Bought This Machine To Replace My Broken Dyson.

Bought this machine to replace my broken Dyson.

Stylish but not practical. Hose is not good even when extended to use on the stairs.

Heats up very quickly.( MOTOR)

Hepa filter block got blocked up recently.

Search on the net for replacement.

Quotes for over £ 30 , which is nearly half the original price of the whole machine !!!

Panasonic can't help either quoting " parts supp;ied are of good quality and durable)"

Not recommended unless you are prepared to chip in £30 every 12 to 18 months.

Got a new Dyson DC14 today from ASDA FOR £90 ( with their £10 off offer.),with 5 years parts and labour warranty!

The Panasonic Mce 4003 Does Pike Up Well But I Am

The Panasonic MCE 4003 does pike up well but I am fed up of the belts that keep going, breaking of the belts is a very costly because you have to put a new one on every week, so I would tell people not to buy

I'd Had This For About 6 Years During Which Time I

I'd had this for about 6 years during which time I'd used it whilst "doing up" 2 houses and had been (admittedly stupidly) using it for such things as hoovering up brick dust and smaller pieces of rubble, the whole time it was great and I only ever needed to clean and not replace the filters. And then it started shredding fan belts, it wasn't too bad to start off with, 3 months, then 2 months then 1 month, it was lasting about 10 minutes when I threw it away and got a new hoover. Even so, it still lasted longer cost less and was better than my old Dyson.

I Bought The Ec 4111 Which Is In The Same Mold. I

I bought the EC 4111 which is in the same mold. I found the hose for hoovering the stairs absolute rubbish with only a brush attachment supplied and the hose uselessly too short and difficult to hold. The drive belt has come off every time I used it lately and have since taken it back to Argos who exchanged it for any other make and model I wanted, of course paying the difference if applicable.

Panasonic Mce 4003: We Are On Our Second Machine,

Panasonic MCE 4003: We are on our second machine, the first was replaced under warranty as it kept tripping the thermal cutout. This second one always runs hot though doesn't trip the cutout. We are always having to clean the filters on a weekly basis. The rotary brush traps hairs between its ends and the metal plates, generating enough heat to melt and burn/char the plastic end of the roller producing a terrible smell. It has now decided to shred one of the drive belts. The exhaust is badly directed such that it blows any hair and dust that you are trying to clean up away from the machine. The only good point is that it does have a strong vacuum pull. Not a machine I would recommend anyone buying.

We Are Now On Our Second Machine, And Both Suffer

We are now on our second machine, and both suffer the same problem. The main drive belt comes off after a couple of uses.

The shop we purchased it from and Panasonic say there is no problem!

I would suggest strongly that you steer clear from these machines!

Certainly would not recommend them!!!

I am not alone! I also have a continuous battle with the main drive belt. Not only does it come off but usually gets chewed up, the last one having done only one area of carpet approximatately 7 x 4 m sq before failing.

I have had the same problem the small belt keeps coming off it then takes a screwdriver removal of fours screws to put back on. Comet are dragging there heels to sort this out as it is still in waranty.

We have had the same problem. I have been in touch with Panasonic complaining that there was a design fault. They agreed to replace the machine. The new one is just as bad. Apart from the drive belt coming off, it is excellent. However, I would certainly not recommend anybody to buy one. I have to put the belt on at least once a week and sometimes three times in a day. When a belt comes off it is often damaged by the motor spindle burning into it. The belt can only be replaced by packs with the two belts in. I am seriously contemplating buying a different machine. As a point of interest, we purchased a Panasonic because of the reliability of our previous Pansonic vacuum cleaner. This model, in my opinion, has a design defect.

MJC......I really am surprised that you're having trouble with a Panasonic product. I have another brand of vacuum cleaner so no experience there. I own many other Panasonic/Technics items - some of them quite old now - and they've performed faultlessly. I sincerely hope your problem is resolved satisfactorily to all parties as I'd hate to see Panasonic getting a bad name.

Please keep us posted.
