STILL WAITING FOR CERTIFICATE 8 WEEKS LATER
written by 329Penn on 31/08/2014
The school provided me with sufficient information and materials that I needed for the course. The structure of the course was excellent, easily understood. My tutor gave me feedback on my assessment within 5 days each time after submission and replied to my emails instantly. I am satisfied with MDLC and would like to use them in the future too.

I'm about to complete my first course, just have my final assignment to submit. The whole process has been easy, and I've found the work interesting. My assignments have all been marked within a couple of days, and it's good to read the feedback from tutor. I was concerned about how the current situation is going to affect my studies, but have been assured that I will still receive my certificate on completion. I am happy with my experience of MDLC so far, and would consider undertaking further studies with them in the future.

Hope you do, my portfolio has been gone since May and still waiting for my certificate.

I put my last assignment in two weeks ago. It was a 12 months course of which I have a further 6 months to go. MDLC have locked me out of my account and are requesting a paypal payment for an extension on my support, which has not run out. My last assignment has not been marked, they are not answering contact requests and they do not answer the phone. It was all going well for me too until I put my last assignment in.

Almost finished this course, found the course easy to follow with clear set questions and help at hand when needed. I didn't have to wait days for feedback. More then happy to do more course this way. I've done other online course and found them complicated with very little help. This one is value for money.

In light of recent events with the dispute between ncfe and mdlc it appears the victims are the students. My assignments remain unmarked and my emails ignored. Seeking independent legal advice regarding this. Whoever is responsible for the unfortunate events, learners should not be the ones made to suffer.

Personally I've found the HLTA Course absolutely fine. The fee was appropriate. I chose to have hard copy study aids as well as on line. They duly arrived in no time at all, very nice and professional looking. I will be honest and perhaps found the website at times a little confusing, but I think thats my lack of IT skills. I have particularly liked the way assignments have always been marked and returned before due dates, with good critical praise and encouragement. Questions have always been answered in detail with links to web sites etc. If there is currently some dispute between MDLC and NCFE, it reflects very badly on NCFE that THEY do not do EVERYTHING THEY CAN to ensure students are honoured with the creditation they have paid/worked for/deserve. MDLC - get yourselves sorted out of NCFE and I would do another course and recommend others to you.

Chose MDLC initially as course was great value for money and an online course felt most appropriate to fit in around day to day life. For someone who had not studied for a fairly long time, I found the website and tools easy to use. Their support is fantastic. They keep you up to date and have your best interests at heart. Feedback on assignments is always positive, encouraging and marking has been within 3 or 4 days instead of the suggested 10 days that they say. They respond to queries very quickly too. All in all a great study experience. I had not heard of MDLC before this course but would certainly study with them again and recommend to others!

My distance home course is perfect for me I'm a mum of 4 and work 16 hours a week in a primary school nursery. All the best jobs have come up and I can't even get an interview because I don't have a qualification BUT with this NVQ level 3 home course I'm working towards getting that certificate to hopefully better myself in my work place. With the my distance learning they respond pretty quick when I've submitted my work and when I've resubmitted their feedback is always reassuring and words are very kind it makes me feel better about myself already I know with there help I can do this. I can't wait to receive my certificate and finally have a a qualification instead of just experience. I wish I knew about the home course years ago but better late then never and I thank my distance learning course for helping make my life a bit easier working from home instead of having to leave my 4 children in the evening to attend a course. My course was also affordable the best price I could find.

I had already compled a course with MDLC and was happy with how it had gone so signed up to do the HLTA course. I completed this in April and since then have had nothing but problems in trying to obtain my certificate. The course was completed long before MDLC went into dispute with NCFE so I believe that had MDLC registered me as a student with NCFE, I would have not had any problems obtaining my certificate. I'm now faced with having to look for another provider and redo the course as well as pay for it again as my job was subject to completion of the HLTA qualification. With no certificate, I have no proof of the qualification. To say I'm very disappointed is and understatement. MDLC is not regulated by anybody, it's the awarding body that's regulated, so the only place to complain to is trading standards who can then investigate the conduct and professional integrity of MDLC. I do feel sorry for the college staff who were excellent in turning my assignments round within the given timescales, and providing feedback and guidance to me.

