- automated system purposely makes it difficult to buy a bundle - so you pay premium rates for phone calls 6. when i first switched from ASDA to Vodafone, it took them FOUR MONTHS to switch my phone number to their network. It should only take up to 3 days. Never got any compensation for this. If you can avoid, AVOID like the PLAGUE

“HORRENDOUS CUSTOMER SERVICE”

★☆☆☆☆

written by 446Shields on 08/03/2016

After being a loyal customer to this company for 15 years I decided to upgrade. Couldn't be simpler using the my Vodafone service. How wrong can you be? After two days the new upgrade had not appeared on the account, called them, one hour later, Oh no problem Sir, I will activate this for you right now. Another day passed, tried online help, useless. Drove to nearest Vodafone shop, 25 miles away, one hour wait in the queue, actually spoke to a nice helpful person, who did the upgrade there and then. I then went over to Spain for 10 days, did not use the eurotraveller or any data, kept receiving txts saying I owe them £26.40, funny that as all the years I have used this company I have never ever paid them myself, all comes straight out of my account by direct debit. I have spent another two and a half hours today speaking to several people on the phone, listening to hold music and then being cut off. I have received a txt from them, this is hilarious and exactly as written by the person I dealt with . "Hello, Regarding your call today the has dropped and I did try to call you back but I hadn't went through so onto the matter we were discussing the number for our service, thanks for your call today FORM XXX." What a complete load of double rubbish, the guy I spoke to was English, he cant even write a coherent sentence. They are truly not bothered about their customers, they do not care. Lets hope they go bust! They deserve to! I still now have to waste further time, but you know what I am going to cancel the contract and get another mobile company for my calls and data. Vodafone your are rubbish rubbish rubbish

“Please avoid. Dreadful customer service. Hidden charges”

★☆☆☆☆

written by Pikemf208 on 11/02/2016

Where do I start? Was charged over £1000 for mobile data, without a single notification that I was near my limit let alone over it. Tried to speak to customer services, they weren't interested. I asked them why I hadn't received notifications, they weren't interested. I said could they email me proof that I had had these notifications, they said they would. I rang 9 times, emailed 12 times, spoke to their head office two times, and I have not had a single email of explanation. If you get involved with Vodafone, please remember this alert, and ask yourself why you ignored it. I've dealt with BT, O2, Orange etc. They all had their faults but none compare to Vodafone. Avoid at all costs.

“OH SO IT'S NOT JUST ME THEN!!!!!!”

★☆☆☆☆

written by on 07/02/2016

Over the last few months my family and i have been treated so badly by vodafone i just thought i'd log in to see if anybody else has had the same trouble. Oh boy seems it is their policy to treat their customers with contempt. 2 members of my family were recently sent mobile phones that were faulty. I cannot begin to tell you how much of their time and mine has been taken up with phone calls, false promises and frankly just plain lies. And why can we never get to speak to a supervisor? We should have left years ago when they promised my son a competitive tariff but then went back on their word. He was too unwell at the time to deal with it so landed up paying more than he has agreed to pay over the telephone. Their customer service is non existent. They are contemptuous of their customers and all 5 members of my family including me will leave as soon as we are able. They do not deserve people's custom and are an absolute disgrace.

“Incompetent”

written by QuinnMallory on 26/01/2016

We moved to Ireland a few month ago and headed to Vodafone to get the broadband to our house. It took more than a month for Vodafone to figure out that we cannot get broadband service in the house we rend. More than a month ! Incredible, after this event the company dare to propose us their terrible satellite contract with worse prices and data allowance than Meteor for instance... unbelievable. Another thing we got our cells with Vodafone can't believe that the 0.15 cents per text rip off still exist in this country, everything in their contract is a rip off, internet data consumption, price for call per min, text, I would never ever recommend Vodafone. I miss my old french cell contract 2€ unlimited text, mms and 2 hours call, how could you justify your prices now Vodafone?

“Vodafone - A very badly managed company with dire service”

★☆☆☆☆

written by Kenziel227 on 21/01/2016

Never fails...I need to download my bills every few months to do expenses. As was the same last time, the View My Bills section of Vodafone's website has some error scripting and no previous bills are available. This website always has errors...why don't you hire someone senior from American Express or another (better run company) to get the basics right? The next logical thing, contact support. Already holding for 10 minutes, and surpise surpise the message "we're really busy at the moment, sorry for the delay" is played. Always the same...seems Vodafone customer services are always "very busy at the moment". Perhaps the message should be changed to "Sorry, we do not have sufficient agents to manage all our customer needs so instead we play an annoying message to try and irritate them. We are not very good at resource planning but never mind". Now speaking with an agent. Sorry we cannot locate your account, we have two systems now. Tell me your account number and I'll try again." Still can't find it on the old system. Just trying something, please hold on. Now I've been dumped and am back on "we're really busy at the moment, sorry for the delay". This is unbelievable! The agent has dumped my call. Finally someone who could find my account and send me bills (gather there is a small team of 5 taking rerouted calls on old accounts) - might have been good to be directed straight to this team. The agent here resolved the issue very quickly so thank you. More broadly, the executive/s responsible for the systems switch over should replaced - although complex to run, change management is a core management competency (as is programme/project management) and is sadly lacking here. A changeover in systems is not a new phenomenon, for Vodafone it has been a problem for a very long time. I have already cancelled one number with Vodafone. I cannot wait to cancel my other 4 and take my £300-£500 of business per month to a company that is run properly. I also dumped my shares some time ago. Quad play? Get the core business and basics right first.

“Poor customer service ”

written by Duncan314 on 02/01/2016

They don't give a thought to the stress they cause there customers. False promises is what this company thrives on. I have four contracts with them at the end of my two year term I will be moving I wouldn't stay with them if they have me free contracts. For a communications company they know nothing bout communications.
