Punta Cana, Riu Bambu

In all the bars at the bamboo, the staff were sullen,surly,unfriendly, on one ocassion I waited for 20 minutes to be served at Le Plaza bar, the barman serving others who had come after me knowing I was there and then sniggering in my face.

At weekends there was a large influx of locals and entertainment was all in spanish even spanish comedians, again the barstaff would serve the weekend visitors before the European tourists.

As we were able to use facilities at the sister hotel, the Naiboa, my wife and I would have a drink at the the poolside bar, the reception there was even worse than the Bamboo, staff just nodding their heads to enquire what drink you wanted, on receiving our drinks they would not even look at you, again sullen, surly unfriendly.

Last June we holidayed at the Bamboo,Punta carna in October we holidayed at Riu Toureg in Cape Verde Islands, two excellent holidays with excellent staff.
