Beware! New Co. Has No Record Of Installation 2yrs Ago

I had KBBC install a kitchen just under 2 years ago. They did a pretty good job and would have recommended them. However, the tap fitted with the sink is now corroding. When I rang to ask for a replacement I was told that my kitchen must have been bought from KBBC Ltd whereas the business is now owned by KBBC Kitchens Ltd and the "new" owners have no records of installations by the previous company i.e. I presume any guarantees provided on purchase are now worthless.

My Experience With Kbbc Was As Follows: I Had An

My experience with KBBC was as follows:

I had an English sales person arrive who was very good and promised loads...after we signed the contract the service then went a little downhill.

We were given a date for the kitchen to be fitted and were told it would take up to 5 days for the job to complete. They told us they only start work on a Monday and would not start midway though the week.

The sales person told me they would send their own electrician who would work with my builder and show him where to make the holes so the kbbc electrician could then run the wires. This never happened…What we did have was an electrician come to the property and roughly draw on the wall the heights the sockets should be but told us if it is wrong he wont take responsibility,

(A tip is to make sure they write EVERY SINGLE thing they promise in the contract.)

The kitchen units arrived a few days before the kitchen was due to be fitted.

The fitter then told me we had missing doors and we luckily noticed the door handles were wrong as well.

The fitter told me he would speak with KBBC and sort it out, this in turn delayed the kitchen being fitted by another week as KBBC had to reorder the missing parts.

The kitchen fitter completed 50% of the kitchen in the first couple of days but had to stop due to the missing parts, he asked for 50% of the money to be paid for the work he had done. I did not want to do this as per the contract he should be paid on full once kitchen was completed…I called KBBC about this and they told me it is between me and the fitter to sort the payment out. I was not happy about this, as it put me in a awkward position.

The fitter was excellent however the service and project management was non existent, there were no courtesy calls to see how the kitchen was coming along and no courtesy calls once the kitchen was fitted.

We had someone that WAS NOT GAS SAFE fit our oven and their Electrician from what I can tell was not REGISTERED as we recently found a 3 sockets that had no earthing, which the KBBC electrician fitted. This could have led to a FIRE or ELECTRICUSION, luckily we found the issue when the washing machine stopped working and on inspection of the socket we could see it had melted.

They also used a 3rd party company for Granite which again any issues we had with them we had to speak to the granite company and not KBBC.

Another point which, we did not realise was they do not take the rubbish. We had a new kitchen fitted and it left us with a skip worth of rubbish i.e. spare wood boxes etc..

I wrote a negative review and was then told to remove it by the director, in exchange for money and extended warranty. After reporting the VERY SERIOUS issue around the electric wires in my kitchen, I was informed KBBC Limited has gone into administration and the website/assets have now been purchased by KBBC Kitchens Limited and they wont honour the agreement. So I have decided to repost my review.

I had to pay an electrician £150 to correct the issue.

My advice is AVOID and go with someone else.

(kitchen was installed in 2011)

Me And My Wife Bought A Kitchen 12 Months Ago From

Me and my wife bought a kitchen 12 months ago from Kbbc for our first home. We had it installed by kbbc fitters and it has been falling apart ever since. Literally falling apart. A door fell of within a week. A drawer came out of it's hinges ripping the chipboard. Parts of the fridge never arrived and a whole panel above the fridge was missing. Over the months we have tried to get it fixed by calling them and got nowhere. Lots of promises but no answers . After 8 months the vinyl on all the end panels started to peel off showing the mdf structure inside. That vinyl now comes off clean in one piece with no adhesive holding it down. The worst part is when I asked the kitchen designer if it was a vinyl kitchen at time of purchase he said no. In fact the door he showed us was a completely different weight and feel than the door we actually got.

