Great magazine but bad corporate culture. Outside presents a great culture, but it is so disappointing to find them assuming that I'll want to subscribe forever and keeping a death grip on my credit card number. I guess at their heart they are no different than any other greedy publishing agency.

After buying the magazine sporadically for years, I committed and bought a membership a year ago - and have been under-whelmed. This is not the magazine I remember for long, in-depth, character based stories of harrowing adventures. It seems like most cover stories are now devoted to semi-clad male models/athletes and many of the articles are light, lifestyle pieces without a strong story component. The occasional, more substantial fare, like this months Cliff-Hanger and the recent story of the Darien Gap made me decide to renew my membership - but without much enthusiasm. Hoping to see more stuff I can sink my teeth into - in the coming months.

Great magazine ! Only thing I'm not liking is my subscription order said If i paid on-line i get a bonus water bottle & access to outside+iPad APP. Did that but no where in that process was I told that I would get any of these things or how to use that APP.now I probably have to call and spend 15 mins. On phone trying to figure it out.
