Keeps On Breaking
I bought a Hoover Washer Dryer WDYN 885D.
It broke within 3 months and we had to get their mechanics out. Then it broke again after 9 months and again had the unpleasant task of having to get their mechanics out to fix it.
Now it's broken for a 3rd time and it's still not 18 months old. They tell me I'm going to have to pay in full to have it fixed again. On both the second and third breakages I asked for a replacement product or a refund as I have lost all faith in their machines. That was declined. I can't believe they supply a product that can't last the first three months and then don't want to take responsibility for it. (And just to clarify, there was no heavy or unusual usage of the machine, there's only 2 of us)
Their customer service has been awkward and overly time consuming. Having to chase them about appointment times etc.
I will not be purchasing Hoover again.

Awful Machine, Awful Service Plan!!!
2 years after purchasing this machine I started to have serious problems with it. It comes with 5 years parts warranty, but you have to subscribe to Hoovers repair plan at £14 a month to take advantage of this. With the first breakdown I took out this repair plan, I called on Friday and the engineer fixed the machine on the Monday. This was the first and last time I received a good service from the repair plan. in the past year my washer dryer has broken down 5 times, each needing an engineer visit. Firstly you have to phone a premium rate phone number to book an appointment (unless you book online) which is always "experiencing a high volume of calls at the moment" which means it takes up to 10 minutes to speak to an advisor, then you generally have to wait a week for the next available appointment.
On the most recent breakdown I booked online. The day after booking an appointment I received an email to tell me the engineer couldn't make the scheduled appointment but would visit the day after. On the day of the appointment the engineer is supposed to text you with a 2 hour time slot. On this day he didn't, meaning I waited in all day for the engineer to arrive at 17:30! My machine needed a new 'mother board', a part not stocked in the UK, so had to come from Italy. When the part arrived I was contacted to say it would be fitted on a Tuesday 2 1/2 weeks after the initial enquiry. I took the day off work for this (as you don't receive a time slot until the day of the repair) only to be called on the morning of the appointment to say their was a problem with the engineers schedule, so he wouldn't be able to make the appointment until the Thursday, which he was subsequently late for!
Now, just 4 days later my washer dryer has broken down again!
So far, I have spent £150 on the repair plan, £40 at the laundrette and lost a days pay at £123.
I'm not sure which is more un reliable the machine or the service, take my advise, stay clear of all Hoover products!