When our 1 year warranty (Yes 1 year ) was nearly up we increased the intensity of our attempts to get the kitchen fixed and we were told that the company we bought off KBBC LTD had gone into administration and the new company KBBC Kitchens Ltd were not liable for our guarantee. What is worse is that the Director of KBBC LTD and the director of KBBC Kitchens is the same person. The website is the same and so are the kitchens. Apparently the only thing that isn't the same is the liability to fix faulty products! If that doesn't sway you to take your business elsewhere then the terrible quality of their kitchens should.

Did you ever get your kitchen sorted. We are having the same problem. We gave gloss cupboards and they are all peeling off. My last review they had taken down. I will write another review now.

Waste Of My Time.

Ordered my kitchen (Pendle Pastel) at the beginning of October. Part fitted at the end of October.

The designer and surveyor both assured me the job would be done in "one hit" and that my time would not be wasted as I had previously experienced a "bathroom from hell" installation spread over several months dealt with by another company.

The surveyor (John Perry) actually told me that the owner of KBBC was very "hands on" and made sure personally that any problems which arose were quickly rectified. The "one hit" claim was an absolute joke however.

The washing machine (which wasn't even in stock and had to be "back ordered") and cooker hood didn't arrive until the end of the following week.

One of the glass shleves for the dresser wasn't, and still hasn't been delivered.

The glazed dresser doors are of such poor quality I wonder if they were subject to any quality control processes whatsoever. The areas around the glass are so poorly finished that they are being replaced - I hope. Photos were sent to KBBC.

There was no delay in suppying the kitchen (I was a cash buyer - no credit), but when it came to actually replacing the glazed doors I was told that I would have to wait "several weeks" as they have to be manufactured and then glazed. Funny how I didn't have to wait several weeks when they wanted to collect my money!

Then I was told the doors would be delivered w/c 2nd December. It didn't happen as they had to "chase up the glazier."

Then I was told they had "arrived back in the KBBC warehouse and that the fitter would collect them contact me in order to fit them this last week." That didn't happen either.

Meanwhile KBBC has had the missing glass dresser shelf for weeks, but can't even be bothered to courier it to me; preferring instead to deliver it with the replacement doors - whenever that may be.

If you like a company with supply chain issues, nil to poor customer communication, having your time wasted, as wellas having jobs dragging on for months, then this is comany for you.

Am now taking these issues up with Trading Standards.

Poor you! You don't need this at the moment.

I only got it sorted by posting adverse reviews on this site and other social media sites. So don't give up.

Try posting adverse, but truthful, comments on their Twitter and Facebook pages. Also post photos of your problem areas.

KBBC still have an active website, so going into administration under one trading name and continuing to trade under another, without taking responsibility for previous sales, seems utterly perverse.

Other than that, I suggest you take it up with your local Trading Standards Office. Ask them to contact the local Trading Standards Office covering the KBBC trading addresses to see if they have had any previous issues with them.

Good luck!

Hi there I'm having such a hassle with this company the cupboards in my kitchen are peeling off. Kbbc kitchens (now limited) they won't replace them and won't take responsibility as they have gone into administration. I'm currently 6months pregnant and finding the whole thing very stressful. Did you ever get sorted??

Slider72

You are right it would appear the negative reviews are being taken off the site. I wrote one two days ago and now it has disappeared. What's the point of a review centre when they remove anything that is detrimental? I would advise anyone looking for a kitchen not to trust KBBC my kitchen is falling apart and nothing is being done about it.

LibON

I'm in the same boat as you, Waiting for missing/replacement parts for kitchen. This company is appalling and the after-sales service is the worst I've experienced. After-sales woman is rude, incompetent and dishonest.

Thank God for these reviews. I was planning to approach them after viewing their website. Decided to give them a miss now.

Worst Company In The World!

I have had the unfortunate experience of dealing with this company. I arranged for them to carry out an extension of my garage. Signed up a contract to commence work in January, ultimately the work started in April. Was advised the work would be finished in 2-3 weeks, carried on for more than 2 months! And believe me during those two months I have had to shout at the top of my voice, scream on the phone, write letters, text messages! We had a new born baby at the time as well and I cannot imagine how heartless these guys (builders) can be!

