“This firm does not return phonecalls.”

Written on: 16/03/2018 by Newton91 (1 review written)

This firm is representing my family in a probate issue. I live overseas and have sent emails and phoned this company several times. They have not once responded. Absolutely awful. I would never use this company by choice!… Read Full Review

We're sorry that you've found it difficult to contact your Probate Manager.

To provide consistency of service and approach, a dedicated Probate Manager is allocated for each Estate. Feedback from our customers is very positive, as they feel that the direct relationship helps to provide reassurance at what can be a very stressful or emotional time. If the dedicated Case Manager is not available at the time contact is made, it can sometimes be difficult to respond immediately to specific questions about an individual Estate. We do, however, try to ensure that someone is available to answer customer queries at all times.

We appreciate that there are always opportunities for us to improve our approach, and would welcome your specific feedback on this element of our service. Please find our email on our Review Centre page – if you email us with your case number, we can take a look into your specific case and see where we can help.

Thank you for taking the time to leave us a review - we appreciate the opportunity to improve on our service.

“10 months & still waiting”

Written on: 18/09/2017 by AdrienneProctor (1 review written)

We are not very happy with the service for our dads probate. It has been going on for 10 months now and we still have no idea when it will be complete. At first we thought our main contact was really helpful, but unfortunately we dont feel that anymore. For the past 2 months we keep being told 'it'll be another 2/3 weeks' then they find another thing to hold it up. Another letter they need to send out ect. Were getting very concerned with the length of time its taking, as we have no idea… Read Full Review

“Unprofessional and do not adhere to their policies”

Written on: 03/07/2016 by Toyota4 (1 review written)

The case worker dealing with our case. She harrassed my sister and myself for details asking us to find out information that she required. ie Probate office for my fathers will etc. I spent over an hour on the telephone battling with her, as their sister company had well under valued my mother's property, and she had not check the documents supplied to us, to see if they supported their valuation. The documents gave evidence that the property was well undervalued by them. They then decided it… Read Full Review

Thank you for your response. Finally I had to speak to the manager of your Company who finally managed to move things along.
But I am appalled that the executive constently insisted that when you have my mothers property valued there will be evidence etc etc to support the price your company valued it at . My sister was also led to believe by your Company that she could purchase our mother's property at £350,000. I debated with your executive that it was well undervalued. They also could not provide proof how they came to value it at this price. Finally they admitted an error and then came up with £365,000. Again I disputed it and debated with your executive that this was also incorrect and you still could not show evidence to support this new price.. Finally after another hour debate on the telephone with her. She agreed to put it on the market at: £380,000. Within in a week there were so many offers over £400,000. Highest offer £418,000. It was finally sold to my sister at £420,000. £70,000 above your valuation of £350,000. I had a constant battle with your executive throughout regarding the low valuation of the property where you could produce no evidence how you came to value it at a low rate.
You are charging both myself and sister high costs to avoid us having any stress and to sort out any problems but instead you have only given us so much distress and anxiety. This has made me very ill and I was under my GP. My sister said she ended up in hospital with chest pains from all the anxiety your Company had caused her. So I feel this needs to brought to your attention please.......
If I also could point out another serious situation that has arisen which also could have been avoided if dealt in a professional manner. I am now thinking that I may have to take the matter further, if it cannot be resolved. I understand that I will have to go through the complaint procedure before I am able totake the matter further. Or perhaps you could suggest another option first. Thank you

“Help/advice wanted please”

Written on: 08/10/2015 by 489Gregory (1 review written)

We instructed Chorus Law late last Autumn to execute a very simple cash will, no property involved, and a clear concise will. We were advised 6 wks ago that grant of probate has been granted and that we could expect the beneficiaries to receive their money within 8/12 weeks. We have been trying unsuccessfully to contact Chorus Law to see why it is taking upto 12 weeks for the final process to be complete, but as with everyone on this forum, we are not receiving a reply. Can someone advice me… Read Full Review

“Not very professional”

Written on: 21/08/2015 by Madysons164 (1 review written)

As some previous reviews I also wonder why Barclays suggested we use Chorus Law, we should have realised when we received Chorus's first letter informing us what they were planning to do to make the probate etc a smooth worry free transition to completion when in the last paragraph it stated that if we had any problems or issues to contact this named person who would be pleased to answer our queries ! the name was out LATE mothers name ? I telephoned Chorus to ask if that meant any update we… Read Full Review

“late mothers estate”

Written on: 07/09/2014 by nikk118 (1 review written)

Chorus Law are the worst firm of INCOMPETENTS I've ever had the misfortune to have to deal with. In my profession I have to deal with solicitors on a daily basis. If any of them behaved in the unprofessional way Chorus Law did I'd have been bankrupt a long time ago. Amateurs is the politest word I can think of… Read Full Review

Doddyman's Response to nikk118's Review

Written on: 08/09/2014

I totally agree, so far the have failed to respond to telephone calls asking them to contact prospective purchasers of my late Aunts properties. Barclays Bank are equally at fault in recommending this firm but when you are berieved, the prospect of dealing with a large estate is pretty daunting, as Aunty banked their it seemed a good idea at the time.
