Still waiting for boiler to be fixed after all these weeks still no phone call from team 42 THEY ARE A JOKE DO NOT USE you have been warned

Grant Scheme Boiler Shambles

I recently had a boiler fitted through the grant scheme and the service was appalling. Since the boiler has been fitted its leaked! I have rang the office countless times every week for someone to come and fix the problem. I have been passed from piller to post, told countless stories and still nothing has happened. I had no water for nearly a week due to the fault. The boiler was on warranty but was due to end. This in my opinion is why I am been ignored. The situation has became so bad I am now seeking legal advice. Do not use this company they are an absolute shambles.

Don't Touch Them With A Barge Pole.

A tale of 2 companies - Team 42 Limited (05916283) and Team 42 Energy Services Ltd (10282152). The reasons for pointing this out become clear later in this review. First and foremost, check that any gas work is done by Team 42 Ltd, as contrary, to the Website, this is the only one with an associated GasSafe registration. Now to the work. Team 42 replaced a boiler for us under a grant scheme. After messing us around with the appointments and contributions, (as after 2 days, the grant was cut apparently), and insisting we made payments in cash only (see above), the work was undertaken. Whereas we know other firms typically send 3 people for the day, Team 42 send 1 qualified engineer + 1 apprentice. More personnel than this turned up to collect the cash from us pensioners, thus highlighting in our opinion where the priorities lie with this firm (or firmS). Result: due to inadequate manning, corners were cut (and we were lied to regarding the scope - seems to be the norm for Team 42 based on other reviews), we had an installation which was later condemned by GasSafe (based on the fact the unit was immediately isolated by the inspector) who were contacted, as consistent with other reviewers, Team 42 when contacted, choose to treat their customers with total contempt. Thanks to the intervention of GasSafe, the work was thankfully rectified.

Based on this experience, especially the lying and sheer contempt shown towards their customers, I would not touch this firm with a barge pole.

Excellent

Insulation fitted on the t-falls in 3 bedrooms, done in a day by work men. Cannot fault the work at all. Obviously you can't expect work like this to be completed with no mess whatsoever, but the lads did what they could to reduce it as much as possible by putting plastic down on the carpets and by using dust sheets and offered to wash walls and to hoover. Would definitely recommend!

I Had No Hot Water Or Heating Leading Up To Christ

I had no hot water or heating leading up to Christmas things were looking very bleak who stepped in team 42 within 24hrs a team of engineers came to my property and installed a new boiler hot water and heating felt like heaven the team were courteous and professional in their job and no mess to deal with I can only speak on my personal opinion but team 42 were excellent thanks again

Poor Customer Service

This company installed cavity wall insulation to my house in July 2014 to a satisfactory standard or so I thought at the time. Prior to the work commencing, a Team 42 employee inspected the loft space to determine its suitability, however, he did not adequately inspect the eaves to ensure that the walls had been "capped off" which had consequences as I will now explain.

Fast forward to March 2015, my wife was taking a shower in the en suite when she noticed a black treacle like substance leaking through the halogen light fittings. Being somewhat alarmed she went into the loft and discovered the smell of burning. I was out of the country at the time so she rang the Fire Brigade who informed her the evacuate the house immediately. Upon inspection the Fire Officer determined the cause to be insulation material which had gathered around the light fitting causing it to melt with the potential for it to catch fire. It transpired that thousands of small polystyrene pellets had ingressed into the loft following the work carried out in 2014. This could have been prevented had the inspection mentioned above been properly carried out. Team 42 were contacted and an electrician attended to ensure that the house was safe. LED lights were subsequently installed to replace the halogen lights which we were grateful for.

However, at no time was I or my wife contacted by any of the management team to offer some support or an explanation as to what had happened. This could have had serious consequences and my wife was quite distressed and yet we heard nothing from the management.

I subsequently contacted the Cavity Insulation Guarantee Agency who carried out an investigation and they concluded that my complaint was justified. A copy of the report was forwarded to Team 42 several weeks ago but I still have not had any contact from the company. Quite shocking really and I would not recommend them to anyone.

Over The Moon

I have just had my gas boiler replaced on 25/06/15 from a back boiler to a nice new bosh one and moved into my airing cupboard upstaires I was well informed what would be going on any questions I had was soon answerd.I was so worried about the mess and hoping the job would go well with no problems i was over the moon that I need not have worried from start to finish the lads were great and it only took one day to do the lads got on with the job know messing about and cleaned up after them selves.I am pleased with all the staff well done to all and i would recommend Team 42 to anyone thanks so much and i wish you all well.

Warning

I had cavity wall insulation installed by team 42 eight weeks ago and after discovering this review site, well. After the appointment time having to be rearranged on 4 seperate occasions I feel I should have heard the alarm bells then but I didnt. After 2 days insulation beads started appearing insisde and out of the property, glue from the product has stained my 1 year old block paving at the front of property and poluted my flower beds at the rear, Any complaints are met with bullying tactics by the so called staff who answer the phones. And the relevent person I should apparently be speaking to is either on holiday or on the sick.

Not to mention hearing from the install staff the shocking work system they have to work under every day seems like they are bent over backwards and backed into a corner (there words not mine) So yes WARNING WARNING

Fast, Professional, Great Value For Money

I recently purchased a boiler from Team 42 and I am more than happy with the service i received. I called up to arrange for quote and i had a survey carried out the next day, the surveyor that attended my house was very professional and polite, they survey took no longer than 30 minutes, i was then called that same afternoon with the quotation price, which very reasonable. I then had my new boiler install 2 days later and again the installers that done my boiler were professional polite and they done a very neat and tidy job.

I would definitely recommend Team 42 for any boiler services you needed, i shall be using them again to maintain my boiler to which they have done and brilliant job!!
