We were aware of the 3pm check in time but as there was hardly anybody at the hotel we thought that it could have been a little more flexible. Just prior to 3pm was still too early. The hotel and room was spotlessly clean and cleaning staff friendly. The three course dinner on the first night was nice but could have done with some more basic food on the menu and we didn't have the third course. The person serving was friendly and helpful and although there was an issue in the kitchen I'm sure that the chef could have done some more choices as the menu was very limited. The following morning's breakfast was arrive in the restaurant and initially fend for yourself. There was limited fruits available and sit anywhere. We were asked if we wanted a cooked breakfast but not if there was anything in particular that we liked or disliked. The breakfasts arrived and unfortunately my wife left most of hers. The breakfast staff could have been a little more informative especially as she was acting as front of house. For this and because my wife became a little unwell we decided not to stay the second night. On arriving home we were sent an e-mail questionnaire asking how the hotel had done and could they improve at all signed by the manageress. I replied to this quite fairly and suggested that should see wish to contact us by my home phone then we would gladly discuss our concerns. This was on the 20th February 2018. We never had any response.