Ultimately I had to pay from my own pocket to get things done by another builder which they had promised to refund and now its been over 6 months and they just ignore my letters, phone calls and messages!

I am going to drag them to the courts!

If I can save even one person to get anything done by them, I would feel blessed as I would not wish this company even on the worst of my enemies!

Since my genuine Poor review on this website, they have contacted the website to take my review down!

They have tried to suggest that they did not do any work at my property and denied every taking the project up either.

What a bunch of liars. If it was not for the genuine people at Review Centre I guess my review would be taken down!

I guess all the positive reviews have been completely cooked up by KBBC themselves!

This Company Is A Joke

We had our kitchen “eventually” installed by KBBC and even knowing that you'll always come up against snags you don't expect several significant problems and horrendous customer service we experienced. They refused to deliver the fridge/freezer as their drivers said “ It won’t fit”, but their surveyor says “ it would”. After providing them with a solution to deliver, when it arrived the product was damaged and had to be returned, all this with no explanation of what happens next. A few phone calls later and we are told they have to wait for the product to be returned to the warehouse for assessment before they can contact the supplier. They then have to wait for the supplier to exchange the products so they can deliver a new one and all this with no timescales or apology.

If this wasn’t enough they designed our kitchen with a wine cooler that did not fit the space it was designed for and then offer a cheap alternative. When asked for a product of similar quality (which we had to hunt down ourselves), we were told that " it has to go to their accounts department for approval and they may reject this" and again there are no timescales as to when a decision will be made. This time we received a grudging apology saying “this was their process” and we just had to wait.

To add insult to injury they changed the design of our kitchen without consulting or informing us and yet again because another product that was designed to be installed in a location impractical for it. This apparently was agreed to by their surveyor, who failed to inform anyone else. Another phone call gained little explanation other than “Yeah, they needed to move it as is didn’t fit in the original location” from the so called Operations Manager. Again no apology here and the feeling that he considered the matter resolved.

Resolution at that point seemed impossible, as despite calling several times and having promises of call backs, these were never received. After asking to be put through to a supervisor or someone who could resolve these issues, we were passed back to the operations manager who said “we needed to speak to the sales person”, who would be calling after lunch. ( It might have been nice to have lunch, but without a kitchen this would have been a fruitless endeavour).

We also had to have another surveyor out to agree to the fact the wall cupboards were incorrect (in the fact that you couldn't open them) which they eventually agreed to replace. His only comment on this point was "I was going to give you that one...", as if there weren't a plethora of others.

Their promise of; “Paramount to profit is to make the client more than happy and we have achieved this consistently which our reputation shows. KBBC Kitchens will always endeavour to do our best until our customer is more than happy and completely satisfied with our service.” should maybe read as; “Paramount to profit is to make the client sign and then if they get a kitchen that’s nice, if not, who cares.” Now having seen the finished work and lived with it, hideous doesn’t even cover it.

It took several months to install, several more to get a refund on returned goods that didn’t fit and many, many hours on the phone to hapless idiots who promised the world and delivered nothing.

I would highly recommend everyone to avoid this company. Do not be fooled by all the positive reviews on this site, I can only assume these were either written by themselves, they paid people to do it, or that somehow the Managing Director himself was doing a stint as “Undercover Boss” in the weeks preceding the positive outcome for some customers.

Totally agree, this company ruined my life for months, and then took money out of my account before the kitchen was finished. Do not believe 6 months interest free, it is 6 months interest free from when you sign that paper. The fact that it takes 7 months to get a barely passable kitchen at premium prices is irrelevant to them!

