I need help applying to CICA as I'm a victim of violent crime. A para legal got all sorts of personal details from me about the traumas I've had, and some copies of medical records - worsened my mental health having to talk through horrific traumas I've had where healthcare workers assaulted me. Then the same para legal sent me an email saying "We are at capacity" (meaning "We don't want to help you"). So I replied saying 'can you put me on a waiting list then?' and got no reply. All this firm have done is play around with my mental health, and now they have some of my records. I would stay away from this firm if you are suffering with your mental health, because they want the easy stuff that makes life easy for them, so avoid risking your health issues increasing.

I wanted Irwin Mitchell to deal with a medical negligence case for me, I called to Irwin Mitchell and explained my case that I wanted a case for medical negligence I was assured that Irwin Mitchell would take the case for me Sent a letter to Irwin Mitchell together with written evidence The customer services never ever replied had to chase for an update My allotted solicitor had been on holiday so was not up to speed with my case for medical negligence Had a telephone call to explain my case was told that my solicitor would have to consult their colleagues to take the case Got a call back to tell me that they could not take the case The reason was that they could not take the case was because of Covid It was their policy that anything that happened during Covid was not to be taken My case was pre-covid despite pointing this out to them they still insisted that my case was during covid and therefore they could not take the case It would seem that because of Covid Irwin Mitchell could not take any cases How ridiculous is that ANYONE PLEASE PLEASE AVOID Irwin Mitchell this company is just a waste of time and effort

I simply cannot recommend this firm. Your details are initially taken by a call handler with no legal experience, and he or she will make the determination as to whether they will take on your case and pass it onto a solicitor. So your case is the hands of someone with no legal experience and no legal qualifications. They make the decision as to whether it is a legally viable case. Looking at the negative reviews for this firm, they cannot all be wrong.

I was referred to Irwin Mitchell as my insurance company deals with them. She made sure to avoid all calls and emails despite chasing time and again knowing full well that my case was extremely time sensitive and there was a huge amount at stake that I was trying to recover. At each point she dragged things out the maximum possible time was rude uncooperative petty to the point of becoming impossible to deal with and threatened me constantly that she would ask my insurers to stop funding her legal fees. It has now been over 1 month and this incompetent woman with a chip on her shoulder has done less than nothing. Meanwhile I have been spending my hard earned money on lawyers directly. Now she has tried to get funding to 'write a letter' thT she knows has not only been written but also a response received. I have paid the insurance premium, I have paid lawyers directly, I have gone through so much stress and hassle to provide all the case material to this lazy incompetent woman and now she has had the cheek to get funding from my insurers to pay for her undeserved holiday without passing any benefits to me. Long story short despite my insurers paying out this greedy womN with a grudge to bear Hs made sure I get no help and made my case impossible and also kept the money for sitting Nd doing nothing but be a pain. IF YOUR INSURERS USE IM CHANGE THEM I KNOW I WILL.

We went through 18 months of hell with this company,we had 3 different paralegals which meant we had to go through the whole process with them each time,they told us to walk away and shake hands with the defendant as they stated the amount claimed would only be £300 (in fact we sued for over £10,000!!)They called us by our wrong names,they sent letters to the defendant in the wrong name and to add insult to injury they closed our case because they informed our insurance company we would not get any money.....because the defendant stated he had none!!! (The defendant had already settled two CCJ's against him).This company is a disgrace, avoid at all costs!

Waste of time, fell in a two and a half inch deep pothole, had witnesses, photos everything, fractured my shoulder along with bruising to other parts of my body, they came back with, the council can't be expected to maintain every pavement, it wasn't a pavement it was a car park, now they won't stop calling me every hour on the hour even though they didn't want to take on my case, after reading the reviews here, I'm glad I went elsewhere.

I received very good expert service in an extremely timely manner. My medical problem arose out of the blue & to have a calm measured response to a very traumatic episode was extremely helpful & comforting. The person I dealt with was always availanble to discuss any concerns & I would certainly recommend the practice to anyone with legal concerns. Thank you.

Biggest mistake of my life they lie about what they have said,make you wait if you want to speak and make out that everything is your fault you would never have a normal life again if you let these “ caring people” control your money so don’t do it!!

No communication whatsoever. Only interested if insurance companies pay out with no objections.lost forms, lost photographs and to be honest totally useless. Tell them how the accident occurred and then they write to you getting it totally wrong. I'm still awaiting letter posted apparently in July telling me they were dropping my case. Now why does that not surprise me.

Would like to thank everyone involved with my case at Irwin Mitchell in Sheffield especially the person I dealt with every aspect of my rehabilitation process was made easy and great care was taken throughout, very sympathetic towards not only my needs but my whole family's needs. Thank you so much to the person I dealt with and all involved. There are not really any bad points apart from the waiting but then things don't happen overnight as I have learnt throughout the case and yet again my mind was put at ease and constantly reassured.

