Hercules Flip Solar Charger

I initially looked at the Freeloader Classic(SC8100) but with barely any battery capacity *1,200mAh* combined with a weak overall specification, I decided it wasn't for me.

I then looked at the Solio Classic which was definitely an upgrade from the Freeloader, firstly it's battery capacity is 1,650mAh, however, I was disappointed to read from Solio's own website, the Solio Classic solar power is less than 1 Watt; this is a measurement of the solar panels strength. As my holiday was less than a month away, I decided to buy the Solio Classic anyway from Solarapollo.com.

The Solio Classic was delivered the following day but I was disappointed at first because it was bulky, it seemed clumsy (came with a pencil) and it was heavier than my smart phone. I unwrapped it and left it out in the garden for sometime (with the pencil balancing the Solio to face the sun)

The battery of the Solio was filled to (max) capacity, when I plugged it into my HTC Desire; it charged it 30% of the way. To cut a long story short, I decided to return the Solio to Solarapollo.com using the 28 day moneyback option.

Whilst on Solarapollo.com I looked at the Hercules Flip with 2000mAh, which is double the capacity Freeloader solar charger offers.

I also noticed the solar power of the Hercules Flip was significantly more than that of the Solio Classic, this is what let the Solio down.

I also looked for product reviews for the Hercules Flip and they all said this was a excellent product. I decided to take a punt as my holiday was now just 2 weeks away and I knew I could always return it to Solarapollo.com, if I changed my mind for whatever reason as before.

When the Hercules arrived I gave it a quick examination, the casing was extremely rigid and seemed like a well designed product and again I left this in my garden for the same amount of time to charger.

When I got back I discovered the battery of my Hercules solar charger was fully charged. I then started the process of charging my HTC Desire and behold my battery was charged to full capacity; happy days!!

This was due to the Hercules Flip having extra battery capacity and with enhanced solar power on it's panels.

I would definitely recommend the Hercules Flip, I have since gone on holiday and it has worked extremely well, it's durable and compact.
