“Got my Money Back”

★☆☆☆☆

written by Duke_Nukem on 11/08/2017

The sound was awful, like a little voice in a tin box. I have hearing problems and could hardly make out words, whatever the volume. Then I tried to turn on subtitles and this was very difficult - the response to the remote was either nil or erratic. According to the manual, subtitles were buried in the menus anyway. This showed up another problem - the TV is extremely slow to respond to the remote, many seconds, enough to make you try again which would sometimes cancel the previous command. This applied to changing channels too. With processors running a Gigahertz speeds these days, what the heck is the thing doing between pressing a button and getting a response? I would think I must have had a faulty model if I did not read similar reports from others. After a week I took it back to the shop and got my money back.

Sharp LC24DV510K Full HD 24" LED TV with Built-in DVD

The super slim Sharp LC24DV510K Full HD 24" LED TV with built-in DVD complements any living room. It brings total life and compliments the ambience in a room with its latest LED backlight technology. This TV has a DVD built in and with a 1080p full HD the inbuilt Freeview tuner is brought to life. The Freeview tuner boasts up to 50 digital TV channels and 24 radio stations ? all free of charge. An extra 2 HDMI ports sits at the back of the TV making it easy to connect your multimedia, Blu-ray as well as gaming consoles via a single cable. The main advantage of buying this Sharp LC24DV510K Full HD 24" LED TV is probably the combo of DVD and TV. At such an affordable price there?s no reason to have a think about this fantastic bargain as you eventually save space with the all-in-one. It also has a 7 day electronic programme guide which helps organise favourite TV programmes. Reviews on the product were a mix of the good and bad. A user from the John Lewis website thought in terms of picture quality this TV was superb and probably filled a gap in the market as there are less 24 inch combos. However the sound scored realy low and users thought it was muffled and thin even at the highest volume. This user thought the TV would be more ideal for a smaller sized room. Meanwhile on the Amazon website, majority of users thought the picture quality was excellent but others weren?t impressed with the DVD player. One user said the remote control to help select the choice of language for the DVD just wasn?t working properly-the buttons didn?t work well and caused a bit of stress. A huge rating of 9.0 out of 10 featured on the Reevoo website. However most users were of the impression the sound was weak and very poor. It seemed this characterised most of the TVs in the Sharp range as this seemed to be a recurring problem. However it was easy to set up for the most people and ease of use was positive as well. Another user from Reevoo said the text was rather on the small side although picture was clear and quality.
