Great Service And Advice

Precious Moments was recommended to me by my best friend and I booked my appointment and went along with my mum.

We were greeted very warmly and I tried on 4 or 5 dresses and loved the whole experience. I actually purchased my dress on that day and got the shoes as well.

I paid my 50% deposit and then paid off approx £50 till I had saved enough to pay it off. I went back again with a friend to show her the dress and to discuss how to wear my hair and again the assistant was fantastic and came up with lots of very helpfull advice.

I then had a trial hair do and went again to try on my actual dress and then I purchased a hair accessory as well.

I was never once made to feel that I was not special and I loved the whole experience.

I got married abroad and got the dress boxed up for me to carry on as hand luggage on the plane. The size of the box was compliant with hand luggage specifications so it was perfect.

Thanks for making my wedding dress shopping so much fun.

Wouldn't Even Recommend To An Enemy!

I would only recommend shopping in Precious Moments in Rayleigh if you consider yourself to be TOO happy, TOO excited about your wedding, just generally TOO self confident, and feel like you need to be taken down a peg or two!

I visited the shop last Saturday. The second of three trips which each of my bridesmaids and I was treated abysmally. Despite being a size 14 (below national average) the woman repeatedly told me that I would get into their selection of dresses, making me feel fat and unattractive. She also refused to let me try on any of the dresses I wanted to (and know suit me because I’ve already tried on dresses elsewhere) and rolled her eyes and tutted every time HER choice wasn’t my cup of tea.

She didn’t even ask who I brought with me, so called my sister my “friend” at one point. Her response to my answer about colour scheme was “Oh right” and just generally she did not care an ounce what I wanted, about my wedding or anything other than making me try on the dresses SHE wanted.

I remained calm and carried on with the appointment, willing her not to get to me but I got home and sobbed. Luckily my bridesmaids, fiancé and family are wonderful and quickly cheered me up and my dad popped out on his bike to get me some flowers.

I would not touch this place with a barge pole. I have written a letter of complaint telling them even if they gave me a dress for free I wouldn’t take it! Every “Moment” in this shop was far from “Precious” and I can’t wait to go to some shops where the staff know how to interact with human beings!

I did receive a very nice and genuine sounding apology from the manager which was nice (rather than hearing excuses), but I would definitely never go back!

Jeez, so sorry to hear that! My experience was over a year ago and the manager sent me a ncie letter apologising but obviously has done nothing to improve the attitude of her awful staff! Good luck hunting elsewhere! I can recommend Matchmaker bridal in Brentwood, they were perfect from start to finish! xxx

I totally agree! Arrived early for our appointment and asked if it was ok to have a look around and was told NO then the rude lady (she was the old one with short brown hair) said I WOULD RATHER YOU STUCK TO YOUR APPOINTMENT TIME! YOU NEED TO GO.... Well of course we are never buying anything from her. The shop won't last long with a stuck up assistant like her!

Unhelpful, Disappointing, Rude Staff

I purchased a dress that was in the sale. It wasn't exactly what I wanted but after i stood there holding in the skirt, the sales lady informed me that I could have it altered to make it 'my perfect dress', I didn't hesitate. I purchased the dress and showed them what I wanted altered. It was an a line dress that I wanted to be more fitted and straight. I was told this was no problem, even though it required a number of beads to be realigned etc.

I went back around 3 weeks prior to my wedding and the dress was nothing like what I wanted. It had been taken in to fit me around the bust but the skirt had barely changed. I explained to the member of staff that it wasn't right and she looked at me and said 'it's an a line dress'. I explained that I had had a discussion with the lady who sold me the dress and she Had told me it wasnt a problem to alter the skirt shape (I'm not familiar with any type of alterations, so I took her word for it).

I could tell that the member of staff was getting fed up but I kept explaining that I would not of bought the dress had I Been told it wouldn't be exactly what I wanted. I went away, returning the next week. I was so worried.

