“Great kitchen with helpful staff”

★★★★★

written by Jonesie56 on 27/09/2019

I love my new kitchen! From design to ordering was made really easy and I would never had done it and so saved so much money without the help of the sales staff. Not pushy in the slightest and advised me on how to make it cheaper. Well impressed. I’ve got the look that I was after and cheaper than I thought. The only negative was 1 damaged unit in transit but this was replaced pretty quickly.

“Fab kitchen and service”

★★★★★

written by Bishopxy286 on 25/09/2018

My kitchen is now complete and what a great addition to the house it is. Solid wood units and quality fittings and much cheaper than all the other quotes I got, some for a lesser flat pack product too. Really happy with the pre and aftersales service and all my questions were answered throughout. There was even some advice on your site on how to get my kitchen even cheaper, which was very educational and commendable of you for advising on this. I had 1 small issues where an end panel had been dropped at some point, as the packaging was damaged on a corner and the end panel was damaged as a result. This was replaced within the week though without any fuss.

“Really happy with my new kitchen”

★★★★★

written by Hadassah489 on 10/10/2016

Kitchen is now complete and from ordering to making a brew in it only took 6 weeks. The units are very high quality and the doors are as solid as can be. The wife loves the real wood look and the bespoke colour that we were allowed to choose to have them painted in. The colour really fits in well with the colours from our room. The combination of tall and wall units (thanks for spotting our error as we ordered the wrong height wall units) works brilliantly! We now have our oven at waist height in a tall unit, which really does save my back and our microwave is in a wall unit giving us more worktop space. Overall I could not be happier with the end result and thanks for being so honest and helpful!

“Love it!”

Thanks for a great looking kitchen! The showroom gave me loads of ideas and the end result in my house looks like it should be on display in your showroom! :-) I must say that getting a new kitchen was the best decision that I've made and shopping around really did pay off. If you can offer a planning service as well then I would give you 6 stars, if 6 were allowed. Thanks again and I'll be coming to you again when my mother gets her new kitchen as she is a little green with envy at the moment. Thanks again

Our final kitchen looks better than words can describe, me and my wife are over the moon! The money we saved will go towards a cruise for our anniversary, so thank you for that! Keep up the good work.

“Great amount of choice”

★★★★★

written by Paulkj789 on 03/08/2016

For a small company you have such a great amount of choice and options! We have just finished fitting our kitchen and my father in law saw it yesterday and thought we had re-morgaged our house to pay for it, lol, we spent loads less than the other quotes we had from other companies. Thanks, we love our new kitchen:-))))

“Very happy with the quality and price. ”

I found DIY kitchens after searching the net and looking at the likes of Magnet, Howdens, Wickes B&Q, Benchmark, etc. The website was good although occasionally a bit slow. I particularly liked the tour of their showroom which showed the kitchens in situ. The quality of the units is excellent. The are well made and sturdy. I installed the kitchen myself and had no major problems. As for the price, it was significantly cheaper than the aforementioned brands. They provide a sample service that was really helpful and the £5 per item is refunded if you order. Delivery was no problem. I had a couple of doors that failed their quality assurance so they shipped the bulk of the kitchen and sent the replacement doors a week or so later. A word or two of advice. The onus is on you, or your builder/designer, to get the planning and ordering right. Plan your kitchen carefully with scale drawings (they provided a planning pack to help). Measure your room and angles very carefully. Note entry/exit points for water, gas, electric, etc. and doorways & windows accurately. Check everything at least twice! Make sure you get the hinges on the correct edge of the doors. Pay for them to drill the hinge holes (about £2.50 per door) - they have the jigs to ensure accurate and consistent alignment. Just to be safe, check everything - measurements, plans and units ordered again. Happy to recommend.

“Service that reduces the stress of a new kitchen”

★★★★★

written by Casep62 on 13/08/2015

We were opening up two rooms, to provide us with a lighter, brighter kitchen/dining room, so there was building work to be done before the new kitchen could be installed. Whilst this was going on, we studied on-line reviews of fitted kitchens from different companies. The name DIY-Kitchens (previously unknown to us) kept appearing, scoring higher than other brands we had been considering for value, quality, and – most importantly – service. The website showed product ranges which seemed to be to our liking, and we prepared a rough design for what we would choose. We followed this up with a visit to the first-class showroom in Yorkshire, where we were able to view our favoured styles and fittings, ask detailed questions of the helpful staff, and sit and have a coffee whilst making up our minds. Also, one of the show kitchens gave us the idea of including a feature section in a different style, which proved very successful. We selected the Broadoak Ivory range for our units, with a feature unit and some details in Broadoak Light. We used curved base and wall units very successfully to “soften” the end of the units, on entering the room. We chose glass doors for some wall cupboards, and would have liked the option of glass shelves for these, to allow internal lighting of glassware within (we sourced these shelves locally afterwards). The worktops are Second Nature solid oak, with locally-supplied granite on the food preparation feature area, which has pull-out larder shelves under it. Using the visualisation tool on the website, we were able to judge the overall effect of our choices of style and fittings. It would have been nice to have been able to select a wider range of wall colours, though. The on-line ordering process was straightforward, and it was easy to revisit our shopping cart to check and recheck what we had included, before we placed our order. We used the telephone support line to clarify a few details, and the staff we spoke to were a pleasure to deal with. They checked our order, and phoned to confirm that we had intended to order units in two different styles. We ordered certain appliances from DIY-Kitchens as well, as their prices matched those from other on-line suppliers. We were easily able to reschedule delivery of our kitchen when the building work took longer than we had hoped. Delivery was later than predicted on the chosen day, mainly due to traffic delays, but the delivery staff were most helpful, and all items were present. We had been warned that the glass wall unit doors had a longer lead time, but they arrived a couple of weeks before the scheduled date – more or less when they were actually needed! Our builder, who had not encountered DIY-Kitchens before, was impressed by the quality of the pre-assembled carcasses and the fittings, and more impressed when we told him the price. The units went in as planned. The builder had a bit of a struggle fitting a couple of the integrated appliances, due to limited space for pipework and wiring, but these problems were overcome. We had underestimated the quantity of plinth material needed, so we placed another order to rectify this as soon as our builder noticed it, and the additional material was delivered before it was required. We used the after-sales facility to report one problem – a small blemish in a solid wood door. A replacement door was quickly sent, but unfortunately was wrongly drilled, so a second replacement had to be requested. The on-line defect reporting system did not seem to cope with a second problem with the same item, but a phone call sorted this out. We feel that DIY-Kitchens are an excellent, responsive company, but occasionally struggle with the volume of orders at busy periods. Now it is finished, we are delighted with our new kitchen. The overall effect is exactly as we hoped – light and airy, with clean modern lines, but based on quite traditionally-styled units. The result has been widely admired by family and friends, and both our builder and architect asked for photographs to include in their portfolios! The whole experience of choosing what we wanted, and then seeing it take shape, was very satisfying. It was made easier by knowing, from our first dealings with them, that we could rely on the support and service of DIY-Kitchens throughout. Many thanks!

