Very Complex To Use,for Experts Only
Unless you are an expert do not use Namesco. The site is complicated and flashy, the so called free features are ok ONLY if you are very skilled in this stuff. Technical help is patronising complex,and impossible to understand most of the time. They make no attempt to hide their contempt of novice users and unless you can decipher the instructions you are just abandoned to your own devices. On a scale of 1 to 10 where 1 is a novice, avoid this company if you are lower than 8 on the scale. Cost of their services is never quite clear and always ends up more than you expect.
Do your research and find a provider suited to your needs. I wish Review Center existed years back when I signed up to this nightmare.

Speed And Reliability. Namesco's Fault Or Bt Wholesale?
It used to be OK for the money. 2MBps stable connection. Now it's less than 0.5MBps and unstable.
I am finally at the end of my tether with Namesco and BT. So I'm ditching both.
The first time my line went off I had BT out and sure they got it going again, but in my opinion the BT engineer just twiddled the wires around in the hope he wouldn't have to do anything major like lay a new cable to the house.
After complaining that speed has dropped to less than 0.5MBps it gets increased to about 1 MBps (big flipping Wow! in a world where you can get a faster speed on your mobile phone). Then it drops back to less than 0.5MBps. Then it happens again and I have to complain again and go through the whole process again ugh!
Namesco just blame the line and BT Wholesale and all they can do is arrange a visit from a BT engineer at your liability.
What's causing this then? It was fine for the first couple of years.
Is it the infrastructure (copper wires? could be)? Is it the exchange? Is it that Namesco have reduced their contract with BTW? A bit of all of the above?
To be honest I really don't care anymore. Can't provide me with a decent broadband and phone connection then you lose my custom. You've had over two years to fix it. Simple as that.
You are the weakest link. Goodbye.

Web hosting support with Namesco - I found customer support to be excellent - prompt response, to the point advice and instruction. Best customer support from a service provider Ive come across for some time.

Refuse to help. They stop there services for no reason..... Scum... Left me with a domain name but no site afteer they removed there service without informing me. A 30 minute phone call later to be told they would not help me and they are more than happy for me to seek a different service provider..... What kind of customer service is that.. .

Gone Down The Pan - Now Rubbish
I have been with this company for over ten years and it used to be excellent. Customer service is now appalling. Have just been hanging on the telephone for nearly two hours with no reply. Stupid music and stupid advice to check their very poor knowledge base then Jane Horrocks soundalike jumps in and says that office closed. High price used to be worth it - now high price for useless service. A complete disgrace. Do not use them and change as soon as you get the chance.

I'm taking a moment to do what I very rarely do, write a review. However I am so impressed and appreciative of the dedicated professional service received from Namesco Ltd.,/Register 365 in their hosting and website builder services,that I really must say thanks and well done... publically.
I had been with an alternative provider for years but the regular 'down-time', the limiting technology and the poor support service frustrated me. Finally I changed to register 365 who were a third of the cost for vastly improved resources though that was by no means the deciding factor.
That had to be the quest for complete reliability so as not to let my 'visitors' down. Register365 more than exceeded my expectations on ALL aspects.
In a world of declining standards a professional 'supplier' is almost as vital as customers. I appreciate the rapid responses and friendly advice and help from every single support staff I have spoken with over the last several years.
I have no other connection with this excellent company, no axe to grind but one can become complacent even selfish when faced with continuous quality. It's easy to criticise from the sidelines and point a finger, sometimes forgetting that there may be three pointing back at you.

Worst Company Ever!!!
I have been a customer of Namesco for about 12 years with sarahdonohue.com and then instantquit.co.uk. They used to be a great company and look after their clients, but in the last 2-3 years they have become a real strain on my life with my websites crashing, never answering their phones and being on hold for over 30 minutes at a time, never getting back to me or even answering questions, in fact some of their technical support and customer service personnel are just damn right rude.
They have refused to hep me with my email because they DONT support outlook, yet i joined them with outlook so whats new? Sometimes one of the guys might help, but often they just refuse to help which leaves me with 2 business sites with no email communication!!
To get someone to help i may have to phone them 4 times which is around 2 hrs and then when they eventually help, if i am that lucky, then it takes them all of about 3 minutes!!! And the support people all tell a different tale, some say they dont help outlook clients, some say they do, others just simply pull the plug on the call as they can't be bothered to answer questions...and some say they shouldn't help but help anyway..ugh...
They are inconsiderate of their clients needs, they have unwillingness to help, they are certainly over-priced especially for the service received.... they also put you on hold and don't come back until the phone just cuts out, or they say they will put you on hold and find out the question you asked but what they do is put you back in the original queue so that you will wait another 30 minutes only to have to explain it all again because the original person either doesn't know they answer or basically doesn't give a toss, or both..
I have to say that i have now moved to Centus and its a breath of fresh air. Namesco in short are shocking and i would NOT advise anyone to use them and on seeing other reviews, everyone seems to say the same as me! Heed the warning, they are terrible and care not for their customers!
And whats worse, they blame the client for everything even saying that payments aren't up to date when clearly they are, they even for some reason 'lose' debit card details so reminders are sent to you, and when you question why the details are no longer on record they blame you for not inputting them in the first place..!!! I could go on and on but i am already bored and angry with them, they have lost me clients and wasted hours of my time.... NAMESCO ARE RUBBISH!

