One Year On .... Still Talking About It.

I wrote a review a year ago about the appalling service we did receive before, during and after the installation. The kitchen is fully operational, the units are nice but get easily dented as the wood is very soft. The cabinets are poorly painted with 2 tones of paint used on the dresser.I have strong reservations about Kit Stone recommended fitters - a word of advice: GET YOUR OWN. One year gone and still fighting with Kit Stone recommended electrician! Would I recommend that company to anyone? NO!!!!The worse purchase I have ever made.

I Love Your Kitchen, Where's It From? It's Kit Stone.....

That's the question I'm always asked and that's my answer...

We have a beautiful kitchen that we are so happy with and everyone comments on..so thank you KIT STONE! Everything went according to plan when the kitchen was fitted, the service from kit stone was brilliant, including their fitter...

We are so happy with our stunning and very practical kitchen and would recommend Kit stone very highly.

Absolutely Fabulous!!

Thank you so much! We couldn't be happier with our kitchen and the service we got. The team at Kit Stone or Neptune home as I believe they are now called went far beyond the call of duty to deliver a great service. The comments we have had from friends who have now seen the finished article has been out standing. Reasonable prices and I would strongly recommend them.

Thank you

Wouldn't Recommend To My Worst Enemy!

We ordered a kitchen from Kitstone in November 2013. Total value was around £20K. The units were lovely and we were reassured by their 'customer service language' in the brochure.

What Kitstone don't tell you is that they won't project manage the installation at all. They take your money, outsource it and run!

We had to arrange for our worktop installers to come back a total of 5 times before the work was completed properly. Wobbly granite, unsealed and uncleaned worksurface which looked terrible. Bits missing. We needed to take multiple days off work to be there for the workmen and constantly chase Kitstone and the other worktop company. When we called the sales office they failed to get back to us at all and only answered email.

We returned a cooker hood which was surplus - worth £415 and they still have not paid us the money back for it.

Units nice....service utterly awful! wouldn't recommend.

Great Service, Fantastic Design And I Love The Kitchen!!

Hello I have had a Kit stone Kitchen designed and installed in Bristol. The service was fantastic, very easy and striate forward. One of there designers came out to our house and saw our kitchen space. He provided simple and practical solutions to our needs. He also advised on changing some of the internal layout of the house to help us gain more of what we wanted.

When we saw the design it was better than we had imagined! and we were surprised when we say the price. We didn't think that we would get a solid wooden kitchen, with granite worktops and fitted for £20000.

We then agreed the price and agreed a date to start. We then had simple communication with Kit Stone and the installation team, arranging everything and the designer project managed the whole process for us, which was a big relief!!.

We had to change dates as building work ran over time and this was no trouble, Kit Stone were very help full. The installation went well and kept to time scales that was advised. We were kept in touch with all with the designer, so anything we wanted or weren't sure about, we could ask or deal with as was happening.

I love the finished kitchen and love showing it off to people that come round. I would recommend Kit Stone to anyone wanting a high quality solid wooden kitchen.

My only negative point is that the black polished granite that we choose, is very hard to keep clean and shows all of the marks! We were advised of this but didn't think it would be a problem at the time. I would also wish that i would have chosen a bolder kitchen colour but could decide at the time. We are thinking of having it painted later on after living with it..

I look forward to enjoying the kitchen for years to come!

Bad , Bad And Bad

Kit Stone! The worst company we had to deal with. They wanted payment of the full kitchen 2 months before delivery. Once the kitchen was paid we were left in the dark. No communication whatsoever! We send many texts to their fitter to ask him to quote for the additional work to be done (removing old tiles, plastering the walls etc.) nothing was ever received but for the electric under floor heating that we wanted installed. We bought the underlay and the vinyl(Kit Stone fitter installed the under floor heating but without putting a membrane in between the concrete floor and the underlay; when we asked him why he did not put the plastic membrane as recommended by the manufacturer he said that a plastic membrane would only make the floor sweat). Before work started in the kitchen, we checked with Kit Stone if certificates for electricity and gas could be issued by their fitter they said YES. 4th November we were expecting the fitter to come to prepare the room for the under floor heating and remove the old kitchen but he was still on holiday abroad. When he turned up the following day he stripped the kitchen then told us that he could do the electric work but could not issue certificate. He knew someone who could do the job. After the visit of his friend the electrician the fitter phoned the same evening with a quote:£1100 to rewire our 8m2 kitchen and changing the fuse board which was not conformant. We knew that they had us over a barrel (and told them so), but we had no alternative as we did not have a kitchen. The work went ahead, the kitchen was wired, the board changed but the electrician then "discovered" that the lighting circuit was not earthed. He could not issue the necessary certificate unless we have the house lighting circuit rewired at a cost of £1500 (which we still have not agreed to so we are without light in the corridors downstairs). Meanwhile the work on the kitchen went on, some more problems with the worktop that was late to arrive because of Kit Stone administration (we were told). On 28th November the work top was installed the gas hob was connected to the gas (same thing here we never got a certificate for the gas if we want one we have to pay an extra £70 on top to the £100 asked for the installation of the hob). On 29th November the fitter turned up to fit the last cabinet and install the tap. Kit Stone quote for carpentry & plumbing was £1600 but we received the final cost from the fitter: £1700 + £900 for additional work. So all in all the kitchen cost us an additional £2100 (if we include the wiring for the lights £3600!!)

