Celebration Village Manchester

I went to buy my wedding dress from here and I was glad I did. The staff were lovely and friendly and couldn't do enough for me. I am in a wheelchair so I told them what au wanted and they lifted dresses off the hangers so I could look at them. I was assisted when getting changed, they even put a tiara on so I could see what it would look like. They made a real fuss every time I went in and made me feel very special and beautiful. I would revommemd Celebration Village to anybody who is planning their big day.

If you are considering hiring bridal wear / suits from Celebration Village, then I urge you to think again. If I could rate this place 0* then I would happily do so

We went in and got measured for wedding suits approx. 8-9 weeks ago, the guy ( Eli ) measured us all and said he will order the suits in. I paid a deposit of £200 with the balance paid on final fitting. Having not heard from him and only 10 days to my wedding I had to call to see if the suits have arrived and to book a final fitting. On calling he didn't even know who I was and it took him 20 minutes to find my paperwork. We booked a final fitting and when we got there the suits were all incorrect sizes and looked an absolute mess. The collars on our shirts were dirty, the trousers were all 36inch inside leg, the waist coats were all 4 sizes to big and the cravats looked like someone had wiped their backside on them. They told us they can alter them but we would have to pay for any alterations, so what was the point in measuring us in the first place ??? I lost my patience and asked to speak to the manager ( Bobby ) He wasn't there so they advised me to call the next day as I wanted my £200 deposit back. On ringing Bobby, he advised the suits are all ok and we are complaining about nothing, he also told me he will not give me back my money. AVOID THIS PLACE - DO NOT VISIT AND CERTAINLY DO NOT PART WITH ANY MONEY AS YOU WILL NEVER SEE IT AGAIN

After several visits to wedding dress shops, we just decided to have a look, found a couple of dresses with a young assistant, but she was leaving so another was foundwho asked what price range i had, i told her and she was really helpful but found nothing, she went upstairs and brought down two dresses in my size ( am a big lady and an older bride ) the first one i fell in love with.... she worked with me, as it was from older stock and only one 1 of them, We paid and now its mine i am so so happy ...

I would definiately recommend to anyone to go have a look and if possible ask for her she was truly amazing and knew what she was talking about..

After being let down the week before my wedding because when my dress arrived from overseas it was too small. A friend recommended Celebration village and I was not disappointed. I tried on a selection of dresses and Lindsay was on a mission to find me 'the' dress and not only did she do that but as the dress was too big was able to arrange a fitting, alterations (by their inhouse seamstress) and a final fitting all within 3 days. The dress was gorgeous and a perfect fit. It was such a relief to finally find a wedding dress and at such short notice. I had lots of excellent comments about my dress on my wedding day. My only wish was that I had visited there sooner.

I can't understand why there are so many negative reviews on this site. I ordered my dress very late but it still arrived on time. The service was excellent and they made me feel very special when I went for my fitting. The dress was perfect and fit me exactly, and they even attached a loop so that I could pin up the train free of charge! We also hired 5 suits from celebration village and the service was second to none. I would recommend that anyone use celebration village, as they helped to make our day special and we have no complaints at all.

Celebration village is a huge store where you will fing everything for your wedding day, i originally went in to ask about chair cover hire but ended up looking at the dresses which they have a very wide selection so i later made a appointment to try some on.

The Lady was very helpfull and friendley and i did choose a dress that day. it was only after i looked at reviews about this shop and then was worried with what i was reading but the dress was orderd and it is made clear that deposits are non refundable so just went with it. Anyway since then i have been back to try the dress on again as my mum hadnt seen it and then when my dress came in i went to try that one on and all i can say is the staff was very nice, no one spoke to me like a child or gave me funny looks everybody have been helpfull. im due to go in in a couple of weeks for alterations so fingers crossed this goes well.

The shop on a whole could do with some updating and the guy i saw about the chair covers was very expensive.. he did say the more you hire/buy the cheeper he will make it as he also does invitatiov, car hire, table decorations ect, but i found better deals else wear. but the dresses are resonably priced...

Buy a wedding dress from this shop has been the most stressful experience of my life! From start to finish my experiences with them were horrific.

