John English Hairdressing

I would recommend going there as i have been going there for the last 15 years, but unfortunately no one can go anymore because they have gone into liquidation, because of the existing owners failure to propoerly run the company - all of there assets have been ceased including the owners house because they were not keeping up with the bills.

A real shame because as a whole the company seemed to be running fine from a salon perspective, and the hairdressers there are next to non with an excellant training scheme in place. Really sad when i heard a few days ago, but i guess nothing lasts forever!

Been going here for 10 years, in the past have occasionally been to the odd one or 2 cheaper salons when been short of money but never come out as satisfied. colours they use are very good and always been spot on. well worth paying a bit more for the staffs expertise and quality of colours used etc. John English Hairdressing make you feel right at home. brill.

I would have no hesitation in recommending John English in Tontine Street to anyone. Having gone to the same hairdressers for years and fed up of a 90 miles round trip, I looked which for a new a hairdressers nearer to home. John English seemed to be the one. I went with trepidation as I didn't want my hair to look like a dogs breakfast. I needn't have worried. My hair was cut and coloured beautifully. They use Colourstart colours and you have to use a skin patch test 48 hours before they colour your hair. This is, I think a good point in their favour. My old hairdressers never gave me a skin test, ever! Since I have had my hair done I have had a lot of compliments. The staff at Hanley Tontine Street are lovely, they are very friendly and professional. In fact I am so pleased I am treating my daughter to a cut and colour.

I am a professional hairdresser by trade but had to finish due to health reasons so i can obviously tell when i go to a good hairdressers or a bad one! Some staff at other John English salons have seemed inconsiderate towards me when I went to have my hair done in the past.

Newcastle john english is the best salon i have ever been to, i go out feeling on top of the world, i look great and I've had the time of my life in there with ALL the staff!! (they also do great discount cards for new clients which is a great plus)!!!!!

I visited the John English in cheadle, and found my overall expeirence was very plesant and enjoyable. The staff were very professional, courtious and friendly. They explained every thing that they were doing and going to do, i would definetly recommend anyone in need of good hairdresser.

John English restored my hair after a 'local' salon had over-layered, highlighted and razored my hair, which did not suit my hair type, leaving it frizzy and this took over 3 hours! John English in Hanley use professional colours with no bleach and cut my hair to suit me in 1 hr 10mins. I am willing to pay that little bit more money on quality now!