In practice, how different the real experience is to what their tv ad glossing over the poor treatment they dish out to their protected customers. I know it's now not uncommon for these big lawyer firms to actually reach out to the other side to exchange real time information that helps each other out. And if you are unfortunate to be pulled into the rigged system where you think they are helping but they really are not god help you and your wallet. Simple enough claim of personal injury where liability was accepted by the other side and somehow I still end up losing the claim and case closed down. If it wasn't for their eye watering final bill settlement.

Published 11 minutes ago Updated 86 seconds ago Communications good apparently - they just done tell the client I approached Irwin Mitchell in November 2015, since then I've chased them, sat back and seen weeks go by, complained. Then told I will speak to my manager and come back to you (approx 4 weeks ago) my complaint letter says we have informed you (in this letter that your access to legal expenses will not cover you? That's the first I knew, no one has told me the funding I provided wasnt acceptable. I had previodly said I'd pay my expenses / claims myself but I've given up. I've never known a firm who may ask and make enquiries but fail to update a client. It's only when (said client calls or emails - several times, I may, if lucky get a response) some replies have been quite abrupt. I've still not had a welcome letter (apparently you get one of these) terms and conditions, I've been told a no win no fee but then if you win we want a success fee that they can't tell me what it is but would take some or a bit of any compensation, but bizzaly won't tell me? Weird. So I'm now in a second complaint, no one (solicitor who's dealing) has contacted me in 6/8 weeks. I dont have a clue if I have anyone doing anything with my instruction and I'm not sure I want anyone in this firm to waste anymore of my time . In November 2016 I'll have been on somones computer for a year and haven't event even got passed the post of funding- if that's what Irwin Mitchell think is good communication then it needs to take a long hard look at itself and ask are we providing good value to our clients . How long do you allow funding to drag on for? Set yourself a time limit and just be crystal clear about your process, when your contacted Id expect an email response, it's common curitcy to reply within a set time.. I'm tempted to just terminate my dealings and go elsewhere but not until I've printed all my emails which will prove how many times I've sent requests and had no reply. Vs the times you case audit and say I've been contacted. There are many more times I've emailed you and had nothing even though you state this is not the case My final point.. You've had instruction almost 1yr and nothing's happened? Do you think that's acceptable given I have chronic pain through a negligent supplier and lower spinal injuries I would never, ever use or reccomend Irwin mitchell ever.. I think your too big, lose focus on your customers, you don't know who's doing what and you don't accept when things go wrong. If you want any advice on dealing with customers - ask your customer date team to show you how to communicate. Up to now if give them 10/10, they've delivered what they have said they will do and it can see an ending in site. With you and your legal team we've not even seen a beginning Edit

DO NOT USE These solicitors are merely puppets, with their strings pulled by the insurers they work for. They are only concerned with keeping the insurers happy, not the clients and will go to ANY lengths to do so. Callous and untrustworthy, be warned

I was injuried at work and after nearly a year I get a letter saying the company is small employing only one person so it has none to little assets and I wouldnt get anything, which is a lie as I know and worked for them, so no they are closing my case.

I was involved in a car accident in July 2015 when a bus hit the side of the car making the car a write off. The driver accepted full responsibility. But the slow service and the feeling of not fighting my corner so too speak and being told I would get between £1700 - £2000 and when I phone up to see what's happening they have now misplaced my files. I would not recommend anyone to go with these. There were two other people in the vehicle we were all taken by ambulance and one had to be stretched and items of clothing cut and been told can not claim the money back for this or a mobile phone broken.They have all received the same standard of care from Irwin Mitchell.

I was involved in a motor accident nearly 12 months ago, and have Legal cover on my insurance policy through 'Aviva Insurance'. I have cctv footage from my vehicle, which clearly shows that the 3rd Party drove into the side of my vehicle. All along they have said I clearly have a case, for which the 3rd Party is fully responsible. I received a letter dated the 6th March 2015, to which they have written to the 3rd Party, requesting that they review the cctv footage as soon as possible, and get back to them with their stance on liability. To this day over 6 months ago, I still have had no correspondence from them on this subject. If this is how great they are? Id recommend you find a better solicitor.

Although my claim was rather slow to start with once it started to be acted on it was very intense and the staff were extremely helpful. I had been on holiday in the Dominican Republic in 2011.The restaurant area was on the same floor as our room.The staff sprayed the restaurant with pesticides but forgot to close the doors. When we went downstairs we encountered the pesticide which left us with runny eyes coughs sickness headaches and loss of voice.The hotel did not want to know. We were sent to many experts by our solicitors.The feeling that they really cared was reassuring. They then managed to get compensation for me and my husband which for me was a five figured sum. I would recommend them very highley

Completely agree,ive just been through hell with a woman who has been both rude ignorant and incompetent She ignored my messages,emails,not professional at all . Awful,awful treatment and these people charge the earth to treat you like this and add hugely to your trauma.