I arrived at the shop the following week and I felt very unwelcome. I put the dress on again and yet again it had barely altered. I was so upset and now starting to panic a little as the skirt was much bigger than I ever wanted and I was getting married in a very small venue (held 20!). The member of staff was SO uninterested. I was close to tears and asked to speak with the lady who was completing the alterations. Well, she came down and couldn't have been more inconvienienced! It was awful, I felt so embarrassed. I held the skirt in and said this what I explained to the lady who sold me this dress, I wanted a straighter skirt. The alteration looked at me rudely and said 'it's an a line dress, it would have been easier to make something like that from scratch'. Trying to remain calm, I explained that i wanted her to do the best she could but I wasn't convinced she actually cared whatsoever. My dress now felt manhandled and it was a such a worry. If I had the money and time I would have gone elsewhere to choose another dress.

My dress NEVER met my expectations and they never my seemed to care about it. They offered no reduction in fees or anything remotely constructive to make me feel better. Not even an apology.

I agree with the other reviews that say as soon as they have your money, you become unimportant.

I would not recommend to anyone. There are many bridal shops around this area and this one doesn't not deserve to survive with their uninterested and rude staff.

Stear clear.

Wonderful Experience, Amazing Staff And Gorgeous Dresses!

I had visited many bridal shops in essex and none compared to the service that I recieved at Precious Moments. The second I walked through the door I was immediately greeted with a warm friendly welcome. The shop itself is beautifully designed and the dresses were by far the best I had seen and i had been to many shops!! [name removed], the bridal assistant could not have done more for me at my viewing. She was patient, friendly, gave me excellent guidance and made me feel very special. I was marrying abroad and so was very nervous about transporting my dress, choosing the right weight, right material etc. [name removed] answered my concerns and put my mind at rest. All the staff were brilliant and made sure that nothing went wrong from start to finish! I also bought my shoes and tiara from the shop and again fab service.

I chose my dress the same day after trying on a selection of dresses in the shop. I was helped in and out of the dresses and given time to think about my choices. The one thing that stood out for me is the way my mum felt. She absolutely loved the viewing and it made her day to see me try on all the dresses. [name removed] made my mum a part of the experience, involving her etc and that was the thing that mattered the most for me. I'm not a lovey dovey type but I definitely got that warm fuzzy feeling after I left my viewing and fitting!

Thanks to all the staff for making the important decision of choosing my perfect dress so special! I have recommended you to all my friends and strangers! Keep up the fantastic work xx

Professional & Helpful

I got my wedding dress and bridemaids dresses from Precious Moments.

I had a fantastic first appointment and felt very at ease. When we went back for our bridesmaids dresses, although the shop was very busy, the girls made time and effort to make sure we were attended to and had everything we needed!

I had an appointment to try on my wedding dress, and the staff helped me choose matching accessories... I felt like a princess :)

The shop had a wonderful selection of wedding dresses, bridesmaid dresses and accessories. I would recommend anyone to go there!

Customer Service Drops Once They Got Your Money

I am actually in the process of buying my dress from this shop, the first actual experience was great, the staff so helpful and really gave great advice on what would suit me. So I went ahead and paid the down payment on a dress, when I was called back to try on my actual dress it seemed attitudes changed, basically handed the dress over no real help in trying it on. I needed get to some alterations done which I was told I had to arrange myself (although they do have a contact).

I had to pay the final payment of the dress. And I just felt they really couldn't be bothered becouse they already had the money.

Difficult one to call as part of me wants to give a good review but I cant help feeling that now I have handed over my money that I am just an inconvenience.

Don't Bother Going To Precious Moments Rayleigh

Do not shop at precious moments in Rayleigh Essex I'm a bride to be and I had booked an appointment a week in advance for one if my bridemaids to try on potential dresses. We arrived on time to the store and we were semi greeted by a petite blonde woman then just pointed in the direction of the dresses. We had selected the dresses we wanted to try on and we waited politely for a few minutes while the two shop assistants were talking to each other. We then had to interrupt them to say we had selected some dresses. My bridesmaid was not helped in and out of dresses, I had to help her. Then we waited another few minutes after trying on the dresses but the assistant who was dealing with us did not return to see if we liked any of the dresses or if we needed any other assiststance. We walked back through the shop and the other member of staff (brown hair, young girl) made no attempt to help us. There was no interaction between the staff and us. They made no attempt to welcome us or discuss our wedding or sell us their products. We were made to feel like an in-convince to them.