So when Kit Stone say that they have the expertise to make a new kitchen installation as painless as possible do not believe them, we were left without a working kitchen for 25 days. They also claim that they are still small enough to care on a very personal basis - NOT TRUE once they received your money they cannot care less. In their catalogue they also say that there is lot more to be said about them but they are running out of space, well what about: BE PREPARED TO PAY FAR MORE THAN EXPECTED.

Oh, I almost forgot: PS to Kit Stone: can we please have the magnetics door catches, that we have paid for, so that we can close the 2 doors our cabinet? Thank you much appreciated!

Don't Touch!!!!!!

We had our kitchen fitted by Kit Stone and had a catalogue of disasters! The fitter was off on other jobs and did not want to commit to our job as agreed once he started. When he finished, I had a sink that was fitted back to front, taps which you couldn't fit your hand round, cupboards that stuck out due to ill fitting and the list goes on!

The "Designer" at Kitstone ordered wrong units and refused to help when I couldn't get the fitter onto my job. The Managing Director was rude and abusive and failed to be interested in the position I was being put in.

The kitchen itself is good quality, except as another review says, the wood is soft and very easily dented. The units are by Neptune and can be bought elsewhere cheaper. I have been left with a kitchen that is substandard and a rather bitter taste in my mouth!

Good luck!!

What a shame that I did not read your review before signing for a Kit Stone Kitchen. NEVER AGAIN! People should be warned about their appalling tactics!

I am the lady you are writing about! After 3 years you decided to pay me a visit, with the sole interest of getting my comment changed. Your "new installation manager and customer service team" man with a hammer, came and again badly tried to patch a bad job. The major jobs, the sink being fitted back to front and larder lopsided, went untouched, as clearly too expensive for them to rectify. You treated us, as second class citizens from start to finish and were completely uninterested in the fact we had paid a lot of money and got a very poor quality kitchen at the end of it.

Kitstone

This lady purchased a kitchen from Kit Stone back in 2009. We freely admit that we were new entrants to the kitchen market and our service on this occassion fell short of where it should have been. Back then, when we sold this kitchen, we had 1 showroom, 1 kitchen designer, 1 kitchen fitter, 1 delivery driver and 1 person in the office. So we acknowledge that our back up and service were lacking on this occassion, which we sincerely regret. However, in the last 3 years, during difficult economic times, we have grown to 6 showrooms, more than 40 staff and we sell on average 1 kitchen per day. We have not been able to grow as a company in this way by offering unacceptable service and a high percentage of our business is through recommendation. The testimonials page on our website gives examples of the many happy customers that we do have. We have fully apologised to this reviewer and she has had our installation manager and customer service team at her disposal to rectify the issues she highlights.

Ouch, well that's made my mind up! Thank you fro enlightening me!! I have just been in contact with them to a quote and design proposition. But after I'd spent a long time writing a letter with all our requests and wishes I get a reply filled with all the questions I'd allready answered. So their designer at the London branch cannot have bothered to read my letter at all. Rang them but couldn't speak to 'our' designer, and the person I spoke to promised to pass on the message which wasn't done either. So I think we'll call it a day here! There are plenty of good kitchen companies out there who I'd rather give the business to!!

Beautiful Looking Kitchen At A Good Price. However

Beautiful looking kitchen at a good price. However beware of 3 issues:

1) The paint finish was disappointing and we had to repaint the doors and frames twice to get a proper egg shell finish

2) The external wood and shelves are 'soft' and dent very very easily (too easily!)

3) The internal door catches are rudimentary which in particular causes further dents and scratches in corner units
