The car insurance price was really was good - 50 % less than the highest quote . However , D Dial demand that you sign for an auto renewal service which allows them to take cash from your account next year at the renewal date . They do promise to remind you a couple of days before then but that is not enough to get alternative competitive quotes as that is best done 3 weeks or so before the due date . D Dial also indicates that you can change the auto renewal AFTER you pay but it is not obvious and creates a sense of customer manipulation which borders on inertia selling . Not a good look and demands that the customer is on the ball and is proactive for the next renewal rather than D Dial giving more notice and even though they could potentially offer another great price next year , you are left with the feeling that they are going to try and slip one past you at renewal time . They could have had 5 stars instead of 3 but until they review their auto renewal demand they don’t deserve 5 stars .

It was very easy and simple to purchase car insurance online. Fantastic and easy. Thr overall process only took a few minutes and was clear and concise. I would highly recommend Dial Direct to others. I can suggest to type their name in your Internet browser and follow the simple instructions as I did. Its very easy compared to others who just publish endless statements that you have complete before you even enter your info.

My insurance was more than double what I had previously paid the year before. Staff are normally very helpful but I ended up in an argument with one member of staff who didn't hear my date of birth correctly and continued to tell me I didn't have a policy with them. The next time I rang I asked them to look for cheaper quotes which they are normally more than happy to do this time it just seemed to much effort. If I could of found a cheaper quote I would have gone elsewhere.

Having taken the policy out through a comparison site they charged us a fee for “a change” which was only made necessary because of misleading questions relating to a no-fault accident, where we had put the drivers name instead of the policy owners. The “change” had absolutely no impact on the policy and didn’t change the cost of the policy. They quoted a cost for the change and then tried to charge more than had been quoted, but reduced it following a complaint. It’s too late now to cancel but I won’t be renewing with them and won’t ever recommend them to anyone.

We were given a total increase of £200 from Admiral car insurance to renew 2 policies for no reason as no claims in over 7 years. We refused to pay such an abusive increase and changed to dial direct as offered very competitive price. Hope we remain satisfied in the future. Time will tell. Thank you! Alvaro

The whole process was coherent and easy to understand with no unnecessary questions or hold-ups in the application. The questions were plainly set out with 'boxes' to write your answers in or, spots to tick off. At the end of the process you were provided with the Insurance Certificate and other essential information highlighting the salient most useful phone numbers for contacting the company for various reasons should there be any emergencies or issues relating to the insurance of the car e.g breakdown procedure, accident etc. After taking out the policy I was left with a feeling of 'that was how all car insurances online should all be like and I wouldn't mind contacting the company to say thanks for a well structured and easy to follow set of user friendly question.

After researching quotes, I opted for Direct as it covered all my requirements, at a competitive cost, online was ok and process took about 5 minutes once decision was made.

On comparison site quote given is said to include courtesy car, breakdown cover etc but these are in fact “available extras”. Further premium increased automatically in very small print (as well as sneaky opt out from automatic renewal)to almost double initial quote. It is to be expected but be aware. Ultimately no longer competitive but could have got stuck. Awaiting for customer service call in order to cancel and get a refund which adds time after initial process.

I have been with these for a while and they have always been ok. However recently I had a signed agreement with them and they then sent me a letter saying ''oh we just realised last year you had a bump and now your insurance is not only going from £64 per month (been driving since 2000 and had one bump my fault in that time I'm 41 years old) going up from £64 per month to £107 but now we have decided to put it up again to £150 per month as you had a bump last year. I think this is absolutely ridiculous 41 years old been driving sinceI was 20 and I have had one bump in over 20 years that was my fault (driver slammed on and I went into back of her bumping her slightly so tech no really my fault but you know the rules....)

Very easy to follow instructions on the website. Could get the cover I wanted for my car. Choose my policy start date and set up my payment plan. Would definitely recommend this company to my family and friends next time they are looking for a new insurance. Fantastic service.