Rip Off Merchants Namesco - Please Don't Use!!!
HIDDEN FEES BUT THAT'S NOT THE END OF IT!!!!
I went with Namesco because I had brought my domain name through them, and thought it all looked quite professional....... Jesus was I wrong!! I firstly brought my site which they advertised at £49.99 then to include VAT, ok right it should have been £59.99 but NO, it was £59.99 then again plus VAT. So I ended up paying £71.99!!! How do they work that out?? Complete false advertising!! I have now lost £71.99.
I was hoping to start building my new shop for www.naughtythrills.co.uk last Monday....... FAT CHANCE!!!!!
I have been getting frustrated and messing about with Namesco’s ridiculous “so called” software trying to build my e-commerce!!! All I can seem to do is change the background colour and that is not in full. It is VERY messy software and to be honest have not got a clue where to start. I FINALLY picked my template (supposedly from over 300, yeah right) you can only change them to a VERY limited extent! I changed all my front page for my shop (luckily just testing ideas). I did not know how to save changes (and no it was NOT the ‘save’ icon on the left side of the screen!) So I gave them a call. After been on hold for 15 minutes, only to be told. I had to then press the cache button, so I did and it lost all my changes, nowhere to be found, but it had saved changes I had made to different templates that I no longer required!!
I also asked the adviser how I could put my logo onto the website, (simply logo not pictures just writing) his answer was: mess about with the pixels! Yeah like I have got time and patience to do that.
To be honest by Tuesday afternoon (not even 48 hours) I had gotten nowhere with Namesco’s ecommerce building site and had already made my decision to change. But they had made me so cautious that I spent the rest of the week looking at reviews for others! So thanks Namesco for wasting a week of my life!!
They say it is easy to use and you don’t need to be a web designer. To quote them: Set up in 3 easy steps, Setting up your Ecommerce shop is simple. Use the handy wizard to create your shop’s design and layout, and then the easy-to-use Admin Panel to add products, manage orders, payments, stock and more. :O? NO IT’S NOT!!!
I already run 1 business and have built my website for that with someone else and it was not a problem. But being completely web based I needed a company I could rely on for my second business. I’m not a wizard at computers but I’m not stupid either (already building 1 website), I think even a web designer would struggle with it.
I have now lost £71.99 and a week of trading. I have now changed my site to EKM power shop, I have only had the site a few hours this morning and have got my logo, and some products on already it is wonderful to use and so simple UNLIKE NAMESCO!!!!! But now AGAIN messing about to switch my domain to them and they are REALLY frustrating me!!!! They should change their name to:
MESS ABOUT ALL DAY AND WASTE TIME AND MONEY.COM
What is right with Namesco is probably a shorter list to write, not what is wrong.
VERY, VERY, complicated!!!!! I have asked them to transfer my domain and all I get is an e-mail saying: I have cancelled the renewal for you the package will not renew. To update your name servers please follow the guide below. LIKE THAT WAS A REALLY BIG HELP!!
Very disappointed, and discussed with Namesco they should be shut down!! I could rant about this all day, which is unlike me but they have REALLY got my back up on this one and they want to be glad I’m a passive person!!
PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE DON’T FALL INTO THEIR SO CALLED ADVERTISING TRAP!!! AND KEEP YOUR MONEY IN YOUR POCKET!! OR GO TO EKM POWERSHOP AS I DID. They even give you a demo online shop before you commit and have SO much help, it’s unbelievable!! Fabulous value for money at £24.99 inc VAT a month.
They need reporting to ASA, or watchdog for false advertising.

Hi, I have been using namesco for years and have had a huge bandwidth charge. They charged me around £650 in a bill that arrived at the end of a month for excess bandwidth.
I received no warning at all, just the bill stating that we had to pay.
We then wrote to Namesco to complain considering that our yearly cost is around £80 for that website and that this huge charge was totally crazy - they then pointed to the small print.
They made us an offer to buy extra bandwidth but we have no need for it, we have a small website that just experienced an unexpected peak. We wrote back to them explaining this and our website was taken offline. Due to this coercion, we were obviously then forced to pay the charge to restore service as we are a business that needs to have a running website.
We are now taking them to court as we belienve that they take advantage of their customers. The charges are ridiculous, unjustified and immoral - in fact I am sure that they make lots of money in this shady way as unsuspecting clients receive bills at the end of the month and feel that they are forced to pay.
Any ideas?
