Bought mine just yes2day, wanted to try it str8 away. read the instruction, it says keep bowl of the ice cream maker in the freezer for 24 hours before use with temperature -18 C or below. put bowl into freezer. in evening made the base for vanilla ice-cream (time consuming!!!), 18 hours afret putting the bowl into freezer I decided to make the ice-cream. Got bowl out, put the lid on, turned it on, poured ice-cream mixture into the ice-cream maker, a minute later paddle got stuck and stopped rotating. it can not coap with ice-cream building on the side of bowl, can not scrape it good enough to prevent of building too much that its not possible to scrape it off the sides even with knife! I turned it off and by the time I managed to get the lid off (its a real torcher!!!) it was already about 6 mm thick coating of solid frozen ice-cream on the sides of the bowl. Nightmare to scrape it off!!! will not give up so easy, will try to leave bowl in freezer for only a coupple of hours b4 using, not to let it cool down too much. Also will try a simple way (all ready-made ingredients) to make ice-cream next time (a tin of cheapest custard (tesco, sainsbury, asda, lidl) + double cream + vanilla extract = mix it all up and into ice-cream maker. if you make a proper vanilla ice-cream it will turn out to be as good as Haagen-Daz but it will not be any cheaper!!! another hint - make 4-5 portions of ice-cream in one go because it will take at least 2 hours for the bowl to get defrosted, in that time you will make 5 litres of ice-cream, all different flavours. save the tubs from yogurts - you will get individual portions by filling them up with your ice-cream. I made vanilla ice-cream exactly the way it was said in the recipe book and it gave me 3 small yogurt pots!!! its not worth even bothering your head!