Wrong appliances, ill fitting cupboards, poor design. Customer service DOES NOT EXIST. Woe betide if anything goes wrong, they promise to phone you back, and just lie. Hour after hour, day after day, month after month I was phoning up to try to resolve problems. AVOID THIS COMPANY FOLKS

Worst Experience Ever.

I bought a kitchen from Kbbc on the 8th of August, and the whole process has only just been finished last week just under 3months after being promised it in 3 weeks. First of all it was supposed to arrive on the 24 August. After contacting them on the 25th to see what happened it turns out the forgot to order it. When it did arrive 3 weeks later parts were missing. It was supposed to come pre-assembled and it came flat pack. Once the units where finally installed the templating people came promtly. But turns out the top I ordered was out of stock and would take a further 3 weeks. After 3 weeks no suprise when the top never turned up. After a week of 2-3 times a day calling I finally found out there was an Issue between Granitedirect and KBBC (KBBC basically not paying on orders) in the end I had to chase for a refund (which took a futher two weeks and me having to drive to their office in enfield from SW London to pick up a cheaque because their "Accounts manager" Could not make transfers.

All in all the worst costomer service I have ever know. No calls back. no help. Just lies at every Corner. Even emailed the CEO.... no response.

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!!!!!

Agree 100%. Company was hellish to deal with and can't in all truth say anything good about them.

bob328

I agree - worst people I have had to deal with. I prevailed with all the issues I had with them. Cost me time and money. Just wish I had cancelled my order. I now live with a second rate kitchen that just reminds me how stupid I have been. Never again will I purchase any kitchen. For me its down to Wickes and buy a tin of cupboard paint - now tha'ts real value for money and hassel free.

rcurtis

I can concur everything about this company. A catalogue of disasters from day one. Installation in the summer of 2011 by Christmas leaks were discovered behind the sink resulting in demolishing the units and rebuilding the wall of our new house! The water softener was fitted incorrectly and the first team of fitters left kinks in the copper piping. two months ago one of the wall units fell off the wall! Potentially a lethal incident. In spite of all this, the company are very reluctant to accept responsibility and are snail like in repairing the damage.

Never Ever Again Use Kbbc

I have ordered kitchen from KBBC as their reviews are very high. Unfortunately, in reality it is far to be true. I had a very bad experience with this company. I was pleased with the designer but after we signed all the paper work the nightmare started. Kitchen arrived without any notice, thanks God I was at home that day. Otherwise we would be charged £250 for re-delivery. All the parts were lying in my house for a week while installers came, then some parts were missing, the handles were damaged. During installation guys found some designer/surveyor mistakes. It took a week (I was calling every day to KBBC) for a granite company just to come and to take a template for the worktop. And at the end I realized that the first installment had been taken from my bank account without written month notice and without having my kitchen. I was calling customer service but they never resolved any of my issue, only promise to call me back that happened once out of 10. I wrote a letter to customer service director, as well, no luck to contact me to discuss an issues. I would not recommend this company to anyone. PLEASE THINK TWICE before going ahead with KBBC. Read MONEY SAVING EXPERT reviews that seem to be true. Everyone can make a mistake and if you communicate everything can be solved in a nice way but this company seems do not care about you because they already have the amount of 10% for your kitchen and you had been pushed in a corner. My statement is true and do not wish to anyone to experience such a poor service.

Total Disaster

After ordering our kitchen in June and agreeing a start date of 18th July it all went downhill fast. Late delivery left us with no cooking or washing facilities for 2 weeks. When it was delivered it got worse. Curved unit doors did not fit the units, end panels were of the wrong finish, a 520mm deep unit came 600mm deep. The unit was corrected by the fitters at once but the panels and curved units took a further 2 weeks to replace. When they arrived the panels were fitted but the curved units were wrong again. On the third attempt the units fitted but then the pelmet and cornice were found to be wrong. This is still ongoing over 3 months after the start date. Their idea of customer care is a joke. I would not give any recommendation to anyone to use this company, just a warning, do NOT have any work done by KBBC