After having ordered the dress I then moved to London which made going back to Manchester for fittings more difficult. I made this very clear to the shop and each time I went for fittings I had to take time off work.

The first fitting after arriving and talking through the alterations I required (which included taking up and adding bust pads)I was advised that the lady who does the bust pads was not there so I couldn't be measured up that day and had to make another appointment to go back. I also ordered a side tiara from a brochure whilst I was there.

On my next visit, firstly they were surprised to see me even though I rang twice to confirm my appointment... Halfway through this fitting I was left unattended whilst the seamstress went to deal with someone else for 20 minutes. I then asked about my tiara and everyone was confused telling me there was no tiara... Turns out they'd sold it to someone else! They couldn't even tell me the designer/description or details of the tiara so that I could one myself.

The final straw came a week before I was due to fly abroad for my wedding. Again I advised it was difficult getting there from London, I had to take time off work and rang to confirm the appointment. Halfway on my journey I received a phone all to say the seamstress had rang in sick so they had to postpone my appointment. Explaining this was not possible as I was on my way from London and couldn't come another time. It then emerged that alterations on my dress hadn't even started!

I then had to find a seamstress who could do all of this for me in under a week which is the last thing a bride to be needs! Luckily a lovely lady who works for seventh heaven in congleton came to the rescue. She did an amazing job and I was relieved in the end celebration village hadn't done them.

However they caused me not only a loss to my pocket from the lost days at work, travelling costs etc, but also utter despair and anxiety in what should have been a wonderful happy time.

I urge to go elsewhere - I don't even think they are really cheaper than other places so no benefit to going there!!

This company should have been called disaster village, we ordered dresses 14 months before the date of the wedding. Upon arrival into the store we discovered they had totally messed up the order and ordered the wrong styles. After finding out we couldnt get the correct styles in we had to settle for the ones that had arrived and one of the bridesmaids had to settle for one that had been in the store and tried on by several people.

Not once throughout all of this did I lose my temper with themdespite the total upset that they had caused me.

After all the final fittings, we collected the dresses. On the day of my wedding, we opened the dresses to find that 2 out of the 3 dresses had problems with them. At the back of the dresses they were missing the fasteners that kept the dresses in place. On one of the dresses, the back was all coming undone, and the lace in the back of the dress was all uneven and not sewn properly.

My daughter had to sew one of the bridesmaids into her dress and sew individual fasteners into place in order that that they stayed into place.

I decided to call celebration village to complain, at this point I became upset. I asked for the manager, I started to explain what had happened, she turned round and told me it was my problem and that we should have checked the dresses ourselves. She said that it wasnt the problem and proceeded to put the phone down on me.

Never in my life have I received such disgusting cutomer service as to this company and this disgrace of a manager who calls herself a business woman.

I hope that they take the time to read the comments that are posted onto the site, but to be honest they probably wouldnt give a damn if they did.

Hopefully, you do read this and all I can say is that you are a disgrace to the industry you are in and need to re evaluate yourself as a business woman. You already have as a company a bad name for which I discovered to late off several people, plus you also have a bad reputation throughout the industry that you represent.

went at the end of feb 2012, didnt have an appointment but wasnt a problem, an assistant helped straight away and asked about the wedding and budget, i was worried at prices from 1200/1800 and not really knowing what i wanted, was also worried about size as dieting and losing weight.

2nd dress i tried i fell in love with and my mum and cousin cried so i knew it was the one, stroke of luck it was in sale for 525!! they measured me and the dress was to be made to measure and could be taken in upto 3 sizes if needed.

now im worried about all reviews about late dresses, we fly to cyprus on 26th september and they have said it will be ready middle of august and alterations will be ready for mid-sept if needed, they will be needed as already lost a dress size! if mine arrives on time it will be with only around 10 days to spare!!!

also worried now that ive thought about it if it was in the sale will it really be made brand new??

my ratings are from experience so far but now v.worried i wont have a dress in time and if i do will it be of good standard???

I got married July 2011, We were treated like adults! All the staff here were amazing & so helpful, & value for money. They take in to consideration wedding cost and how expensive they are & let you pay off your dream dress my instalments. I had a fantastic wedding thanks to Celebration Village & there staff, I would recommend this store to anyone.
