Would Not Recommend

I went wedding dress shopping at Aurora with my mum and best friend. The shop itself is beautiful and very spacious. The lady who was helping us, however, was really quite rude and made the experience very uncomfortable and not at all enjoyable. I felt I was made to feel bad for leaving this too late, and numerous times she stated that I need to get one now. At one point I was told that she wasn't "getting anything from" me...as I was just saying the dresses are lovely..fair enough. However when I did then say that I liked one thing about the dress but not another, she rudely said that she can't do anything about that. I thought what's the point!? I really wanted to leave the shop as I felt so uncomfortable and like I was being told off the whole time.

Hi - we take all reviews seriously - unfortunately some brides do have tight timescales and we have to advise them of this - it’s seems you may have been in this situation

Sadly some designers don’t allow us to change their gowns so we cannot amend if a bride dislikes one option on the gown and hope you can forgive that problem

As for the lady helping you im sad you didn’t get on with her personality but our staff try so hard to be present and helpful for all brides - we hope you found an amazing dress and have a lovely wedding

Nearly Ruined My Wedding Dress Shop Experience

I told them the date of my wedding and was made to feel bad about leaving it so close to the day itself, despite telling them over the phone when booking the appointment.

Also after telling them my budget, I was put off trying a dress I was about to try on and spoken to in a really patronising way, just because it was outside my budget(them not knowing I had the option to stretch the budget if I really liked the dress).

Nearly ruined by shopping experience.

Hi

We never make brides feel bad about leaving things late but we do have to highlight their timescale when looking at gowns outside their timeline - we do hope brides can understand we can only tell people the situation and hope they appreciate we do our best with timelines set by designers not ourselves

We do advise brides not to try on gowns outside of their budget range (not for personal or Shop reasons) but mainly because we don’t want to break anyone’s heart to try something on outside their budget and be upset they cannot have the gown - no one in store is patronising but understand budget issues can be sensitive issues and tones can be misconstrued - we wish you all the best for the future tho xxx

Bad Attitude, Poor Service

My daughter in law to be booked an appointment to retry a dress she had previously tried in December. When we arrived (there were 4 of us plus the bride to be) we were told we couldn't sit of one of the seats because another client was coming in. No other seating offered. Then they brought out the dress, but it wasn't the dress she had gone to try. We were told yes it was! It had a different name and a totally different style. The assistant then went on to say the bride to be must have told them the wrong dress, even though they had taken all the details at the previous fitting. They said the dress was no longer available as the sample had been sold, but she could try on others if she wanted, but it didn't seem they really wanted her to. In the end we left the shop very dispondent and disappointed. Managed to source another stockist of the same dress, they arranged for us to go and see it the same afternoon, and they got a sale! Totally different experience. Not good business throwing away the chance of a £2000 sale!

We are terribly sorry that you did not enjoy your experience with us - unfortunately when you booked the appt you only mentioned the gown you wanted to try on was long sleeved and by Ronald Joyce - I asked if this was the Electra gown and you confirmed - this gown was then pulled out during your appt and we realised the unfortunate human error that you meant another long sleeved Ronald Joyce dress that we had to sell to a bride whose wedding did not leave her long enough to wait to order a new gown and so it was not available for you to try. Our staff could not apologise enough for the terrible mix up and our manager also joined your appt to see if there was any way we could help with any other dresses - this is one time when I am so sorry to say the customer is not right our staff members were never rude or have any sort of bad attitude towards you it was just a shame that a complete mix up and human error in commication meant the gown you wanted to try was not in store but I am glad you managed to find your gown and we wish you all the best X

Poor Service, Unprofessional, I Would Not Recommend!

Really wish I had never purchased my dress from this store as it was one disaster after another. I have friends who purchased dresses at the same time as me and they have had a similar experience. Such a shame as the only one who really is effected is the bride.

