I Bought One Of Hotpoint Dryers In September 2002,
I bought one of Hotpoint dryers in September 2002, as I liked the style and wanted a dryer in Zircon Silver. The price was £270, expensive for a tumble dryer, but I considered it to be worth it due to the name.
Within 3 months, the drum began to make a horrible grinding noise, as it was still under warranty (I also purchased a 5 year extended warranty, thank goodness). I called the engineer, who told me that I had pushed the casing out of shape due to placing a heavy item on top (I had a George Foreman grill on top) and the drum was rubbing. He bent it back and left. Since then, I have had engineers out 4 times due to grinding, squeaking and banging. I have had the thermostat replaced, the drum moved, the casing bent and a spindle replaced but the problem is back again and I will have to call them out again today.
I cannot afford to replace the dryer as I also purchased a matching washing machine and fridge freezer, which are fine. I have mailed Hotpoint, who didn't seem particularly concerned, but have since noticed that this model is not listed on their website.

Hotpoint Is A Fairly Quiet Tumble Dryer And Uses L
Hotpoint is a fairly quiet tumble dryer and uses little electricity, nice big tumbler. It takes ages to dry and broke down after 15 months.