“Excellent kitchen, great price, would definitely use...”

★★★★★

They have a huge range of kitchens, and a huge range of cabinets and accessories to choose from which made it easy to get the kitchen exactly how we wanted it. The customer service team check your order before processing to make sure you haven't missed anything, which we had, so we're grateful for that also. I will definitely be using again when I do up my next house, the quality and price of the kitchen is fantastic. The units come ready built so installation was quick and easy and pleasant. I love the interior of the units, normally they are just white and don't match the exterior but DIY kitchens make the inside to match which makes it look great.

“Great kitchen! DIY-Kitchens provides a first class...”

★★★★★

written by RoninSmith on 13/07/2015

I discovered this company while looking online for ideas to renovate my kitchen. The web site was easy to navigate and full of helpful information. From the order process to the delivery all was straightforward. The kitchen units are of an excellent quality and there is a superb range and different internal fittings to choose from. By paying to have the doors fitted at the factory my husband and I, both just turned 70, were able to put everything in place, although we did employ a joiner and plumber to fit the worktops, integrated appliance doors and sink. I was not disappointed in the quality of any of the items or internal mechanisms and love the accessibility to everything in the kitchen. I would have no reservations in recommending DIY-Kitchens to anyone who is looking for a superb kitchen, especially if they are working on a modest budget. If I were younger I would be putting my love of the TV programme Homes Under the Hammer into action and would certainly be using DIY-Kitchens for my renovation projects to achieve a luxury look!

“A Review from Dundee Scotland”

★★★★★

written by Braelyn338 on 03/05/2015

I am extremely pleased with my new kitchen. The kitchen is now fitted and just needs painting. I could not fault this company in any way. Service, price, and quality of the kitchen were all first class. Even the delivery driver was extremely helpful. I love the kitchen, I had ordered it without any help, and only made one error, however DIY Kitchens helped resolve this for me. I would recommend DIY Kitchens to my friends without hesitation.

“Easy as 1-2-3”

★★★★★

written by gloria1967 on 06/11/2014

I ordered my kitchen online, which I was a little nervous about but after much planning we finally placed the order in August. 3 weeks later my kitchen arrived as planned and 3 days after that it was fitted in my home and ready to use. The kitchen looks great and the units are spot on, I especially like how quiet the doors close and I no longer have to shout at the kids for slamming them, so it's a win win situation on that front! All in all I'm very happy with my kitchen and buying it from you on nothing but a recommendation.

“I must be a design genius our kitchen looks so good.”

★★★★★

written by Wooten110 on 15/10/2014

Our new kitchen is now installed and it looks excellent. The quality of the units and doors is first rate and is probably better than many more expensive suppliers. Providing you are able to plan your own kitchen, which is not that difficult if you take a bit of time, the diy-kitchen option must be the best option you can take. I know there were a few hiccups with the work tops and handles but in the end everything was fully resolved within the timescale of the fitter being on site. I can highly recommend your company and would be very happy if you were to include my comments in your testimonials. If you want some pictures of the finished kitchen I would be more than happy to oblige. Of course the most important thing is how happy is my wife with her new kitchen. She loves it. Plenty of space to store everything and all of the pull out units make access so much easier.

Hi there, would it be possible to email me pictures of your finished kitchen, as I'm still a little unsure about using the online option.

I don't suppose you chose the Altino Petrol Blue did you? I'm interested to know how this compares to Maget's Astral Blue and Wren's Pacrylic Blue...

“Great Quality - Fantastic Range - Brilliant Prices”

★★★★★

written by 262Curran on 10/10/2014

The diy-kitchens team were actually really helpful, not just focused on a sale. They made suggestions to help the design and to ensure it fitted in the space. Responded to queries, made sure any post delivery issues (just 2) were sorted out immediately. The units themselves were really good quality, all pre-assembled, and the finish and look were excellent. 9 months in, all the units work really well - so no problems to date. For the quality and finish, we could have easily paid a third to half as much again.

My DIY kitchen was installed this summer. It is a matt painted finish. I have found it impossible to remove greasy fingerprints. The finish seems to absorb grease! I have tried Cillit Bang Grease & Grime, and even straight vinegar. Nothing works. Does anyone have a suggestion how I might clean the doors?