Hi - please could you email us with your full name and problems we always want to be able to help brides with any grievances and only have one bride with your name but her wedding is only just gone so not the same one - we have not had any complaints in store so just want to check you have the right store as you mention other problems?

Poor Serice

I ordered my suits from them, as my wife was a bride there. The price changed, after I was given a quote. When I raised it, the price was lowered, but was still higher than the quote.

All communication was done via my wife, despite them having my contact details, and the suits being for the grooms party, including appointment confirmations.

Then I called to collect the suits, I was told by a rude woman, that we would need to try them on in store (which we werent told before) and that we coundt have them as it was a fitting only day. After spending that much money in thier shop I was dissapointed.

She was unhelpful, and not polite. There is alot in the way you say something!

Not happy, given that this was the most expensive place we looked at. Doesnt make me want to support a local business again!

Given I tried to secure the price at the beginning and was told to pay later, I find your prices change comment, and my fault for waiting 4 months hard to swallow. I also find the idea that I though someone's accent is the reason I felt badly treated highly offensive. I have never had a problem with any kind of accent. My problems at the time were entirely based in what was said, or not said.

I find it hard to really give any further comments as I posted the review over a year ago.

Just to respond to your concerns - you were quoted and then 4 months later returned to order - our menswear designer does increase their prices much the same as other stores and products but after you confirmed we had quoted you a price we matched the original quote for you at expense to ourselves

We do not have any rude women in store we are a really friendly group and I do very much resent you calling a staff member of ours rude but I apologise if you felt you were not treated with friendliness and helpfulness. I believe you spoke with terry and she has a South African accent and can come across as harsh but is not - please do not read more into her tone than is meant she is lovely and friendly. Also it does state all over our paperwork that you signed and the receipt you took home that you would need to collect and try your suits on in store just for your own piece of mind that they fit you - we always like to 100% make sure that our grooms look amazing on the day of their wedding and this is how we can ensure that - if you do not want to do that you are more than welcome to collect we just can't guarantee your suits will fit perfectly

No Prices Available

Want to know whether the store in Sutton sell dresses in my price range. No prices available on website and when i emailed them they didnt have a price list and were too busy to email me the prices on the dresses I liked. They did say they had a few dresses in my price range but couldnt tell me which ones they are. They suggested I pop in at their sale this weekend but its by appointment only. I live in Berkshire so it would have been nice to know what specific dresses were in my price bracket to know whether its worth a trip! Frustrating

Sorry that we could not help you - we do show price ranges per designer on our website and also in our FAQs page on our website

As for each gowns prices we have over 200 bridal gowns in store and just would not be able to give prices for all or even a small percentage of our gowns out over the phone or by email it logistically would not be possible

We do hope that our guides online help but apologise we could not help you on this occasion

Aurora Bridal At Earls Court Wedding Show

I met the lovely ladies at the London Earl's Court Wedding Show and they could not have been more delightful or helpful. As an older bride, with grown up children and grandchildren, they were so sweet and did not make me feel in any way foolish or "mutton dressed as lamb'. In fact they made me feel utterly lovely and very special! I can't wait to go to the shop and meet them all again. Thank you Aurora Bridal.

Poor Service

Bought wedding dress - firstly it was delayed and secondly they knew that I'll be travelling to another country with this dress- didnt even offer a travel cover for charge. The price are atleast £300 more compared to other shops.

All our gowns come with garment travel bags and have done for 9 years - this is completely free of charge so not sure if you got your gown from us or another Aurora?? We also do not have prices £300 more than other stores - we are priced by our designers so exactly the same or less than other stores? I wonder if you have the wrong store?

Loved It! Went To New Store In Cheam W

Loved it!

Went to new store in Cheam was great - ended up with a brand new dress in sample sale as they have only been open a while it was almost brand new i spose not actually new!

great team they all helped me as went on quiet weekday - my sister is going back for her dress for her wedding next yr and cant wait to be on the other side this time!
