Came to GiffGaff 6 years ago but decided to leave and return to Asda Mobile 1 year ago. At the time of joining I thought that GiffGaff were great, and had 5 years of good service from them. Certain things bugged me, like the account page of their website (which you use to select your 'Goodybags'/bundles) as it's pretty childish and clearly aimed more towards younger teenagers. The 'Community' section where you could seek help & advice on network issues was also a nuisance as any query you posted tended to get 20-30 responses, mostly users copying suggestions that had already been made in order to gain 'Kudos' - the more 'Kudos' a user got, the more talk/text/data would be added to their account. It meant that the Community was largely pointless as it was full of kids vying to get a few pence extra in phone credit.
Call quality and network (O2) reliability were fine in the first year or two, but as time went on, quality decreased, calls would often drop-out, and there were various unannounced service outages in the town in which I worked. GiffGaff also sells phones which are overpriced compared to what's available elsewhere, and after a particularly poor purchasing experience with their parent company O2, I decided to quit GiffGaff and return to Asda Mobile. Asda's bundles are not quite as good value for me, but their network reliability (EE) and customer service more than make up for it.
