Surly Staff, Who Despite Over Charging Me (for A S
Surly staff, who despite over charging me (for a sea view room I did not stay in) argued that I was charged the correct rate. Despite confirming my room was indeed not a sea view, they insisted they were charging the correct rate. Despite the bill saying "sea view room". Had to get the manager involved to refund the money. Also charged me for breakfast which was included in my roomrate. When I complained, guess what? They argued this was correct. I had to produce my original confirmation e-mail to prove to them they had over charged me.
The staff are rude, particularly one of the bar men. Who could barely disguise his contempt for anyone who asked to be served.

The Queens Hotel Did Little To Impress Me. O
The Queens hotel did little to impress me.
On arrrival the entrance to the car park was blocked for a considerable amount of time by a Tourist road train. I can only presume that this train is run as a side line to the hotel as it was blocking off the entire car park. The driver had just got out and wondered off paying no regard to cars waiting to get in or out.
After finally parking the car, we were met by a gruff looking man who when I explained I was here to check in, didn't actually manage to acknowledge me but got on a radio to call the receptionist. Within a few moment a perfectly pleasant receptionist appeared who dealt with us very quickly. It was such a shame she smelt so strongly of tobacco smoke.
The rooms are clean but bland. Cheap repro furniture and a couple of poor quality prints do little to enhance it.
The bathroom was functional but not particularly clean. There was a digusting non slip shower mat and some dried matter on the tiles that had ben missed by the cleaners. The shower was only tepid when it was used in the morning.
Be warned they're very fast to ask you to leave in the morning.
Check out is at 11.00am and literally at 11.02am I recieved a phone call from reception asking me why i hadn't checked out. This was on the weekend when the clocks had gone forward and I feel that the management could have been a bit more lenient.
I did mention this to the duty manger who just shrugged his shoulders.

The Hotel Was Very Well Organized In Dealing With
The hotel was very well organized in dealing with weddings, from the first meeting with the wedding planner to the final checkout of our room after a wonderful reception. Food was good, staff very attentive and helpful, duty manager also acted as toastmaster which was a real help as he just kept everything moving, without being rushed.