I have seen the adverse publicity that MDLC have been receiving over the last couple of weeks and I can honestly say I would use them again for any further studying I would do. They respond very quickly to any query you may have. When submitting assignment marking I have received it back at least a week earlier than due. When I do receive feedback even if I need to resubmit the feedback I receive is first class and never negative. Good for them.

I was very concerned about being able to return to learning at the age of 50, My Distance learning gave me just the courses I needed for work . I completed the HLTA level 4 only recently and I am know awaiting my certificate , the course was very in depth covering areas from Early Years, SEN, through to proffessional self development. The online college site us very easy to navigate and submit your assignments at any hour, and if you need any questions answered you have the support of a online tutor at any time of the day . I would recommended this college to friends and work colleagues , keep up all the good work. If you are reading this review , don't just sit there pick a course and start knowing it will improve your own proffessional development and enhance your work opportunities .

I am very happy with this course brilliant to have access 24/7 as a mum to a newborn baby it makes further education a real possibility. I would recommend this course to anyone. :)

My Distance Learning College experience has been great, any problems you just email and you get a prompt response, either from tutor or college. I would definitely recommend it to family and friends. You can have a hard copy of the course, but it does cost extra, but it's not a huge sum. The course informs you of any other qualifications you may need to complete. The work is at your own pace, no one hassles you for assignments, they are clearly explained and easy to understand. You can send assignments in as many times as you like for feedback, until they pass. You have twelve months to complete the course or you can extend if necessary for a small charge.

I am really enjoying my Higher Level Teaching Assistant Course. Once you apply for a course with My Distance Learning you are e-mailed with all the information you need to start your course. I am really impressed with the variety of support and resources that can be accessed whilst completing your assignments. The course materials are well set out and very well explained. I have found the study guide really informative and very helpful too. As I have progressed through my assignments I have been thrilled that I am passing my assignments first time, I put this down to the brilliant resources available to me. I know that if I need help and support during my course I have someone there to help me. There isn't anything that I don't like about it however I wish I had purchased the paper copy as I feel I would get through my course quicker but that is my own personal preference, it has no bearing on the quality of the course.

I have found my experience to be amazing. The assignments are easy to follow and so is the website. I have found learning fun and not difficult. The tutors are always on hand to help when needed. Will be using this again. I'm quite impatient so struggle with waiting two weeks but when compared to university it's very small.

I have just sent off my portfolio for level 3 supporting teaching and learning. So am just awaiting my certificate, and if I get this, then definitely 5 stars. Assignments marked quickly. My queries dealt with promptly and in detail. Course instructions and materials easy to follow. Very happy I chose my distance learning. Enjoyed my studying.

I really hope this is not the NCFE course, if so you are unlikely to receive your certificate as MDLC and NCFE relationship has come to an end. Do not trust MDLC, phone your awarding body (eg NCFE) to check you have been registered and your registration fees paid.
MDLC told me on several occasions that I had been registered and fees had been paid, only to find out from NCFE that this was not the case, therefore no certificate for me!

I have just completed my HLTA Level 4 course and my SEN Teaching Assistant level 3 course and found the courses extremely easy to navigate. I had quick responses to my assignments with excellent feedback. When I had a question or query they were quick to reply and never made me feel silly even when the answer was in fact obvious if I'd stopped panicking enough to think about it. I bought both courses through Groupon which made them even cheaper, so we're definitely value for money. I am now thinking of my next one and will definitely recommend to my friends

If the MDLC - NCFE dispute is over finances the college should explore every avenue to resolve as an obligation to it's students whatever the cost. Although it is a business it will survive with it's reputation and ultimately it's profitability intact. Like many others I signed up and completed a course because of NCFE accreditation which has not been received. The notes, administration and assignment marking turnaround were excellent.

I am currently doing level 3 teaching assistant and bought the course through Groupon so it was a very good price. The assignments are marked quickly and good feedback given. The website is easy to negotiate too which is vital. Any questions I've asked have been answered quickly and in depth. I would definitely recommend to my friends.

I have enjoyed the course- supporting teaching and learning in schools. Support is always available online. The cost was very reasonable, having looked on other sites and I would definately recommend. Course is very flexible and allows you to complete in your own time.

Thank you for posting your comments. We do understand your concern regarding your certificate. Whilst certificates do normally take 6-8 weeks to come though to us from the awarding body there are currently delays which are beyond the control of MyDistance Learning College. We are working to try to resolve the issue. As soon as we receive your certificate we will post it to you. Thank you for your patience.
