I have had a Home care agreement with British gas for over 12 years the service has been ok upto now, but feel it has gone down hill lately. I tried to book an engineer as the hot water was coming out scalding hot, I suspect it is the thermostat on the hotwater tank again.

Despite paying over £20 per month I was told that my issue was not deemed urgent so I would have to wait over a week for an engineer to visit. However the day before the scheduled appointment British gas called me to say that they had to cancel my appointment as no engineers were available. until the following week. I think it is totally unacceptable to have to wait over two weeks for an engineer visit especially when you have been a long standing customer.

Do not believe the tv ads when they say you can rely on British gas to look after you in a crisis 365 days a year this is certainly not true. They clearly do not have enough staff to fullfill their obligations.
