“My Deed Poll Experience.”

To be honest I was not too sure changing my Surname was going to be easy, but it turned out that it was.
I received my Deed Poll Documents with my new Surname on in the same week that I applied for them, I also paid for some extra copies just to be sure.
My first stop was my Bank which accepted my Deed Poll, they needed an original.
Then I approached my utility companies, some just wanted a copy of the DP and others took my word over the phone.
For my local Council offices, I had to go in person along with ID and there was no problem.
The Tax Office and Work and Pensions I had to write to with a copy of the DP.
But the hardest one was my Driving Licence, which is still ongoing.
You cannot pay by Card at the Post Office, they only accept Cheques or Postal Orders along with proof of ID and new photo's through the post, which I think is a bit last century and the Post Office wont help you with any of it.
I have no complaints with the 'Deed Poll Office' as its all gone fairly smoothly and I think it was money well spent.
