Don't Buy This Product
My Gaggia had been used about 30 times over 2 years before it broke down. I sent it for repair, only when I realised Philips own the brand, and the service is outsourced. The service was terrible. The repair cost £169, with a 3 month warranty. It broke down after 4 months and they refused to pay for the repair. Did they offer to repair it ? I'll let you be the judge of that.
When it worked, the machine was able to produce good coffee. The Bean grinder makes a difference in comparison to ground coffee. The ability to make lattes is great except you never will use it. However, durability is the key for these products, and the vulnerability of the machine removes any benefit it comes with.
Don't buy this brand.
Gaggia Service Is Non Existent
Having had a GAGGIa Unica machine for 3 months I found it impossible to remove Brew Group from machine this week. Philips Service could offer only a poorly lit video to remove it!! The Polish service centre then said that it would be collected,by whom? I am still waiting for the phantom collector. Do not under any circumstance get involved with such pityfull clowns.
When it works the coffee is good.
I had exactly the same issue

Rubbish Machine
I purchased this Machine December 2010 and apart from a few months coffee making, it has been nothing but trouble. It leaks like a sieve, has been returned twice to the supplier (Caffe Italia) but to no avail, still leaks and has now given up the ghost entirely.
I would recommend this machine like a hole in the head, not really what you want.
Stay away from Gaggia if you want to remain sane and well coffee'd.

I Bought This Gaggia Titanium Rather Than A Jura B
I bought this Gaggia Titanium rather than a Jura because Jura needs to be returned to base for a grinder refit and as I am a fairly heavy coffee drinker that did not suit, however when I have also needed to send my Titanium back for repair (broken steam Valve for Vent problem) it came back bent and the milk steamer overheats the milk so it does not froth, that said they did take it back FOC to try and rectify it, It works OK with the strange Capuchinnaire (or whatever) milk steamer module. My expectations were higher for a bean to cup machine in that the coffee never seems to be strong enough as in other methods such as French press or vento no matter what adjustments are made, and I have tried various pre roasts and home roasted from green, that was probably just my expectations rather than the machine.
I have had my machine for a few years now descale regularly and it keeps working but the build quality is way below the cost of the machine, I need new parts now, which is how I found this page. So overall not as bad as as most of the other reviews but support below par and not of the quality to price, but I have a friend who has the same machine and has not had a problem with his.

For 10 Years We Had A Krups Orchestra, Fully Autom
For 10 years we had a Krups Orchestra, fully automated with digital readout. The machine was wonderful, never went wrong, was easy to maintain (not needing daily strip cleaning of all the working parts and descaling was annual) but we moved from CA to UK and we left it it with our son who was staying out there. The machine is still going as good as ever.
However when we researched in the UK we were very limited in bean to coffee machines and the nearest we could get was this Gaggia...What a mistake!
We are fairly heave coffee drinkers it has to be said. The machine kept going wrong within two months of purchase, lots of phone calls and down time, after six months it gave up even trying to work and we had to send it back to Gaggia. This involved us paying for someone to pick it up and also for delivering it back to us when it was supposed to have been repaired. The machine was away for nearly 12 weeks and when it came back it had not been even looked at, it was not working still. My husband spent ages on the phone with Gaggia engineers (I believe in Wales) who were trying to be very helpful and in the end between them they managed to resolve the issues. These were mainly set around the ventilate issue but it was not as described in the book and the engineers spend time trying many different ways to get rid of this ventilate. the ventilate has come up almost on a daily basis since then but we have managed to resolve it now each time. We are lucky as we have not had any water leaks but today the grinder has given up.We have done the descale (just in case), followed all procedures for a new set up, stripped all the moving parts as described in the book but all to no avail. The machine has now been taken apart at the top to discover that the beans had jammed the grinder mechanism. The machine working mechanisms have now been totally cleaned out but still the machine does not produce coffee as although the grinder is working it will not grind the beans.
This machine was expensive and for durability alone it is bad value for money. It would have been cheaper to have gone out to Starbucks each day for coffee.
As I write this my husband is busy looking for a replacement machine that hopefully will work. At least the choice in the UK is better now than when we first returned here.
I would NEVER recommend Gaggia machines to anyone

I Bought My Gaggia Titanium In 2004, Yes 6 Years A
I bought my Gaggia Titanium in 2004, yes 6 years ago!! I started to have issues with it after 3 years, and when it went in for repair they could find nothing wrong. Guess what, all it needed was descaling. You must do this every month, especially in hard water areas. You must also clean the machine after every use, that means pulling out the brew unit and running under water, every day. I have recommended the Titanium to many friends who all agree, this is the best bean-to-cup machine on the market. All the negative comments on this site are totally contradictory to my experience, and I bet none of them had descaled properly before they had issues. Coffee machines are mechanical devices which will have issues if you don't care for them properly. The ventilate issue described by others is because air has got into the system, probably due to it being run out water. I have it about once a year, no big deal. So everyone out there who has a Titanium that is causing you problems, give it a thorough descale and you'll be amazed how the problems disappear.
I found this review not helpful because... I descaled monthly and the machine broke within 1 week of each descale - always the "ventilate" warning. Having read the other reports, I "restored manufacturer's settings" and it will make coffee, but nothing works thru the steam/water nozzle. I'm waiting to work out when to return it for repair - it's always away for more than one month - and on phoning, always "ready on Thursday"!

Well We Bought One Of These Gaggia Platinum Swing
Well we bought one of these Gaggia Platinum Swing coffee machines on a " spur of the moment" and I tell you do I regret it!
Now only 3 months old and it's in the repair shop as leaking water when turned on.
The repair shop are not real friendly and don't want to communicate at all. They have had it for 3 weeks and still no news...or at least that's what they tell me!
One thing I noticed when I dropped the machine of to them was that there were a lot of these models in for repairs as well.
Very frustrated now as it wasn't a cheap purchase and could of done a lot better I only wish I had read these reviews before I bought it.
I have contacted Gaggia here in Australia and they have not replied to my letter and I don't think they ever will even though I controlled my frustration in writing it.
My recommendation to anyone thinking about purchasing Gaggia is DON"T.

Useless!!!! Totally Unreliable. "ventilate" E
USELESS!!!!
Totally unreliable. "Ventilate" error is the bain of every Titanium owners life. Perhaps Gaggia should have made a product recall to sort these issues out. Then again, it would have probably bankrupted the company. Oh dear, they ain't trading anymore. Not surprised.
Typical Italian engineering. Buy an Alfa Romeo instead :-)
What a useless review, and totally wrong. Gaggia is part of Saeco, one of the largest coffee machine manufacturers on the planet, and Swiss. Gaggia is most definitely still in business, but I suspect this reviewer should stick to buying their coffee at a cafe as they obviously can't cope with the complexities of owning a coffee machine.

Gaggia Titanium have a non existent helpline - don't answer phone or return messages. Quality of parts suspect. Really poor for an expensive machine.

We Have Had No End Of Problems With Our Titanium M
We have had no end of problems with our Titanium machine, I wouldn't touch Gaggia again. Their UK service is useless, and they never sort out a problem, sending the machine back still not in working order. Convinced they have sent back a different machine in some cases as the parts don't fit.
