Three New Fronts Under Guarantee - Its A Design Fa

Three new fronts under guarantee - its a design fault whereby they crack

Two new tops - its a design fault whereby they crack

New cost was £212 from the Co-op with a two year guarantee. After 2 years and 9 months the wash pump has seized up and needs a new one. £60 if I buy from the Interent and fit it myself. A new later model machine £168 from Dixon's. Will it be any better or should I pay more for a Bosch. It seems that Hotpoint, Creda, Indesit, Ariston are all the same from Merloni.

The wash pump on my Indesit D167 dishwasher had seized up. The pump case is welded so that the impeller is not accessible. I took the pump off the motor - left hand thread - put some washers on the shaft to act as spacers, so when the pump impeller was reassembled it was no longer tight against the casing and turned freely. The machine is working OK again.

From new, and even after engineer visits to replace cracked fronts, the door was adjusted so closely that it had to be pushed to close it. I adjusted the catch so that the latch works easily, and it now closes with a click. Again, it is now working well. The white plastic trim around the flat top of the machine remains cracked. That can only be a design fault. The door front cracking was caused by poor assembly from new, and by the Merloni service engineers.

I Won't Be Buying Another Indesit That's For Sure.

I won't be buying another Indesit that's for sure. The motor and logic unit have not been built to last on the Indesit D167 dishwasher. The price is cheap, and so is the build quality. You get what you pay for.

I Bought The Indesit D167 Dishwasher Just Over Two

I bought the Indesit D167 dishwasher just over two years ago. I have had minor problems with it from the start i.e. not drying, and not washing properly etc.

Just before Christmas this year I put it on on a low heat (45 degrees) wash, to rinse stuff. It overheated and the fuse tripped. It got so hot that it melted the plastic stuff in it, and even the base of the dishwasher. It only gets light use as I am the only person dirtying dishes here. I'd hate to think how much sooner it would have died had it been in use for a family.

I would not recommend this product.

I Bought The Indesit D167 Dishwasher 17 Months Ago

I bought the Indesit D167 dishwasher 17 months ago, and have just been so disappointed right from the start. Being the first dishwasher I owned, I was very excited. This faded quickly. It just doesn't wash properly. Every time, there are items that I have to rewash by hand, even if the dirt is fresh when they go into the washer. Glasses often have bits over them, and just normally soiled plates come out dirty.

The dishwasher also doesn't dry the dishes particularly well, and I end up having to dry them myself by hand when taking them out and putting away.

The door often takes 4 or 5 goes to close, as it just keeps popping open. There is often no explanation as to why, it's just complete trial and error to get it done.

The cutlery tray broke within months of me having the machine, which now results in me being unable to use four of the sections.

I am just so disappointed. It was a reasonably priced machine, had the A ratings, but certainly doesn't live up to it, and I wish I'd paid just £50 more and got a machine that worked.

I've Had The Indesit D167 For Just Over A Year, An

I've had the Indesit D167 for just over a year, and cannot agree with previous reviews. It stopped working within 2 weeks, and the engineer has been called out numerous times since. The cutlery basket got a hole in it in the first month. Now the lettering on the machine has faded beyond reading, meaning that I have to get out the instruction book to know what the light is indicating. The door sticks, so force is needed to open it. The machine fails to take in water. I have been told today that a new engine is needed. I can't stand it anymore - I'm going to throw it out.

The Indesit D167 Dishwasher Is A Triple A Product

The Indesit d167 dishwasher is a triple A product which is what you would be looking for in a dishwasher. The triple A (as opposed to Bs Or Cs) is the most efficient and environmentaly friendly product you can buy (and at less than £250).

Doesn't really tell you very much about the product itself. What the features are, is it easy to load/unload. What are the pitfalls. Is the salt or rinse aid levels adjustable to cope with hard water areas.
